I looked it up and it turns out Disney just bought Jumbo Pictures, the original studio that made "Doug".
Channel Awesome, AVGN, and other web review shows

Probably when they acquired ABC Disney just wanted to throw their name on everything.
-
I remember when Disney first took over ABC and they revamped the Saturday Morning block. Best fucking intro for Saturday-morning cartoons I've ever fucking seen, that house kicked ass.

Pepper Ann bitches

The Nicktoons review wasn't the funniest thing I've seen (though usually I have my best LOLs when there are other people with me, such as the first time I saw the Drug PSA one), but I have to say Rocko, Hey Arnold, and Ahhh! Real Monsters! (especially the last one) were probably my favorites of the batch he reviewed. Rugrats was okay, Doug certainly had its moments, but I don't recall being overly fond of Ren and Stimpy. Some of the stuff I remember goes along well with my sense of humor today so I might need to give it a second try as an adult.
-
ah i forgot about pepper ann. lol
ren, and stimpy was so popular when i was a kid, and i loved it too. now, though, i think it's just lame.
-
Scandalous !
-
Yeah, I've decided that Rocko's Modern Life was definitely my favorite Nicktoon, if only for the sole reason that it gave us this:
o3BYQDIvpOE
Oh, and lets not forget this gem of dialogue.
Crappie Jack: Arr, and then, I heard a scream so loud it could be heard down in Davy Jones' locker. Mickey Dolenz's locker too, and Peter Tork's locker. All the Monkees had lockers…

Sorry to double post, but new NC is up. Another Nickelodeon bit as it is "Nick Month" according to the critic. This time he discusses Nickelodeon sitcoms.

Never saw You Can't do That on Television. Clarissa Explains it All and Salute Your Shorts were okay, I remember them fondly. Oh, and I'm glad to see that it's not just me that thought Hey Dude was the boring piece of horse sh*t on the planet (seriously, I don't think I even made it past the opening credits). And Pete and Pete was good, but I didn't watch it nearly as much as I should have.
-
i barely remember you can't do that on television….but then again, i watched it when it aired in canada...when did it air in the states.
i remember of clairisa and that pete and pete show, though never bothered to watch them. no idea of that other one.
-
Pete and Pete was the best. My friend recently hooked me up with Polaris' album, which is the soundtrack to the show.
-
i remember these but i was pretty young…never liked pete and pete from what i remember. Probably cuz i was young.
Where the fuck was My Brother and Me, Kenan and Kel, and Cousin Skeeter (lmfao)

Didn't My Brother and Me have, like, seven episodes or something? Also, I think he didn't mention Kenan and Kel and Cousin Skeeter because they came later, after he lost interest in Nick (they were good though). I'm actually really surprised he didn't mention All That.
-
All That will likely be in the SNICK episode coming up in two weeks alongside Are you Afraid of the Dark, Secret World of Alex Mac, and all those shows. I'm assuming at least.
-
i really really miss the secret world of alex mac. that was an awsome show. wonders if it was released on DVD
-
I wonder if he'll talk about the game shows that used to be on Nick? I know that he already mentioned Double Dare awhile back. But, there are plenty of other classics: GUTS, Wild and Crazy Kids, Nick Arcade, What Would You Do?, and Legends of the Hidden Temple.
-
I'm waiting on Nick Jr.
-
He'll get to it, I'm sure.
I'm personally waiting for the Nick Game Shows.
-
Gella Gella Island
or however the hell you spell it
-
^Oh I had totally forgotten about that show. That's the one with the giant retarded frog right?
-
Gulla Gulla Island, you mean. And yes, it's the one with the frog.
But yeah, Nick Jr. should be awesome. Because we'll get to see Eureka's Castle, and maybe even some old-school anime?

Huh, I don't remember any old-school anime on Nick Jr. Anyone remember Rupert?
-
Sure I remember Rupert.
But you must be younger than me, because when I was little there was TONS of anime on Nick Jr.
My favorites were:

Well I was born in '88, but in retrospect I actually can't remember a lot of the Nick Jr. shows. Oh, and I've heard of the Grimm's Fairy Tales show but I didn't know that was on Nick Jr. Oh, I also remember Rugrats used to be on it.
-
rupert was british wasnt it?
how bout that one show Richard Scary or something
-
nope, canadian ^^
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rupert_(TV_seriesmick toons must have known the good stuff.
-
I remember Face from Nick jr.(the talking face between commercials and shows for those of you who don't remember) He was always a little weird. His face changed colors so many times. Today you'd probably think you were on some kind of drugs.
-
i remember him
i also remember the day when he wasnt on there anymore. Thus the day i officially quit nick jr
edit: no it wasnt…i think that was during the time blues clues started or around the end of the steve era idk probably 97ish
-
New one is out: Snick
I hated that Kenan and Kel movie, i just liked the show…i swore at the end he was gonna say spongebob
-
Pretty good review. I think he gave proper to each of the shows. But wasn't there some show on Snick where two guys dressed up in blue and red furry costumes? Not that I watched it.
Also I agree Ty, I liked the Kenan and Kel show but the movie was pretty bad. I mean the whole haunted house and headless man thing was completely out of left field. Probably wasn't the best exposure the NC could've had to K&K.
-
The weird thing about Roundhouse, I remember the show, but couldn't even remember the slightest thing about it until NC mentioned them. All That was pretty funny back in the day with the original cast members. But, I stopped watching in '97 or so when some members were replaced.
I'm really looking forward to his review of Good Burger. I actually enjoyed it when I was younger, and saw it in theaters on the opening weekend, but haven't seen it since. So, it'll be nice to see the things he points out that I missed back then.
-
He's reviewing my favorite movie next week!
-
On the TGWTG forum, Good Burger was a high NC request. I think it is good choice to review because it was one of Nick's first movies.
-
It's really a shame that he couldn't find any vidoes for the old Nickelodeon game shows (a DAMN shame), but Good Burger should be a funny review, if his initial reaction is anything to go by.
-
This is hilarious. Doug's take on Obama's inauguration
-
I just saw the inauguration spoof. I couldn't stop laughing. Endor, Doug's Jar-Jar voice, and Batman's thumbs up was priceless.
-
LOL!!!
That was freaking hilarious!!
-
The final episode for Nick month. The NC's review of Good Burger.

I think one of his best ever. My order is more reviews

"Heil Mondo Burger!" was priceless! XD

The Nostalgia Critic and Nostalgia Chick team up to review Ferngully!
http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/4191-ferngully
Actually, I thought it was just…meh.
-
i thought it was entertaining

i thought it was entertaining
Well, I'm glad you liked it. I don't know. I'm sure how much I liked the Nostalgia Critic and Nostalgia Chick teaming up. It certainly wasn't boring, but as a review I'm not sure how well they "click". It seemed like maybe it was too wacky or something. Well, to each his own.
-
I remember watching Ferngully a few times as a kid. The whole preachy message of saving the rainforest pretty much went over my head back then. The whole bickering between Critic and Chick was hilarious, as well as their comments. Though I have to disagree about Robin Williams' role as Batty being annoying. I rewatched this movie awhile back, and thought he was kinda funny.
Best parts:
- Big-lipped Alligator Moment
- Rocky Horror Picture Show reference
- Awkward romantic scene
-
It was ok. I never knew Nostalgia Chick existed untill now. She's not as good as Nostalgia critic. He needs to train her some more. But together they were ok. The vid itself was boring except for the big lipped aligator moment and the fighting. But hey the movie itself sounded terrible enough that they didnt really ahve to poitn it out.
-
Twas pretty good, they have this sort of brother/sister thing going on which keeps it from being totaly stilted, But i couldve done without 50% of the fighting. And it seemed like they both didnt get enough time to shine.
But if this means i dont get a real nostalgia chick fix this month im going berserk. I dont think i can hanker by on just Linkara, Spoony and Doug for another 30 days.
-
I thought it was pretty good as well. This review had some good moments.
-
Just thought I'd spread the word, Doug's holding a T-shirt contest.

This week the NC reviews A Kid in King Arthur's Court
-
I never saw the film but I do remember seeing it at the video store and thinking how stupid it looked. Hilarious how this and the third Turtles movie have horrible shots of guys falling off buildings.
