Holy mackerel, there are actually people (not in this forum) who thought Luffy's and Katakuri's attacks didn't land.
Why.

I initially thought Pudding would mess with Sanji's memory.
Interesting if Luffy transforms to Katakuri using Brulees power.
Glad this is ending soon, but still feeling meh about this turn of events.
Pekoms coming out of nowhere with Brulee knowing about Pedros allahu akbar.
Luffy taking on Kaido first when he barely could manage Big Mom's commander.
Big Mom still chasing the motherfucking cake for fucks sake.
:getlost:
Luffy taking on Kaido first when he barely could manage Big Mom's commander.
Lol, yea it'll be tough. I still find it funny that people wanted Katakuri to defeat Luffy, and then have him go on to fight Kaido.
It was my favorite Luffy fight of the entire manga. I really hope Toei brings the A team to animate it. I loved the way Luffy covered Katakuri's mouth with his mafia hat.
First read, I thought Pudding's request was to kiss Sanji to complete the ceremony and make the marriage "official".
But I doubt it actually happened even if she requested it. I always thought they would part as fiancees with their marriage being postponed to the epilogue of the manga.
I hope Sanji will do something really impressive and manage to save his captain on his own but I fear he will not make it until Germa intervene.
Do the SFX after Pudding takes Sanji's cigarette give us insight into what happened? The spoilers seemed to suggest that she wanted him to stop smoking but now I think we're meant to assume that she kissed him.
I think not kissing. if they're kissing, the next panel will show sanji pervert expression and love sign everywhere.
How in the world did Pekoms manage to enter the mirror world when Brulee is already inside of it ? I'm not really happy with kind of asspull.

Who says she was inside of it?
Great chapter, a good way to end Katakuri vs Luffy.
I had doubts at first, after reading the spoilers, but in the chapter it had been done nicely. :)
Pudding probably got her kiss form Sanji, but she must erased the memory from his mind.
That's my guess.
Can't wait for next week!
Sanji has to man up for his captain for once!
Serious time man, minutes left on the clock!
Gots to keep himself together and if the moment between the 2 is serious Sanji might just be holding himself back….until he can unleash the beast later.
Hey, if Sanji no longer blowing a gasket after getting kissed by a cute girl (at least sometimes) isn't considered character development, I don't know what is.
There's no way it wouldn't be on his mind hours later if it actually happened and he didn't have his memory erased, which is what most likely occurred. FelRes's enactment is very possibly spot-on.
How in the world did Pekoms manage to enter the mirror world when Brulee is already inside of it ? I'm not really happy with kind of asspull.
For all we know, he captured Brulee outside of the Mirror World. Or he simply used Brulee's house in order to enter the Mirror World.
I forgot about this detail. Thanks for mentioning it.
That was a cool chapter, I hope Oda can wrap this up in the next 3-6 chapters now.
Why erase Sanj's memories, i don't see how it'd make sense for her to erase memories of the one of few people who geniunely respects her. There is so much more she could do with memories, for example, insert new fighting skills in his memory like in matrix.
If there is memories removed it would be just the kiss, not her existence from Sanji.
We shall see if there was any memory tampering later and what the request was.
They will meet again.
Great chapter, and amazing end to the fight. It's my new favorite fight in One Piece, which after the Doflamingo fight I'm kind of happy, I felt like that fight was meh and anticlimactic after the long arc we had with Dressrosa. My favorite fights in OP are the ones like Luffy and Kata, where you can feel the legend of the fight being born as you watch it. I'm a huge fan of the long, hours-long brawls because I feel like it gives Luffy fights similar to the other huge players in OP like the Kuzan-Sakazuki fight, and some of the older Roger-Garp fights we hear about.
The comment made by Katakuri is interesting, could it be possibly taken as a potential time skip? He says "You're looking pretty far into the future."
At first I figured that was just Katakuri saying that he has a long road ahead of him, but he still kind of underestimates how fast Luffy will conquer the Yonko, but maybe Oda is hinting at the time starting to stretch over years in the coming manga arcs? Kind of a stretch, but possible.
As for the final hits from both, does Katakuri's punch hit? It looks like Luffy shrinks himself to normal size to duck the punch, then hit Katakuri, but I could be misreading it.

It would make their premature divorce go smoother and keep him from looking back to Whole Cake. Feels like a really random time to stick a new move into his head since we're dealing with her character arc and not a Sanji fight.

Sanji not remembering shit would make this divorce feel incomplete.
It came across more as a draw than the spoilers indicated. Even if it hadn't, I still find this being a dignified send off for Katakuri. As much as I sort of hate Pudding, I thought her exchange with Sanji was honest to god cute. It feels really nice to see all of this shit wrap up.
Also, the mysterious Nazoms look like a good Nakama candidate.
Sanji not remembering shit would make this divorce feel incomplete.
That's why mindwiping is always the most unsatisfying way to wrap up a plot point.
Pudding erasing Sanji's memories of her would be bad. Worse than when Oda brought back Bellamy.

Katakuri's attack did hit. Look closely and you can see blood dripping from his Diced Mochi arm. I think it didn't connect completely though due to him getting hit by King Cobra.
hate to be that guy, but oda didn't manage to sell me luffy's win… but it's true that a guy used to avoid damage completely might have less resistance... but the difference in this regard between luffy and kata was way too much... luffy took and indescribable amount of damage while katakuri took like a tenth of that and went down...
I would have cared about the sanji and pudding scene if I actually cared about pudding and if she wasn't the part when this entire arc started falling apart plot-wise... I mean I enjoyed the first and third act, but there will always be that second act that doesn't make any goddamn sense.

Honestly I feel you, it does get kinda tiring that Luffy can just take hit after hit after hit and have a chunk of meat even taken out of him… take that GIANT hit that Katakuri gave him at the end and still just walk away. I mean the spoilers said he managed to dodge it and that I could buy but... I sorta feel like what's the point of enemies even attacking him if he's just going to get up and walk away anyway?
Now don't get me wrong, I still loved the chapter and how the fight ended, but I understand where people who say that are coming from
Ehm, what do you think happens when a guy fights daily for 2 years against vicious beasts everday, every hour, only takes breaks for eating and sleeping vs a guy who has not been fighting seriously for years and is used to chilling with his mama in the New World…
The ending of the fight was incredibly anti-climactic after the amazing action sequences last chapter. From +100 to -50.
Katakuri stood up (the impact of the blow he took beforehand was not displayed properly) to ask if Luffy would return to beat his mommy, only to fall down right afterwards?
Pekoms appearing out of nowhere to save Luffy. What´s next, Pedro and Pound appear behind him?
Sanji casually sitting in an alley next to hundreds of supposedly strong pirates. Nobody has CoO there or is Sanji magically hiding his aura now?
Pudding going for the goodbye or marriage sealing kiss. OK that´s ballsy, girl. Best part of the chapter.
BM pirates talking crap.
Feels like Oda was talking to his 5 years old self and not his 15 year old self while creating this chapter. It was a mess. Like wow.
Probably the worst Totland chapter for me. Oh well, shit happens.

That's a lot of weird things to get upset about it.
That is a nice chapter, glad this fight ended this way, and Katakuri was really a worthy opponent, looking forward to fight him again and all, Luffy being a gentlemen and hiding his mouth too, i also suspect Pudding kissing Sanji, what she did was unforgivable, i don't like her but if she got a change of heart then it will be useful for upcoming events and that is great!

Luffy has always had insane endurance. That's one of his strongest points. This has always been a thing from the start and we've seen him take tons of damage from attacks meant to knock him out or kill him while he gets back up numerous times. Idk why everyone keeps forgetting this.

Out of all the chapters in this arc to say is the worst and is a complete mess, and for those reasons… Well alright then.
Pe! Pe! Pe! Nazoms !!!?? Yahooooo!
With this I might finally get the Pekoms merchandise I have been dreaming of.
That's a lot of weird things to get upset about it.
What is your signature from ? Looks fun.
Oda keeps it going with the mysterious new characters. First "Gangster Gastino" and then "Nazoms". Nazoms looks a little bit like that Lion Mink we encountered on Big Mom's ship, but his design is so much cooler.
Holy mackerel, there are actually people (not in this forum) who thought Luffy's and Katakuri's attacks didn't land.
Why.
It was my first reaction, too. That they stopped their attacks mid air or something.
Last chapter ended with their attacks being far away from each other, now it continued with the arm above Luffy and snake fist in front of Katakuri. It felt like a page missing.
We only got to see the after effect but not the actualy hits.
It was a bit confusing.
Do you see that full moon in the last panel, just behind the exit mirror ?
It's time for Pekoms to rock the true lion form booiiiii !!!

again, a thing is luffy being durable, another is such a disparity in endurance between him and what is supposed to be an high level player of the new world.
luffy took a lot of abuse from lucci, but dealed as much to him and by the end he couldn't move a finger.
here he took 10 times the abuse the opponent did,and by the end is there walking while katakuri is flat on the ground…there's being resilient and then there's "damage doesn't actually matter" resilient.
It may not sound like it, but I liked the chapter.

He is good hearted idiot(in grey area of morality but still, for pirate he is quite soft). He is below likes of Jinbe and Monster Trio(in my opinion) when it comes to strength. He is cute. He has absolutely original design.
His power - diamond hard shell - would be great for combos with rest of Strawhats. For example Sanji kicking him towards enemies.
He surely was loyal to Big Mom because of her dream to Unite all Nations of different types of humanoid creatures and people.
We have his tendencies that Pedro mentioned and that were not yet explained.
I think Luffy will invite him to Strawhats after this arc. Pekoms will have no place in Big Mom pirates after second time he betrayed them and helped Strawhats.
Luffy said during Zou that he will make "them" - Big Mom pirates - his underlings, even as joke I could count it as foreshadowing if he invites Pekoms.
I strongly hope for it.

Why would he transform now?
If that is your definition of a draw, Luffy lost against Moria or it was a draw, he lost against Krieg, it was a draw against Lucci, he lost against Doflamingo.
None of these were treated as anything but Luffy´s victory, and this time it´s teh same with both Pekoms and Brulee point out Katakuri is defeated…
Another case of headcanon
Sanji casually sitting in an alley next to hundreds of supposedly strong pirates. Nobody has CoO there or is Sanji magically hiding his aura now?
you seem to misunderstand how observation haki actually works
first, it's not a radar, second you don't immediately know if someone is in proximity if you don't actually either try to listen or the person is in such frenzy (like caribou was when kidnapping shirahoshi) that his "voice" rises enough to be heard.
we know it's not a radar because if all you can do it's here indiscriminately everyone around you you end up like aisa and coby at marineford and that takes a lot from you.
the difference between being able to master obeservation and their form is in fact the ability to hear when and what you wanna hear.
we are not talking about aura and power level here, it's about will and intent@Blissed:
Why would he transform now?
wellto defend himself..at the moment he is basically a traitor, and we already saw that the big mom pirates don't treat well traitors.
To fend off/stall likes of Snack and help Luffy escape.
If his intention was to now suddenly fight/fend off his own crew in order to let Luffy escape, he wouldn't be wearing a disguise to begin with.
here he took 10 times the abuse the opponent did,and by the end is there walking while katakuri is flat on the ground…there's being resilient and then there's "damage doesn't actually matter" resilient.
It does matter though? Unless you think he's going to fight someone else this arc…

Only that Rayleigh knew Luffy arrived on Shabondy, and he can only do that if he has used it as radar…
Granted though, Rayleigh is supposed to be a much higher level Haki user than these guys

You’re not the only one who feels this way. Also, last blow didn’t even make Katakuri budge one bit.
Only that Rayleigh knew Luffy arrived on Shabondy, and he can only do that if he has used it as radar…

or maybe ray was looking for luffy when he checked?
i mean,we saw what happens when you have observation active all the time did we not?

Which still is like a radar, how else you gonna distinguish and pinpoint where he is…
Rayleigh also immediately could tell how many animals lived on the island they trained on and how strong they were.
Yep, with people who had no idea what is happening to them.
Rayleigh is a Haki master, so it´s entirely possible that with enough mastery, you get to the point that it does not bother you that much.
And Katakuri had his CoO active all the time as well, only that it´s FS.

I would believe you if I hadn´t seen Rayleigh scout an entire island for animals, gauge their power level, compare them to Luffy, to tell him how many stronger oponents there are. It´s safe to assume not every one of those had a killing intent at the time Ray used his scouter.
OK Rayleigh is a legendary pirate but to think none of the hundreds of strong pirates near the mirror has proper CoO is super convenient. It would be more believable if Sanji was a mile up in the air and not sitting right next to them.
I´d prefer if people could "hide their presence" (like what Pedro seemingly did on Zou) than Yonkou crew nearby - nobody has Observation / scans the surroundings for an ambush (somebody providing help for Luffy). The former means Sanji is amazing, the latter implies incompetence on the BM pirate side.
If his intention was to now suddenly fight/fend off his own crew in order to let Luffy escape, he wouldn't be wearing a disguise to begin with.
It does matter though? Unless you think he's going to fight someone else this arc…
He has to get out of Mirror World.
He was schocked that Luffy recognized him instantly- he thought he is disguised.. He will have to fight and help.
Nazoms might not fight directly but his transformation can give them the speed boost they need to escape.
Which still is like a radar, how else you gonna distinguish and pinpoint where he is…

what i meant when i said that it's not a radar is that it's not like you are gonna get a "blip" every time another voice pops up in your "space",of course you can pinpoint the location of someone based on his or her "voice"
One thing I forgot to mention: Nezoms scene doesn't really work because we didn't got any update on Brulee. Oh, he captured her… from being captured by Luffy!?
Last time we saw Brulee she was Luffy's captive, so Nazoms capturing her now doesn't really had much sense. Maybe Oda planned to show us an update on Brulee (she escaping from Luffy or being set free by him) and just forgot he didn't actually added that to the story?
If that is your definition of a draw, Luffy lost against Moria or it was a draw, he lost against Krieg, it was a draw against Lucci, he lost against Doflamingo.

I specifically said I consider it a draw because both were knocked unconscious at the same time, something that didn't happen in any of the examples you used (even if just for a second, we could see Luffy was still awake after his enemy was knocked out. Even in the Moriah case, where we couldn't see his face, Oda had Luffy lifting his hand when he was shown on the ground).
(EDIT: Also, in all those cases Luffy knocked the enemy off and then fell unconscious out of exhaustion. In none of those he was knocked off by the enemy's attack.)
But yeah, it is my interpretation, so get over it.
