I've often wondered about that myself; seems like being supported by people who only want you there so the world can end in fire (with you going to Hell in the process) would be somewhat off-putting

I'd rather they just do an original story. We all know the actual story, they aren't going to capture it in any detail. At least with a new imaginary tale they can have some fun with it, and do things with characters that would otherwise jobber. (Like moria was super kickass in his cinemas.)

Mr 2, Mr. 3, Arlong, Hachi, Krieg, Wapol, most of CP9, Magellan, Ivanokov, Jozu, Vista, Moria…. and they're obviously flat out missing Vivi, Carue, and a Chopper that doesn't suck.
I expect Ceasr, Monet, and Tashigi to all show up. Playable? Who knows. Hody I guess?

They better make up a totally new moveset for the SHs, I'm talking all new moves. I don't care if they have to make up non-canon bullshit themselves, just have them use different attacks. Their movesets have been basically the same since the first game, time to switch it up guys.
That's not the only concern I have about this game either. I want to be excited for this but I feel that they'll just start same-ing everything and barely put in any effort. I'll wait for the trailer I guess, that should clearly show whether this sequel will be worth it or not.

Pre-skip Chopper and both Namis are actually 2 of the best characters in the game for quickly killing named enemies. While he sucks overall I think it's Chopper's S>T or T>S I forget which because it's been a while that is a grapple move that just owns any named enemy, and Nami can juggle infinitely with Thunderbolt Tempo in Style mode. The only characters that are unplayable to me in PW2 are Perona and post-skip Chopper.
What I'm hoping they do for the Strawhats throughout the series is change a move here and there to declone the pre and post skip versions, but keep things mostly the same to they don't have to fill them up with filler moves.
And for the story what I think they should just do is have an original story like PW2 but then have an afterthought canon story like the Another Log in PW1 just so it's there.

Wasn't everyone but Kizaru weak compared to Enel? Enel was a monster in the game.

_I don't know at what diffuculty you played, but in Ultra Hard, I had some problem with him to get S . His moves are weak. And his Specials were just lame.
I played Pirate Warriors 2, for atleast 150 hours. And the best Characters are: Law, Enel, Kuzan and Kuma and a little Kizaru. I got my S in Hard Mode with them and finished all the Chapters and Support Chapters in Ultra Hard with just Law and Enel.

I cannot wait to play this game. I still play the first two games sometimes, though the first one to a lesser extent.
Based on the official website, I feel like we are going to have a more detailed telling on the canon story. Like the first game, but with more added in, and with a more pure Musou style.
Though, I'd love it if they had the PW1 style boss battles again.
I imagine Skypiea, Thriller Bark and Punk Hazard will be included, since they were in the last game. And obviously Dressrosa will be in, at least to some extent.
The scan to me hints that Doflamingo, Fujitora, Shanks and "he" will be playable in some form.
I would like them to add in some characters from the past as playable too, especially Moriah, Kid and Magellan.
I guess I'm weird by the way, since my best characters in PW2 are Enel, Akainu, Perona and Post Time Skip Chopper.
I'd also like to see Loguetown, Jaya, a new Water 7 stage and Fishman Island at least in as stages.

I don't mind the maps, but I can agree. Making the maps based on their look in the manga and then placing bases in places would be better than basing the maps around bases.

Personally I'd be fine with a number of the Dressrosa arc guys being added. Fujitora, DC, Sabo, Burgess, Doffy, and maybe some of his crew and/or more colosseum fighters. Anything else would be a pleasant and welcome surprise to me.</whoever>
It was quite amusing in Pirate Warriors 2 where the CP9 just appeared out of nowhere in nearly every stage.
