Pro-Palestinian protests, much of which are being done by jewish americans, are equal to Charlottesville neonazi marches.
I really wish the U.S would stop vilifying protestors. It's so disappointing we can't tell who the real good guys are.
I don't get everything about the conflicts in Israel (because the people around me seem to demand a history report when I talk about it), but I'm pretty sure these people just want to avoid civilian deaths. In that respect, it seems simple.
Personally, I find some of these Pro-Palestinian protests for peace rather cynical, as they conveniently ignore that Israel's actions right now are a direct response to Hamas brutally massacring over a thousand Israelis just a couple of weeks ago.
There is nothing simple about this. Israel HAS to retaliate against Hamas for the sheer reason that they have an obligation to protect their citizens from future attacks from Hamas. I absolutely agree that Israel has to adhere to the Geneva conventions like any other civilized state, but protesters are basically asking them to just turn the other cheek and stop attacking Hamas and then, I guess, just passively wait for the next time Hamas feels like massacring their citizens.
It's very easy to demand for Israel to stop attacking the Gaza strip and Hamas, but then what? How are Israelis supposed to ever feel safe again when their neighboring country is run by a horrifying terrorist group whose only clear goal is to exterminate as many Jews as possible? No matter how much you might dislike or outright hate Israel, nobody in their right mind can seriously be fine with Hamas just being left in peace after what they did.
That's what troubles me about these so-called peace protests. They are putting all of the blame and responsibility for the current situation on Israel's shoulders and might just as well ask of them to stop fighting back against terrorists and let them slaughter their people in peace.
