These teases have been going on for quite a while last one I saw was the license plate one and before that the simpsons clip. Expect them being at E3.

Well Boon teased something about June 2nd… So maybe we will have a Mortal Monday
I can't get excited with new MK instalments. I mean, the last one was insane, but before what was the last good one? MK3?
I hope they manage to keep the last game level, but I will always approach new MK games with MUCH cautious (or "complete prejudice").
I hope this next one is as good as the last one because MK9 was freaking awesome.

Depending on who you ask MK2.
And confirmed.
Very impressive! Looks like there will be plenty of new gameplay elements in this one!
I can't wait to see more! ^_^
While I'm looking forward to the gameplay, the story the thing that really got me amped. MK9 had a very intrigting re-do of the orignal series and things ended on a pretty bittersweet if not bleak note. So now were entering new terrirtory and I'm really looking forward how they'll continue it.
They had me and then that… music... started, completely destroying the mood and atmosphere.
I fucking hate it when kids put their own hip-hop music on the trailers….wait, shit.
Wait, is it even Hip hop? I don't know. I'm old and loud noises scare me.
Looks amazing. Poor Subs… always getting wrecked

I would be surprised if anything shown (other than standard fighting moves) actually correlates to gameplay.

i believe that is rap

Well let's all hope so cause that would be a shame if they don't.
fucking Wiz Khalifa…
That aside, it's a cool cinematic trailer. I'm hype. Can't wait to see some actual gameplay footage.

I do hope they bring back weapon combat and interactable stage hazards/items. As crude and glitchy as MK4 was, it introduced some interesting concepts.

Loud noises!! recoils in rocking chair while waits the sweet embrace of death
Yeah, I can't agree with some of you. I'm totally cool with rap music in Mortal Kombat. Granted, I could make a Top 10 list of rappers I'd prefer over Wiz Khalifa, but Mortal Kombat 2011 didn't have any memorable music what-so-ever. Really frustrating, considering how many fighting games have amazing soundtracks.

That trailer was complete nonsense, Sub Zero totally had that fight!
Canonically, Kuai Liang has never beaten Scorpion, except for MK2011's Story Mode, in which he defeat Scorpion, only to be captured. In the original timeline, Scorpion defeated Sub-Zero countless times. However, Scorpion refused to kill him because unlike Kuai's older brother, Bi-Han, Kuai always had mercy and almost never killed his opponent after a battle, as he believed in mercy. Thus, Scorpion would defeat him and show him the same mercy he showed everyone.
Subby-wubby is my second favorite MK character, and he's got quite the track record for defeating enemies like Sektor. But Scorpion? Nah.

Mortal Kombat games have always gone for the ambient, old martial arts-y aesthetic over something distinct like any of Street Fighter's themes. Yeah, they aren't as potent, but I think they're memorable in their own right (I'd argue that the Courtyard remake is one of my favorite tracks from the 2011 game).
Definitely looking forward to some actual gameplay as well, what I'm really wondering is if the game is going to keep the BLOCK button or if NetherRealm is going to follow the Injustice suit and have the traditional hold-back-to-block mechanic of every other 2D fighter.

Most of it was remixes of MK1, 2, & 3 themes but with some weird as hell exclusions i.e. The Bridge.

True, but as a long time fan, the music has never been my favorite thing. Which is why I wouldn't mind a revamp.

I noticed the remixes, but none of them stuck with me. Only theme that stayed in my head was the Online theme, because it would loop forever while waiting to find a match.
I am not a fan of MK, but I can't describe how excited I am after seeing the E3 trailer showing the new "lady bug" character. I am a freak for insect related character and since Q-Bee (back in the 90's!) I'ven been waiting for another one. All I can tell is that I am already madly in love.
GAMEPLAY TRAILER!
Very damn impressive so far. I'm really liking the female bug character since she reminds me of Q-bee from the Darkstalkers series. :)
I don't know if the weird Aztec character is new or not, cause he might be Hotaro, who has quite the fanbase behind him (as far as post-MK3 characters go anyway).
The other two are absolutely new, and I don't have complaints about any of them. Dying to see how they fit into the Mortal Kombat universe. I'm glad they're expanding their mythology to new realms and/or new species.
Ok while that huge guy with the small person on its back is somewhat a design that isn't super unique and exists in various forms I guess, all I could think of was "hey dota's alchemist is in MKX"
is the new male character Nunu?
My internet's been playing up so I can't get that trailer to work.
Have we been treated to any next gen Quan Chi Skull Fireballs yet?
Yeah, I thought of Nunu as well.

So far, only five characters.
Sub-Zero
Scorpion
New Character (Woman that manipulates bugs)
New Character (Small child/person(?) riding on the back of an ogre)
New Character? (Aztec looking warrior)
Until he gets a name, I'm calling the child riding a giant MasterBlaster.
Okay, characters have been given names!
-D'Vorah is the bug lady. Not much story on her yet.
-Ferra is the little girl on the monster's back. The monster is named Torr. She commands him. Not much story on her yet.
-Kotal Kahn is the Aztec guy. He seems to be related to Shao Kahn somehow.
And finally, we have a sixth character!
[hide]Meet Cassie Cage! Daughter of Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade. MKX will take place 25 years in the future.
[/hide]
WHAAAAAAAAA!!? O_O
25 years in the future!? Now that I didn't expect at all!
Btw, Cassie looks pretty cool! :)
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
So I'm guessing the Sub-Zero that Scorpion is fighting in both trailers must be the son of the second or first Sub-Zero or something.
It could be.
Something is bothering me though. Ed Boon said that the story 'GOES' 25 years into the future. Nothing about 'takes place 25 years later'. Which makes me wonder if we're dealing with time travel here.

Stream. Includes Fatality footage of Sub-Zero and D'Vorah. Sadly, I haven't seen any footage of Katal Kohn or Cassie.
hoo-leeey shiiit!
u guys think that it may has a port to PS3? Really won't be able to buy a PS4 in a while ;_;
lovin' it all. the motion, the interactions with the elements of the stage, the speed and their designs.
can't really explain but the Farra+Torr combo reminded me of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for some unknown reason.
It will. PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
So I'm guessing the Sub-Zero that Scorpion is fighting in both trailers must be the son of the second or first Sub-Zero or something.
Provided either of them sired a child before hand or it could just be another Lin Kuei using the Sub-zero name.
Gameplay matches:
Kotal Kahn seems like a bit of a ripoff of Ogre from Tekken.
I'm OK with this.
Those are some brutal fatalities without even being over the top.
Cassie's face does't look finished, but that aside I am happy with her. Between Cassie and D'Vorah, finally MK got women who don't look like they where breastfed with steroids.
Talking about D'Vorah, just saw this HQ screenshot where she appears without her hood. For some reason I wasn't expecting her to be bald, but seeing it just made me like her design even more!

Hey at the very least if any of the fatalities used on her involve her skull getting split in half you won't have to read snarky comments on Youtube wondering how one goes about splitting a ponytail in half.
New Interview with Boon: http://www.polygon.com/a/e3-2014/mortal-kombat-x
Basically, the game is going to have at least the same amount of characters that were in MK9 (which had 28 so expect ~30), and Boon stated that they've decided to tone down on revealing clothing for female characters.
And boy oh boy are people mad about the latter.

Gee you'd think these people started playing Mortal Kombat to watch women in revealing outfits get brutally beaten in 1 on 1 matches to the death….
At any rate that won't kill their interests in Ryona videos once the game comes out.
Why would people be mad? In Mk9, they all had manly faces anyway. 'specially Kitana.
D'Vorah is awesome!! Can't wait to see the rest of the roster!
D'Vorah looks like she should be part of an alien race in Mass Effect–which is to say, she looks very, very cool. And I like the variations concept for the characters as well! I wonder if they'll have to be unlocked (probably).
As for the toned-down sex appeal, well....that's only a big deal if you have the maturity of a teenager, lol.

Ugh… You won't believe the amount of people saying shit like, "It's rated M for a reason!" Bitch, it's Rated M so I can rip your stupid ass spine without doing so in reality.

That won't stop them. The mind questions, but the crotch beckons.

I don't think they'll have to be unlocked because they're going to be a major part in tournaments. Unless the game is provided with a 'unlock all variations' code, having characters be locked toward a certain degree is going to piss off tournament goers (which Boon is trying not to do).
Although, could you imagine making a tier list of ~30 characters with three variations. Jesus…
Ed Boon specifically said that the styles are not unlockable. When you get a character, you get all 3.
