@Warp:
You're right actually. Yes, my problem is in characters.
Characters who are made to be cared about and source of tear jerker moments, but have nothing else to them.
Therefore all that sorrow falls flat.
Such as countless characters since the start of the series, going back all the way to Rika.
I mean this is a series who made one of it's earliest in-arc conflicts revolve around a pet food store burning down and making a dog cry lol.
Barely saw the island, instead everything went into madly dragged fights with enemies whose only power was "not being defeated after finisher move".
Other than that? FI was the best of three.
lolll, jesus christ. You have NO idea what you're doing. This is the sloppiest attempt at argument I've ever heard.
I don't give a shit about any of those other criticisms of Fishman Island, hell I agree with half of them.
But that's not what we're arguing. You whined about the plots being about crying characters, I showed that they weren't and that the crying characters were incidental side plots within the main plots at MOST.
You got anything against that? Because suddenly going into a poor man's version of my own complaints about poor world building in FI is completely off topic.
And it was sidelined for weeks to make room for running from gas, children (everyone knew they'll be more or less fine anyway, and it didn't even bring any development for Chopper, which was perfect opportunity. So they were just there. Running), and for marines being incompetent morons. In the end everything was rushed, Vergo defeated quicky and effortlessly, children saved by Law ofscreen (both instances made him look bad) everyone packed and left. Children were unnecessary, they only were there for shock value and to make Caesar look despicable. And then he was turned into comic relief, so who cares anymore.
Same exact thing here. Though at least you've decided to mention the topic of the argument in like two sentences shoved in the way back.
The children were no more or less relevant than any other such tertiary characters, again going back to ChouChou, Boodle, Rika etc.
Except that they did have a purpose, as the abducted children sub-plot is where we were introduced to Momonosuke. And the possibility of fake giantism making a comeback in the plot is pretty damn high.
Awesome. If only it wasn't constantly interrupted back and forth between like 40 different groups of people, half of which are barely relevant,
It's not even remotely tough to follow. You're basically just making your argument based around "IM DUMB AND CANT FOLLOW THE DOTTED LINES" with this lol.
All of which are relevant, unless you mean the gladiator contestants. In which case you're naive as shit. Lessee. Usopp befriended another giant. Hack is already shown to be a revolutionary. Prodence and the Kanokuni people have been revealed to be parties to Doflamingo's manipulations. Tank Lepanto became the main conduit that made the king's storyline activate. Bellamy is directly relevant to the central plot of the arc. Cavendish will obviously play more of a role down the line. Everyone else was just silly cannon fodder for some fights.
Gosh never had those before in One Piece. Remember the crystalline important of every single person fighting in the Skypiea survival game? Or like 80% of henchmen ever?
characters didn't dissapear for months
lolllll, what is this amateur hour?
"months" he says lol.
Whining about the weekly schedule is the biggest non-argument you can possibly make.
and and long awaited resolutions weren't offscreened because there is no time anymore,
What is this even referring to.
And characters who are presented as victims: Rebecca, who is very dumb,
Dumb how.
and dwarves who are even dumber
I'm glad the takeaway you've made after 75 or so volumes of One Piece is that dumb and naive characters suck.
and that is their species trait, and it hinders them daily.
You're complaint about these characters is they are hindered?
I'm sorry but where's the actual reason you can't care about them?
But in general it's clear as day that even though you're been at this since at least 2012, you've somehow never learned how to read this series weekly.
Further I bet that you hated all the modern arcs you say through weekly, but have since forgotten this.
