Hooray for 500 pages of Joey JoJo Jr. Shabadoo
How many of you have watched Jojo?
I finished part 2 of Vanilla Ice last week, and it was a hell of an ending.

Oh wow… thread went that long. This thread... Oh what a beautiful Duwang!
Anyway, Vanilla Ice episode is awesome, can't wait for Dio's World.

I'm now picturing Dio as Beekman
I'm hoping for an awesome final battle with Dio.
I'm hoping for an awesome final battle with Dio.
What I'm curious to see is whether or not we'll see words written into the World as Dio said he would in part 6
What the Foo ? Mikitaka seems more legit now.
You people voted for Hubert Humphires and you killed JoJo:ninja:.
Lets move on!
I'm looking forward to more JoJo (anime) greatness…
And I am looking forwards for poses. Lots of poses.
Not much longer till Dio's World! There are two parts I look forward to the most:
! This will probably be super emotional…
! And most importantly, this scene. I hope they can get away with this, I've been dying to see this scene animated.
Here's to another decade of JoJo thread!
Starting this thread with some good ol´minor spoilers for the next chapter of Jojlion, courtesy of the Jojo Community

Foo Fighters?
The thread finally died, and what a long life it had.

I kind of wish DIO's Part 3 outfit was red rather than yellow. It suits him better, and it brings Char Aznable to mind when combined with his blonde hair.
So I haven't read the series since I marathoned Part Duwang a year ago, but now there are high quality scans? With color and good translation?? And now Viz is actually releasing the series in English??? And the anime is awesome????
Dare I say it, but now just might be the best time to be a JoJo fan.
Regarding Vento Aureo - I'm about two volumes in and loving it so far. JoJo really is unique in all aspects and I can tell that I'm back. I absolutely loved Part 4 and its finale, but I just burnt out after reading the entire thing in two days. I'm interested to see where this manga develops (I hear part 5 is where Araki's style grows more feminine) and all the crazy Stands I know I'm in for. I'm lovin' it.
Oh and the anime has been great as always, I can't wait to see the final fights. Hopefully David just continues to adapt the entire series as well.
Part 5 would probably be more well-liked in the west if it didn't have such an awful, awful translation, much worse than Duwang (which was at least pretty accurate even though the grammar was hilariously butchered). Behold! It's not even "funny bad" like Duwang, just cringeworthy.
Stone Ocean colored on Batoto has a pretty bad translation aswell.
I doubt anyone will do scanlations using the color version of the manga. That version didn't please the JoJo fandom as much as the OP one pleased OP fans. The digital coloring compromises a lot of the art details, so people prefer to see Araki's drawings in all its details than seeing them in color.
I like the colored chapter.
I don't know, the first parts looked pretty awful in those colors, kinda amateurish. But starting from Vento Aureo it became much better - Stone Ocean specifically looks amazing colored.
Yeah I agree. I started reading the colored version only with Stardust Crusaders. Though Stone Ocean is the only part with 100% of the colored chapters translated.
So I got to read the original chapters from time to time.
About bohemian rhapsody
! When Annasui's soul and body are separated, Weather Report can only see and hear his body, right ? But later, a random store owner and some cops can see both. Is it a mistake ?
I read Bites the Dust in color, and have been reading Vento in color as well. So far I've been loving it, but that's not to say I dislike the original art. I can't speak for the earlier parts, but the color looks well done and definitely feels true to the JoJo style. The insane use of color was one of my favorite parts about the new anime. Also, the translations seemed good. No basic errors, and all the plot/battle elements make sense and are easy to understand.
For me personally reading a lot of manga on a monitor screen via the internet can strain my eyes after a while. This sucks for series that aren't available physically, and are super long. Like JoJo.
Honestly though reading in color really eases the strain and makes long marathon sessions much more enjoyable. I'd recommend them for any newcomers to the series.
I am the kind of person who wants the first experience to always be free from any outside interference.
The first time I am reading a book I want to make sure I didn't got any review about it, the first time I eat a food I want it to be exactly as it is usually served without adding any extra element on my own, so I would NEVER be able to read a manga for the first time using a colored version when it was originally black and white. I would feel like my first experience was tainted and I would never have the chance to experience the first contact with the story as the writer intended to.
I don't mind reading the alternate version later, I even bought some colored volumes from other titles, but I would never be able to advise a firstcomer to go to the colored version :|
Yeah I can see that. It all comes down to preference.
I suppose the coloured version is easier to read be cause Araki draws a panel so complicated, (weird movements everywhere, even without bizarre superpowers.), and colour coding makes it immediatel easier to distingusih stuff, but I'd much rather have better scans or a print release.
! I knew it! I knew that Weather was a bro!
Yikes! Steel Ball Run colored is gross. That's weird coming after Stone Ocean.
Every chapter of Jojolion confuses me and makes me question whether there's any point to anything that happens in the manga. It's just… so weird and aimless and it's just confusing :/
Part 4 was equally aimless slice of life till Kira showed up. At least this part has an underlying mystery driving the plot.
So…is Steel Ball Run an alternate storyline ?
So…is Steel Ball Run an alternate storyline ?
Pretty much. There's a bit more to it but it goes into spoiler territory and I myself don't have time to go into specifics.
So…is Steel Ball Run an alternate storyline ?
Yes. Yes it is.
Its kinda like Lords of Shadows.
Oh yeah, must show you this:
Oh boy. This is getting complicated.
At least Steel Ball Run seems awesome so far, even as a standalone.

I had the same gripe with part 4 tbh. But the characters in part 4 were more likeable than the jojolion ones, and it was a little easier to understand what the hell was going on. Jojolion just throws stuff at you and none of it makes any sense.

It's…not really a standalone.
I mean you call it that but...
Did you read Stone Ocean yet ?

! Yeah the story ends with the universe starting a new cycle. Is that the origin of Steel Ball Run ?
! Yeah the story ends with the universe starting a new cycle. Is that the origin of Steel Ball Run ?
! It's partly a result of it, but whether it's the same universe that we see with Irene is up for debate, and as you go through SBR and Jojolion you'll see why people don't really think it's the same universe
Hm..I'm already getting headache with the fights. The story was pretty simple so far. I think I will try not to look too much into it and just enjoy the jojoness.
"Every man needs a map, a map in his heart…I am an executioner by the way." :getlost:
So…is Steel Ball Run an alternate storyline ?
Maybe yes, maybe not.
! We still don't know if SBR takes place in the "new universe" created by Pucci. If it does, then it is not an alternate storyline, it just takes place many many many years after Stone Ocean - since the new universe actually is the future of the old one and not an alternate dimension.

Don't front. You know that Gyro is awesome lol
But yeah just take it in stride. For me, SBR was okay up until ~a third of the way through the story, especially with more involvement from the antagonist, in which it really becomes super duper
The moment the main antagonist of SBR reveals himself is roughly the point where SBR becomes top-tier manga.
After the Uber Parfait Adventure, Jojolion has lost me. It's not terrible. . .but it's also so NOT engaging. I was honestly excited at the start of this part, what with it being the first genuinely mistery driven part of Jojo's entire run, but it just feels like it can't keep any momentum going, it's not exciting enough, and it's just. . .ugly. Characters are ugly, flashbacks are ugly, even the fucking abilities are ugly.
And sporadic. For a part that's supposedly well planned out, or should be by all acounts well planned out, things just keep popping up here and there. . .and disappear again. I was honestly excited during the maid-motorcycle stand fight, but has the maid even appeared again? I don't mean in the background, I mean, has she done anything again? Now it's this new girl, who's, so far, not very interesting. We were going somewhere with Corrupt Big Bro (and dad) and the stone people, and now. . .old lover? Spoiled brat from the past?
The thing with Araki is that his weirdness is strangely engaging, and surprisingly badass (most of the time), and his writing is not his main strength. Now we have a part where everything depends on his writing chops, and the weirdness is much more plain ugly than engaging.
I can't hate it, it's JoJo, and Araki's art has improved (well, the faces have improved, the movement shots are kind of sloppy), but so far. . .I'm not enjoying this all that much anymore.
I'm hoping the arc will coalesce better later on once more of the mystery's footing has established, and the monthly format is definitely not helping it in this case, but yeah it ain't doing it for me that wel so far.
But here I am anyway
God, this scene tore me apart!
;___; Hit me way worse than Avdol's actual death.
I don't understand how anyone can not like this part after last chapter's fight ended with dude getting run over by a bus dressed like a person! And epic stag beetle fights! And did you see that parfait?
This part probably works best as a complete picture but I'm finding the characters engaging enough and I don't feel the plot is as sporadic at this point, things are starting to connect more and more with the stone men and the fruits. This new character is there to tie in Josuke and Kira into that probably. It's not my favorite part but it's fun enough.
! Yeah the story ends with the universe starting a new cycle. Is that the origin of Steel Ball Run ?
! It's generally accepted as one of the multiple universes that spawned after the reset but not the main one with Pucci.
! But yeah you should just avoid discussing the universes thing too much or some upcoming events in SBR will be confusing

Pretty much every part past 3.

Pretty much every part past 3.
Part 5 went down with Diavolo.
Every part of JoJo is top tier, but some are more top tier than others
Except Part 2, which is God Enel Tier.
Holy shit.
That Dio at the end.
