The official OST for the TYBW arc was released this week. I swear Sagisu is a master of his craft... sadly the soundtrack during Oetsu vs Schutzstaffel is not included.

Yeah, Sagisu really outdid himself yet again. I feel like there just isn't enough global recognition for this guy, because the way he combines genres really is something I'm not used to hearing from other composers. Furthermore, I'm just endlessly blown away by his ability to display such powerful emotion through his music. The big choir pieces just knock me off of my feet every time I listen to them.
It's so hard to pick a favorite piece. The guitar pieces are all insanely good, I don't think I've ever heard such crisp guitars outside of Sagisu's work. CHOKAKKU's handling of Sagisu's compositions is really rich.

Pierrot showing off. Need to do Yu Yu from ep 1 next

we really are way too lenient with Kubo, aren't we?
Look at Japan's history with eugenics, looks at how japanese WWII war crimes are obfuscated, look at the liberal anticommunist relativization of nazis, look at the prevalence of Triumph of the Will in media semi-optics, yeah Kubo sure (as many others) deserve to e way more shat because of this.

I'm all caught up and I just want to say that holy shit the anime fixed a bunch of stuff that was jarring in the manga.
How they handle her eventual loss is...well, something to look forward to. But other than that, squad zero actually delivered the hype they were given in the anime adaptation. I don't know how they can make her loss acceptable but at the very least they did make the quincy royal guards look bad twice. And that one additional line that implies that all of the squad zero members are holding back because of the consequences if they don't add so much more to the enjoyment of this. -
"I didn't think the Mustache man would steal my power," sobs woman who voted for the Mustache man stealing people's power party
-
I'm behind because I'm watching the dub on hulu, which is a month delayed for whatever reason. But watching Ichigo fight the femcies is essentially what I wanted the quincy to do all along.
Pretty much green lanterns with varying reishi constructs. Not random bs powers that don't make sense with quincy.
-
Should I read Burn the Witch or watch it?
-
Either or? The animated version is well made, and the voice actors are great.
-
So I decided to check CFYOW, and it's okay, I guess. I've only read the first volume, so I'll reserve judgment. But it does feel like an arc that could have happened between Soul Society and the Arrancar arcs. Obviously tweaked because it occurs after TTYBW, but have the Fullbringer arc, then this, then gear up for the Arrancar arc. It would certainly help with world building and character development.
Granted, I am saying this as a reader divorced from the actual writing process and publishing requirements of SJ, but still.

Another gorgeous orchestral piece from Sagisu Shirou. I can't wait for the next OST to be released. Speaking of which, the first one was finally added to Spotify and YouTube officially (as well as other carriers, I'm sure). It's so hard not to fall in love all over again.
-
I can't remember if it's been discussed here or not, but Soken Ishida, Uryuu's grandfather, breaks everything about the quincy in TTBW.
-
I mean considering the main antagonist of the arc and what not Soken being the one who breaks everything is kinda funny.
-
So hyped!!!
I wonder when we can expect it?
I must be a fool or nostalgic or both because I’m excited for Bleach again
-
I still don't like the idea of "oh beings with high-level reiatsu just get booted down to hell" but the idea of those strong people opening Hell from the other side is....kinda sick?
-
@MetaMario it's because the soul balance just gets fucked that way. Why would it need to be like that? Much like with the quincy suddenly being spawned all from one guy and being allergic to hollows, it's just something Kubo simply tossed in without really considering how it affects the rest of the world.
-
So is this 100% confirmed that we’re getting a new arc?
Or is this fans getting overly excited?
-
I don't believe there is a release date yet, but this is certainly a signal from Kubo that he would indeed like to release more BLEACH at some point.
-
I got bored of Bleach at the end, but that special chapter was fun. Could this be the fresh breath it needed?
-

It's nothing. Kubo wrote 獄頤鳴鳴篇 on a couple images and people are acting like this is new information or the confirmation of a next arc.
It is literally the same text he used on the Hell-arc one-shot:
Also, Kubo himself translated it as "New Breathes from Hell", so that tweet saying there is "no mention to it" and the text is announcing a new arc is either someone incredibly confused or just lying for clout.
-
@access-timeco damn!
I got so excited for nothing
-
So, I think I may have come up with a way for the quincy-hollow-allergy: only the 'pure blood' quincy are allergic, the mixed blood have the immunity. This could help explain why characters like Uryuu didn't suffer the soul destruction.

Woah, Wakabayashi Atsushi is an action and effects animation supervisor for BLEACH: Thousand Year Blood Wars Cour 3? I wonder how much freedom he will be afforded?
-
I admire the confidence they presented that poem as something really deep, when it is:
Be happy, because you are winning. Because if we win, they will lose. So don't lose, win, so they lose. -
That's the Soul Society in a nutshell, and they've never really been portrayed as anything but pretty fucked up lol
-
The jealously of seeing an anime get it's adaptation long after the manga ended is huge. This looks so good, and all they needed was time. Sorry if this is tangent, but it's frustrating when I've seen so many anime make this mistake when a simple thing can make it right. Although maybe that's not giving Pierrot enough credit.
-
@access-timeco that's been Bleach the whole time. It's just a lot of the hardcore fans like to do the extra work for kubo and make things seem deeper than they really are.
-
The full depth was merely waiting to be revealed in CFYOW.
-
i went on the bleach reddit once and I was stupid and shallow because I didn't read the novels which supposedly made things way deeper and complex than my pea sized brain can comprehend screw you newcomers and kids i was there when kubo was waxing poetry with rain something something but the rain u guys were toddlers then
-
Literally ever fandom does that shit, it's nothing new. Just ignore them.
-
Not to mention Reddit by and large is full of shitty people who demonstrate the fallacy in having a system with upvotes & downvotes.
And also how drunk with power and equal stupidity mods can be.
-
Cour 3? Cool, still need to finish cour 2 lol
-
I hope they add a ton more of Gigi into the third cour.
-
new bleach game bby
-
I finally finished CFYOW, and it was daunting.
I don't know if it's Narita's style, the translation, or something else, but trying to get through that last volume felt like a chore.
-
First episode is out
-
God, I can't wait until we get another Sagisu Shirou OST for this series. Any new tracks for these last two cours are going to be so welcomed. I love how much the music really just sweeps you off your feet.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the staff manage to pull off for the fights this cour. Having Wakabayashi Atsushi—the legend himself!—as an action animation supervisor is kind of insane to think about.
-
Dunno if anyone is keeping up, but it seems Rebirth of Souls is slated for an early 2025 release, and they've been announcing characters pretty consistently weekly. It'll cover to the end of the Arrancar/Aizen stuff
so far we have Ichigo, Uryu, Chad, Rukia, Byakuya, Yoruichi, Urahara, Matsumoto, Hitsugaya, Gin, Tousen, Kenpachi, Bankai Ichigo, and Ulquiorra. -
I love how the next cour of Bleach has started and we're just not saying anything.
-
I mean what is there to say?
-
I'm just busy, but I'm keeping up. I'm really looking forward to the next time we get more music from Sagisu Shirou. A Sagisu album is always so much fun to listen to—I'm always enamoured with how the music is used in-series. Episode #28 was just wall-to-wall overwhelming energy with its music selection. I also really liked seeing Ichigo fight Yhwach again, but this time with a bit more of an advantage. The directing and animation were really nice.
Seeing Gigi again for a quick shot was also awesome. I wish my poor girl got to do more!
-
Am I the only one hoping that when they finally finish Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Kubo will start up the Hell arc in the manga or anime?
-
Nope, same here! I think most the of the fandom is (not so) secretly hoping for that.
-

I definitely look forward to Kubo drawing more BLEACH after that one shot from a few years ago. It was a very exciting comic just seeing the slow-building tension. If Kubo is worried about his health—which I don't blame him—I think it would be interesting to see him structure his story into a short enough format that it can be adapted like a film, ala Jujutsu Kaisen 0 was.
Either way, I'm definitely excited for more—and definitely owe the one-shot a re-read!
-
If we get a Hell arc, I hope Kubo is taking this time to have it properly planned from beginning to end. I don't want a repeat of the Arrancar arc that had all this plotlines being build up only for everything to be thrown out the window because he decided to do a Gotei 13 showdown.
Personally, my only interest in the Hell arc would be regarding the dead characters who could come back. I already gave up on the Visoreds getting any focus, so my only interest in the living cast would be seeing Rukia fighting as a Captain and that's it.As for the anime, they keep doing a good job at elevating the source material. It's funny how sometimes a bad thing turns out to be a blessing, huh? This arc was easily regarded as a huge let down back when it was published, and it would probably ended up just the same in the anime if it was regularly adapted back then. But thanks to the anime being cancelled, it got the chance to have this VIP treatment - allowing Bleach to remain relevant years after it ended in a much more dignified way than other series who cling to spin-offs of questionable quality.
