Correct me if I am wrong, but is Toga even with the villains at the moment? I know Spinner, Dabi and Sceptic are but the last we saw of Toga was her fight with Ochako, and she was shown to be on her own when the last arc ended.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...
My Hero Academia II - A true Hero

Toga was left far behind Gigantomachia after she jumped off to confront Ochako.
So she was seperated by miles. She did say she was "going back to the League" as she was running after their scuffle,
but it's unconfirmed if she made it back to them yet. -
I think most schools with hero programs became shelters so I'm assuming she got turned away from other schools. But, I don't see it as an isolated incident. My Hero Vigilantes and Spinner would indicate otherwise. Maybe not widespread but it's there.
Thats the thing tho. For me thats the difference between a local store turning away a gay person as its policy and a wallmart turning away a gay person as its policy. I thought the idea was that racism existed not that it was the norm and could just be an open display by big corporation in life and death situation. Thats seems very odd to me.

New Vigilantes chapter
! Surprise! Turns out it was AFO all along
Now I got Agatha All Along stuck in head again, PH.
But, yeah, it makes sense. A true remnant of O'Clock wouldn't be so nonchalant about killing. And, we've only seen actual talking vestiges from One For All and All For One. So that means Number 6 has a copy of All For One with all his quirks pre-installed. I can see AFO deciding not to give Shigaraki Overclock because Number 6 failed to kill Koichi with it. If it can't take out The Crawler, no way is it taking down an One For All user.
-
They really went for Mon-chan but can't show amputated fingers. Censorship is weird.
-
That is an specific no-no because yakuzas
-
Makes sense, but it's not like he lost a phalange. He lost half of one hand resulting in losing three hands.
Also:
Can't show a parent beating his child. But can show him hitting the child's face with a gardening tool resulting in a scar.
god censorship is dumb. -
Wait
! What's up with the "You knew the whole time?".
We know that Stain probably saw Toshinori when he visited Shigaraki Sr., but Toshinori didn't have the time to talk to Stain. What's in the paper Stain the Snitch? Also he's been busy, upping his body count from 17 to 40. I bet he made a checklist of post war retired heroes. -
Welp, I sure as hell didn´t have "Stain gives All Might a therapy session" in my bingo card, but that was cool, still want Iida to kick the guy´s ass though. I hope next chapter we see how the villains are doing, it would be fitting considering that their arc in the anime is about to end.

I think All Might meant that Stain knew from the start that he was All Might, I mean if he knows about Kamino, learning about Toshi true form isn´t difficult. Internet is surprinsingly still a thing in MHA´s Japan after all.
-
The sapiness of the last couple wasnt that much for me but I really liked the talk in this one.

You're probably right. In his previous appearance it might indicated that he was tailing Deku and Toshinori. And he also added names to the kill list form 17 to 40.
-
That's also why, as All Might noticed, Stain emitted no killing intent towards him throughout their interaction.
Oh man, what a chapter.
The woman being the same person All Might protected at Kamino…
That was really powerful for me.This was awesome stuff. Well said, Stain.
I don't condone the murders, but your words were on point. -
Had no idea we were getting a chapter today. Good chapter. It's nice seeing the good guys being hopeful before things inevitably go south again.
I wonder what's gonna become of Stain going forward. I don't see him surviving until the end of the series.
-
I wouldn't call the last batch of chapters bad, but they definitely were a bit overdramatic. Most of the time I were left thinking "I get this but I don't feel this" and I'd wager some of that is attributed to lack of emotional build up. Deku's descent into darkness was treated like a massive event when for us readers the entire thing happened over a few chapters, Uraraka had a wonderful character moment undercut by the fact that she's been consistently sidelined and left unexplored for entire arcs, and so forth. I'm not blaming Horikoshi for things turning out like that, it's a lot of story threads to juggle and for what it's worth most developments felt natural - they just lacked that extra oomph.
This chapter was all of that done right. It's not an earth-shattering chapter but it draws on plot threads that have been built up across the entire series. There's no overdramatic crowd, just All Might and Stain talking. I expected Stain's return to involve some kinda battle or run-in with Deku or Iida but this is much better. Just a fan - a deranged, murderous fan - but still one of the few guys who gets it help his hero get back on his feet. And having that one civilian clean up the statue was wonderful. The entire thing fills me with genuine optimism. It's a great way to show that even if there's hordes of people hounding you, there might always be that one person whose life you changed for the better and that's what matters.
All Might's easily become my favourite character. From the start I hoped this series would come to the conclusion that real heroism comes from the heart, not powers or quirks. Horikoshi has shown he's capable of making that kind of sappy message work. But I expected Deku to learn that, not All Might. Not that I'm complaining. I love this direction for him and if all goes well he might pass it on to Deku later.
-
Stain not hurting All Might was obvious, what wasn't obvious was that Stain would be the one to give him the pep talk.
-

I think the main issue is that Deku went dark really suddenly and basically out of nowhere. Yeah the failure to stop all the destruction in the big incident was obviously big, but there was no real inciting incident to make him go specifically "I have to keep all my friends out of harm's way" and "I don't need All Might anymore" and go into his McFarlane phase. It was a little too much, too sudden, so that's why the payofs aren't quite landing.
-
Man, they did the whole MVA is 5 chapters. Not even six. Not even half cour.
-

It also doesn't help that all these characters have been neglected for the entire series so suddenly expecting us to care about their emotional connection to Deku was too much.
As is the whole arc came off as a very overly melodramtic and protracted story to give Deku a bath.

That's a great point. It's a shame since the building blocks were right there in the fight against the vilains, but instead of focusing on Deku losing himself we get a Todoroki flashback…
-
Man, the anime really did Spinner dirty. The episode was fine in general, but the whole arc was butchered from start to finish.
Hell, even though they had completely cut off the intro with the CRC and the scene afterwards where Spinner confronts Shigaraki, they decided to show a flashback of Compress sushi joke so they could keep the joke, except it´s not longer a callback at all…
-
If, during the big fight, some of Deku's classmates had actually gotten hurt, or one of them had even gasp died! Then the entire thing would have worked better, INCLUDING the other students insisting "we made this choice and we're in for it anyway." Deku's actions would have made perfect sense then, and his classmates insisting they take those risks anyway would have landed stronger.
Yeah, random D string heroes we never heard of died, but no one we cared about. Bakugo taking a hit doesn't even count because he wasn't even out of action for very long after.
Heck, at least have Deku see what happened to Aizama having lost an eye and a leg, and blame himself for that. Actually use the one casualty we did get that Deku knows. And then have him on-camera say to himself "what if that happened to X? Or Y?" That'd be something.

He's a teenager, they over-dramatize everything.

Are you referring to Midnight, because I was going to say that Deku DID lose a teacher.
-
Oh wow. I completely forgot she even died. Since her death was off camera, not dramatized, and a sub note.
So yeah. The narrative REALLY dropped the ball then. It actually did the thing I asked for, and did it so poorly it didn't even register.
Certainly not as a motivator for Deku to go into 90's mode.
I was thinking of Aizawa since he appeared in the most recent chapter with his injuries and was actually at the specific fight Deku was involved in and hurt partly because of Deku..
-
Man, they did the whole MVA is 5 chapters. Not even six. Not even half cour.
I still can't get over them spoiling the ending by doing the Endeavor Agency Arc first. What helped make MVA interesting was not knowing which villains could die. But yeah, sucks a lot of the smaller scenes were cut. The League is at it's best when they're interacting with each other like a deranged, but still somewhat loving, family.

Midnight deserved better than that. Especially if you seen her appearances in My Hero Vigilantes. And I'm still waiting for Aizawa and Present Mic's reaction/talk about it. They went to high school with her for goodness sake.

The spoiled at the end on the Joint training by commenting on the Deika City incident. That was before the Christmas Party. Re-Destro lost his introduction, the MLA leader look like a bunch of chumps they added a flashback of a non existing scene only to keep the sushi joke.

Is it weird that they all are the same age yet, Nemuri was on the 3rd year when Aizawa and Mic were on the 2nd?
-

Birthdate can make a difference. For instance, I was born in early August, so I was always the youngest in my class, every year. But, if I'd been born a week or two later at the end of August or the start of September, I might have been held off from school for another year and I'd have always been the oldest instead.
Same with if you get a January birthday. You can be born the same year as everyone else and still be about a year older, while a December birthday would always make you younger.

! Dude let me in I'm All Might.

New Vigilantes chapter is out
! All Gruff is here!
-
GOD FUCKING DAMMINT YOU MAD LADS
! Mr. Oguro is back.
-
Hmm… Those rapid-fire punches. Most of his face hidden in shadow... Could that actually be Rappa disguised as Knuckleduster? If not, then KD is in big trouble unless he went full Batman in preparation of this fight.
-
Kyaaaaaa, can't believe he's back

The hero know as The Rapper wouldn't know about the brass knuckles whereabouts. Mr. Oguro, with 3 years prep time. Nothing can beat him.
We thought Nomura was hallucinating O'Clock, we though it was an AFO vestige, but it was actually just Mr. Oguro narrating his own thought process. -
Well, there's definitely something going on there. Yeah, I agree, we know KD is Batman level prepared so I've no doubt he's ready to rock. I just want to know how he was able to deliver that many hard blows and what's gonna keep No. 6 from ripping him to pieces after he heals. Maybe…both Rappa and Oguro are there dressed as Knuckleduster?
-
Don't give me Rapper dreams Nectar.
-
Stain was always an ally.
-
So I guess the series really is in its endgame given that they only have two months before Shigaraki's completed.
-
Wholesome energy.
…how long until the next tragedy strikes you guys?

Stain's love letter
Only a true hero may act as the recipient of this information. That disqualifies the phonies, riffraff, and outlaws who bear false mantles and act solely out of contemptible self interest.
All Might is the only hero worthy of my respect.
All Might is the only one worthy of ending my life.
Now, more than ever, the masses cry out for that unshakeable sense of justice he embodies. That pure, absolute justice.
The world has grown dark indeed, which is precisely why the symbol of peace must stand as the vanguard and lead us all to a more just society.

It's interesting that both MHA and Dr. Stone, two of the current main series in WSJ are heading into the final stages of their stories

! There's three days till Shigi completion. Once again Hori is speed running things.

Stain's love letter
Stain? More like Stan.
Thanks for that, btw, didn't feel like zooming in and reading it.

! Not that I'm overly optimistic about it, but you can stretch out three days for quite a long time.

Heck, five minutes in Dragonball or HxH can be dozens of chapters.

Heck, five minutes in Dragonball or HxH can be dozens of chapters.
It was only nine chapters in the original Dragon Ball comic (#320-329)! Dragon Ball Z turned this into ten episodes due to Episode #102 not covering any pages of the comic. Uchiyama Masayuki (Last House) being the episode's animation supervisor despite all of the key animators being in-house Toei Animation animators seems to suggest that the episode was thrown together at the last second due to catching up with the comic. The comic was only on Chapter #336 when Episode #101 (covering pages from Chapter #324) aired.

All Might's apprentice being a muscle girl is so Horikoshi.
