Well I did put some thought into my decision. First up, Monet's heart was stabbed with an icicle; since she is made of Snow, it might not have killed her.
Second, Oda does not have a really good track record when it comes to killing off characters.

monet could also offer a distinctly different body type than the other girls on the crew, even if zoro effectively takes her place, much in the same way chopper and franky offer a diverse style of body (chopper counts as at least three people in this regard), because she can be a bird.
