No one would be able to survive the amount of strikes necessary to notice and actually get used to any (very subtle) habits in Netero's attacks. The king only stood a chance because he couldn't be hurt by the attacks themselves. I doubt anybody else in the series has the ability to take that many hits from an attack of that caliber.

As for this fight, I'm pretty convinced it will end before a conclusion. I feel like there is more to be done with the spiders and Hisoka is definitely going to play a part in the future because of relations with Gon.

It's true that he does have the power of one of the phantom. Do they really trust him that much? He just did a pretty lengthy explanation of his power and he also has to hope Chrollo will return. I did appreciate the amount of caution they had even with each other so them being ok with trusting their power to Chrollo and giving their full extend is kind of disapointing.

Well I disagree by big part with what you try to point out in Neteros character. Do you remember that Netero was cunning enough to pull Meruem into a fight using knowledge about Meruem's name ? Also that he chose specified underground location to minimize damage that setting bomb did to area around? Old Netero was strong and smart enough to get a chance to give a fight to somebody who was said before fight to be so much stronger that Netero will not be able to land a single attack. Even if he was sure to loose in direct combat he secured killing his opponent.

Well considering that he barely survived a fight with Maha in his prime. Not to mention Netero himself has stated he's not the strongest anymore so it's possible to overcome his ability.

I think he means that, despite how effective it was, it's somewhat simplistic, in the sense that it comes down to using brute force, instead of having some fancy effect.

My biggest problem is it feels like the perfect for a world based on brute force. I see Hisoka and what matters is whether or not he can use his abilities the right way ro win, I see Netero and all that matters is who is stronger. A scooter doesn't tell you much with Hisoka, with Netero it's what matters(thankfully his ki is really high).

Simplicity worked with the king because he was power. When the world's greatest give me something this basic, I'm disappointed.

Well, actually he wasn't the world stongest. He said to Morau and Knov that he isn't the strongest for now 50 years. We know Ging is one of the 5 strongest nen users ( not hunter but nen user ), so maybe at least Gin is stronger. And also, we can expect him to be as strong as adult Gon.

And Netero's an enhancer, it's completely normal that he has a simple technique.

I doubt not being in his prime changed his nen abilities. As for Gin, I don't care how strong he is. He was part of the greed island project so I would say he already proved he was good.

HxH must be one of the most difficult mangas to scantalate because it is soo damn wordy. One of those chapters is probably the same amount of text as 10 Bleach chapters.

The thing about Netero is that as much as he wasn't in his prime, that didn't matter. No one could defeat him, because his ability was that much refined. Pitou was barely able to see the hand hitting him, Pitou would've never reached Neterro like the King did, he would been hit 10,000 times even before that could happen. Remember Zeno's words, "defeat him? what are you talking about he is always starting with a handicap" I took that as saying, that even the 12th Zodiacs received a handicap, the all powerful king wasn't able to surpass the speed of his praying, I doubt anyone else could. Also, this pretty much confirms it: "WHEN ON EARTH DID IT START?!…" Neterro had been cruising on his monstrous strength until the day he died. Obviously, him being 120 yeard old, affects the potency of his attacks. To make a contrast, if Isaac were in his prime, then you can be damn sure Pitou wouldn't have even seen the hand, and been obliterated with that one hit.

In regards with his words about Gin, I thought he used the word unique, referring to the potential of his Nen. On the other hand, I believe the gap between the previous president and everyone else was unique. However Ging is in his prime, so his nen will probably still get stronger.

Hell, when was the last time a weekly manga managed to get this convey this level of choreography, tension, and brute force when attacks hit? Wow. Props to you Togashi, you may be inconsistent, but when you produce a chapter where characters stop blurting out irrelevant drivel and get down to business, its gold.

I just don't agree on this. I liked this chapter a lot, but i also like the last ten chapters before the fight, i like them a lot. They are very interesting and all.

You gotta admit the Kurapika chapter right before this fight was 60% irrelevant drivel. Supercomplicated, overdone analysis on how to make an application, which turned out to be wrong anyway. Sure, there were a few bits of info here and there that were important, but the exposition was far more detailed than it ever needed to be.

Same with the Chrollo's ability explanation. Talk talk talk to explain these abilities, make them sound super complicated, when actually they're fairly straightforward and could have easily been dealt with in a couple of pages (as opposed to an entire chapter).

I love Togashi but sometimes I feel like he's genuinely trying to confuse his readers with dense walls of text. It's a manga, not an essay!

Gotta agree with TLC, this was the best HxH chapter in a loooong while. Battle Whores, wathever, I said a long time ago that when Togashi gets into his battle mode, he's seriously good. And this chapter proved it.

I also gotta (reluctantly) agree that Chrollo doing all the endless explaining during the last two chapters helped us know his limits, what he can do, what he can't, etc. . .so we know when an ability is off limits or if its playing by the set rules. And even then, there's that "dead nen user" thingie that I didn't understand.

We've seen examples in the past of how death can actually make a nen ability stronger if it is based in particularly negative or strong emotions. Like when Pitou's puppeteer nen summon became even more powerful after Gon killed her. This, I believe, is one of those examples. The sun/moon-bomb user's death only made the nen stronger instead of making it disappear.

1- Yes, the ability was sun and moon.
2-His ability should have disappeared at his death but grew stronger instead.
3-Like any ability he needs the book to use. Only difference is he is sure it won't dissapear from the book.
4-It also means bigger explosion since if you nen doesn't dissapear at death it becomes even better.
