Tashigi VS. Crocodile

Tashigi walked in with her sword at her side, shivering nervously… She had every right to be, when Crocodile calmly walked into the arena.

"I don't... know if I can beat you... But I will try my hardest! It is my job as a Marine to apprehend criminals, especially escapees!"

Crocodile laughed, and dissolved into sand. A second later, he appeared behind Tashigi, and wrapped her in his arms, putting his hand to her forehead and hook to her neck. "What can YOU do? I'd like to see you try."

Pepsi, from the sidelines, blew a whistle. "Crocodile, the match has not started yet. That is a penalty against you. Tashigi gets a free hit."

Crocodile glared at the teenage girl, and slowly approached. "Desert... Spa-"

"Oh no you don't!" Tashigi poured water on her sword, and slashed Crocodile's back, completely interrupting his attack and sending blood flying.

"!!" Crocodile turned around, terrified. "How'd you know...?!"

"That was my free hit. Let's get started, fiend." Tashigi ignored him, pulling her glasses onto her head, and lunged at the former Shichibukai.

But IÂ´m gonna vote for Crocodile hands down. HeÂ´s my favorite OP character, shichibukai, criminal masters mind, sadistic bastard and so far LuffyÂ´s toughest adversary in a fight.

IÂ´m somewhat in the same boat here Vivi. Lucci somehow has the same for me attracting villainous features as Crocodile: 1. Pimpage and Class, 2. Calm sadistic bastard, 3. Are very difficult to surpass by Luffy.

I actually love them both but I think that in a popularity contest between them both I would still vote for Crocodile. His design is just to awesome for my taste plus heÂ´s shichibukai and he seems to a bit more cold hearted then Lucci just by an inch since he doesnÂ´t have his own sidekick pigeon. The Bananawani were just tools for him after all as all his agents.

Same here Ivotas. And come to think of it, Crocodile hating working for the World Government and being a Shichibukai was just a cover to hide his evil doings with Baroque Works and his attempt to getting his hands on Pluton, which failed miserably. His Utopia plan was just perfect… the meticulousness in which he came up with it was just brilliant. Right from the start, Crocodile was just one great evil criminal character... which compared to Lucci, wasn't (meaning that he wasn't an evil character from the start... I didn't suspect that anyway...) I know Lucci's just too cool a character too... and there's still more to come, but since CP9 is related to the WG, well, I prefer Croc ;D
Ah well... it's even more obvious now that I'm rooting for Croc

Dissapointed in the fact Luffy lost, but here's the Tashigi/Crocodile anaylisis.

Tashigi: Has appeared in quite a few chapters and episodes in various arcs. Swordswoman, bears uncanny resembalance to Zoro's childhood rival Kuina, Marine Sergent Major, clumsy, is on a quest to retrive the 12 Saijou-Oo-Wazamono, 21 Oo-Wazamono, and 50 Ryou-Wazamono, works with Smoker.

Crocodile: Has appeared as a voice in Little Garden and the main villain in Alabasta. Was one of the Shichibukai before Luffy defeated him and lost his position after the Marines and Government discovered his take over of Alabasta, ate the Suna Suna no Mi a Logia fruit, smokes cigars, has a hook for a hand, weakness is water and blood, organized a criminal organazation known as Baroque Works, had some of the strongest people in the world in his organiazation including Nico Robin, a blade man, a thorn woman, an Okama transformer, and more.

I voted for Crocodile, I never really liked Tashigi since she's trying to take Zoro's swords. "Oh Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream. Make her the cutest, that I've ever seen" Sorry I couldn't resist.

ItÂ´s not that I consider Ace super cool because I voted for him, heÂ´s just LuffyÂ´s brother and in my personal real life attitude I always show respect to the family of the people I love. Plus Buggy just doesnÂ´t do it for me. Everybody that is so ignorant because of greed to hate a person who actually saved his life deserves to get eliminated in the first round. Next years IÂ´ll make sure to contribute for an early elimination of his again.

Crocodile is definitely awesome, and one of my favorite badguys.

On the other hand, I really like Tashigi's character, just strong, but struggling to keep up in a world of inhumanly strong people, and just very human too. Frustrated when she doesn't understand how people can get away with injustice, or if her strength isn't enough to make a difference. Etc etc.

So yeah, definitely voting Tashigi. I the underdog.

Well feel free to do it. ItÂ´s not like I would be pissed anyway. I just give my props by voting him when he facing an opponent I donÂ´t care for (like BUGGY). If he would be facing Crocodile or Lucci that would be a different story.

You really seem to have some trouble with different tastes and opinions. If people consider a character as interesting then it is their free choice to do so. And I already elaborated in my first post in this thread why I Crocodile is my favorite One Piece character. ItÂ´s not because of his power, itÂ´s because of his evil character. For my interpretation of a villain he has much more ideal characteristic attributes then Buggy will ever have. Plus the how I call it "mental raping" he gave Vivi before he let her fall is among the most sadistic things a villain ever did in One Piece. :evil:

Again you seem to have problems with different opinions. Spandam is also a secondary character. And he has a very cool personality. ThatÂ´s why he won his first match. Or do you seriously think people will vote for him because he is super powerful with his hight level 9 Doriki? :laugh:

ok…. first off i never said anything about crocodile. and i know people have different opinions. in fact it seems like your having trouble accepting my opinion. what im essentially saying is ace is lame buggys cool. im just saying it differently because thats the way i do things. if you have a problem with the way i say things then ignore my posts im not gonna go change because you don't like it.

and i consider spandam to be a main character because he is a member of cp9. and i never said anything about spandam being powerful or anyting about spandams personality. the only time i metnioned him was stating the match the rest was about johnny.

This is popularity contest and therefore it makes less sense to question peopleÂ´s motifs for who they vote. If you prefer your character then itÂ´s fine. But getting all pissed because he lost is silly. This is a fun forum and I donÂ´t think peoleÂ´s votes in a popularity contest for fictive characters are something to get that worked up about.

And as far as Spandam is concerned. HeÂ´s still secondary after Lucci. The stars of this entire CP9 arc are Franky, Paulie, Lucci and Kaku. Though he is important for the story he still is a secondary character.
And I know that you didnÂ´t state that he is powerful all I said is that you should stop making influence on peopleÂ´s votes. If they like Johnny more then theyÂ´ll vote for him. If they prefer Spandam then he gets the vote. Why are you so concerned about what people will vote anyways? DonÂ´t you get that this is just for fun?

While I have no particular love for the Croc, I have to admit that Tashigi is probably my least favorite character. She's just an older Kuina while lacking any of the traits that actually made Kuina cool. So Croc it is!

Well while you are right on one side you have to look at it from a different angle (I sure molest you a lot with this term lately donÂ´t I?)

See it as if you make a poster for a movie. Mostly you get the starts of the movie on it and not everybody that is important. And when you look at the total picture, with looking back when just getting a new shipwright was important. Kaku was with Lucci and Paulie the faces of the arc. Later on it he was outted as one of the villains but still there was no Spandam in sight so that just supported his star status as it did for Lucci. And right now with being second strongest after Lucci he still didnÂ´t lose his status becaus from the fighting perspective he will be among the top six (if it turns out to be like I think with Luffy vs. Lucci, Zoro vs. Kaku and Sanji vs. Jabura).

Just like when you see Obi-Wan, Darth Maul, Qui-Gon and Padme as stars for Episode I for instance. DoesnÂ´t mean that guys like Sidious or Anakin are lesser important to the story. It is actually the other way around, but the stars that draw attention are the other guys.

And since the beginning of this arc up till now Franky, Paulie, Lucci and Kaku are definitely the stars of the arc. Though otherÂ´s like Iceburg, Spandam and Tom have a bigger significance to the story itself.

@ lalala: IÂ´m not getting mad at you, I just gave some comments on what I though should be pointed out. There was no hostile intention in it. ItÂ´s just appeared that you took it to seriously. ThatÂ´s all. Everyone of us tried a little bit persuasion, just look at the "propaganda" in the Luffy vs. Franky match. :laugh: It was really just that it appeared that you took it to seriously. A villain for me has to be impressive. Arlong was impressive.. when I saw him I was thinking "man this is a like a mafia don". Same with Crocodile, although he had a different style, he was equally cruel. (actually Arlong was cooler for me than Croc, but I have a weakness for powerful logia's)

Buggy on the other hand.. dunno, he was crazy and silly.. not very convincing as a villain for me. I mean.. a pirate who looks like a clown.. while no doubt original to some people, I was "meh" about him from the start.

Crocodile gets my vote. Tashigi just is a "meh" character to me; I think she plays off the clumsy role too often to be appealing.

Now on the other hand, when she is brought back into the story, presumably with more resolve and determination to better herself, I will probably have more respect for her. I have to admit that the last scene with her in Alabasta where she is talking with Smoker and Hina on the ship was pretty awesome.

The Croc has cruelty and vainity just oozing out… and it gives him a lot of character. Sometimes the biggest bastards can have the most appeal in stories like this. And like Ivotas said, he has CLASS while doing it.

i don't like tashigi. i don't like crocodile that much either, but it's the difference how i do not like them that settles this for me.
tashigi is annoying and clumsy (a fact i can not simply seem to be getting over with) but crocodile is a bastard. and bastardness > clumsiness and annoy ..ing…ness(?).
