Gengar being nerfed so badly makes me sad, but I'll live….
He's still super effective against people.

How do you get the job of writing pokedex entries? Because this shit is amazing:

I know the dex having all sorts of horrible lore is nothing new, but man, these things still kill me.

From the article:
! > the soulless expression of Shiinotic, a mushroom Pokemon that kind of looks like Jigglypuff is giving it a blowjob at all times.
I cannot unsee that now XD
Mega Kangaskhan entry is my favorite so far:
! Thanks to Mega Evolution, its child grows. But as the child is good only at fighting and nothing else, its mother feels uneasy about its future.

That article is very entertaining! Thanks for sharing.
You aren't scaring me by pointing out Guzzlord doesn't poop, Game Freak.
scares me more and I never thought of that.I hope I'm not a terrible person for finding this funny as hell.

Daaaaaaaaamn. I always knew I loved Gengar, though.
People who got the pirated game are getting aggressively banned not only from the games but also from other Nintendo internet services.
I got scared and went to the bank to withdrawal my hacked mons because I missread the title. My hacked mons are the traded legendaries that I can't veryfy their authenticity. And some unnowns
If it means that those bitches with spoilery thumbnails and titles on youtube got comeuppance… goood GOOOOOD
If it means all the awesome competitive scene peeps who have been compiling stats and data got boned... then that would suck. But I would hope they were smart enough to NOT try playing the game online before it comes out.

Well, what else would it do? Accounting?

So Nintendo is now last gen Microsoft?
Another nerf found: now Prankster doesn't work against Dark-types.
If a Pokémon with Prankster tries to use a non-damage move against a Dark-type enemy, the move will simply fail.
Ayarya!
Status moves from prankster users will fail? Or just have normal priority? If the first then it becomes very dangerous indeed.

It is the first!
Was the status move psychic type?

Welp. Although I've never used a Prankster pokemon before.
That is what you get for using Whimsicott too much.
Prankster was kind of op though, but its very random and counterintuitive.
So, I'm constantly refreshing Amazon right about now looking for that Shipping confirmation…. I have 2 day Shipping and it says I have guaranteed release-date delivery... but they haven't shipped yet... I would expect they should have by now...

Or not, I didn't read it.
Serebii time.

I might just pull a Diamond/Pearl and make note of where to find my team members. Lol, I distinctly remember spending hours to find a female Ponyta near Eterna City.

Whimsicott only suffers from this in terms of taunt, stun spore and Leech Seed. Substitute does not hit the enemy opponent, nor does tailwind, the latter of which is one of the most common sets. Not to mention that if a slower dark type appears you can have Moonblast for coverage. Main dangers would be houndoom and Bisharp.
The one who really got fucked is Klefki. Seeing how confusion/swagger was nerfed, as was paralysis and thunder wave, and now this. I guess it can still set up screens or spikes (can it?).
Edit: oh man, and poor mega banette…
Can we just take a moment to appreciate that Buzzwole is the best pokemon name ever?
I've got Sun predownloaded right now. Does anyone have an idea of when it'll be available for play? What's the timer on this?
Ugh all the Pokemon I want to use are so sloooooow. Normally I hate using slow Pokemon ingame. And holy crap Wishywashy's school form is insane!!
By sheer fortune four of the pokemon I was planning on using are fast: Ribombee, Salazzle, Lycanroc midday, and Ninetales.

Most pokemon in this gen are slow.
Got both my Moon and Sun just now.
Moon first, Nuzlocke with Rowlet as starter :D
!
Thanks to fortunate coincidences, I won't have to go to work tomorrow. I will probably not be able to play Saturday and most of Sunday 'cause I'm going to meet a friend in a city nearby, but tomorrow I will probably fade into the darkness of my room.
I hope people will blitz through the game during this weekend 'cause I'll be looking for a Drampa in GTS as soon as I come back.
Most pokemon in this gen are slow.
It's really lame. There are a bunch of lines where the final form takes a huge slowdown >_>
And to make it worse, Pyukumuku is basically a mini Wobbuffet? ;-;
Unless I'm stupid and forgot how Pokemon leveling works, couldn't you try to mitigate the problem by getting a +Spd nature and fighting pokemon that drop speed IVs?
edit: looking over the last part….yeah, I REALLY forgot how pokemon bases work.

While that would increase their speed somewhat, there is still a limit to how much you can pump EVs on a pokemon to raise their stats. So having low base stats means that there IS a cap on how high stats can go.
With that in mind, pumping speed EVs into a Pyukumuku would be completely useless, since even with max speed EVs it probably would still be outsped by most of the game.

Well if _everyone'_s slow….:P
In all seriousness, it does kinda suck. I like using fast mons, that's part of the reason why I stock to the Pikachu-type.
Yeah I like to be able to one-shot everything when I'm training, and run away from anything I don't want to fight, and go heal as little as posssible. Slow mons means even if I can KO them easily, I'll be taking some damage almost every battle and that's a pain.

Slow is a relative term though. Pyukumuku is 5 speed base stat. Compare to Decidueye slow which is 70. That's a dramatic difference.
Also, there ARE fast ones: lycanroc, ribombee, salazzle stand out; comfey, bruxish, mimikyu and togedemaru all have higher or the same speed as your example of Pikachu.
And then for alola forms you have A. Raichu, A. Persian, A Ninetales all in the fast range. And a sizable amount of the slow pokemon also have bulk to compensate, moves to support it, or, like Tsareena, abilities that help mitigate it.
Mudsdale, Bewear… look at their bulk and stats, they're gorram monsters. You have things like Minior that start out with stupid defenses and THEN not only does its ability then boost its attacks and speed dramatically, the thing also learns shell smash.
Kommo-O is hardly too slow... but then it learns things like autotomize and dragon dance. While having bulk. That's stupid to me. With all these things in mind, the low speed is really only a big issue for a couple of new mons with unfortunately weak typings, like decidueye being helpless against dark types and Vikavolt being relatively frail to make up for its stupidly high Sp. Attack.
But yea, if we're using pikachu as a baseline, there are plenty of mons in that range.
Gameplay-wise, I think it's nice to have an environment in which you can't just go first every time and sweep the entire game. Gives value to money and item gathering as well as Pokemon Refresh, since being slower means you can actually have status inflicted.
Slower pokemon as a whole brings back up the strategy of diversifying your team so you don't just have an OP mon in front doing OP moves constantly and suddenly the game ends.
It's one of those things where people ask for difficulty increase... well, here's one.

That's….like what, Geodude relative to Pikachu tier?
! Goddamn, Pikipek is scary as hell.
Rowlet users beware.
The thing that almost got me was it having an oran berry and its Peck doing like 12 damage.
! So far my team:
Finch (Rowlet) - lvl 8
Reese (Pikipek) - lvl 3
Ayarya!
Ash is using a Litten in this?
I haven't consistently watched the show for a long time. Does he alternate between fire grass and water each time a new game generation comes out?
The show actually looks pretty fun. More people for him to wander with and stuff.
Golisopod japanese name is Gusokumusha! My heart…

Sometimes he gets 3 sometimes 2 sometimes 1, seems this gen he is getting Rowlet and Litten while Lana gets Popplio, the series just started this week so he doesn't have anything yet, but seems he will capture Rowlet next week.
His starter count:
Gen 1- 3
Gen 2- 3
Gen 3- 1
Gen 4- 2
Gen 5- 3
Gen 6- 1
Gen 7- 2(it seems)
So does Team Rocket get a Mimikyu? Because that's somewhat brilliant.
So does Team Rocket get a Mimikyu? Because that's somewhat brilliant.
Not sure, the opening seems to imply they might(it appears when they appear), Kojiro has gotten little cute pokemon before so that might be the case.
Next week Pikachu is battling Mimikyu.
Biking over to the midnight release tonight. Need to crochet like crazy so I don't lose too much time to Pokemon though.
SHAWL START

I had to look up the starters again lol. I think Mudkip and Oshawott would be the only water types I'd choose at the start.

In most of the series he has gotten more than 1 of the starters
! Current team:
! Finch (Rowlet)
Reese (Pikipek)
Fusco (Rattata)
Elias (Meowth)
Joey (Wingull)
Samaritan (Abra)
! No deaths so far, but I'm planning to sacrifice Wingull when the time comes.
A little disappointed that Youngster Joey in this game doesn't use Rattata (he uses Metapod).
Some close calls happened with Alolan Grimer and Magnemite. I didn't have much to use against them.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
! Also, you get Exp share real early this time.
The game looks great, and I actually have a permanent smile fixed on me as I play through.
Team Skull gags work and Lillie is annoying but cute, Hau is adorable.
So far Hau's not that into my Mom like he was in the demo
