    • RE: The PlayStation Thread

Well that's because Rose is the usually the first introduction to the world of dominatrixes (dominatrices?) for preteens. ๐Ÿ˜›

But seriously. The game is a mixed bag. The plot and soundtrack are AWESOME, and the graphics are pretty spot-on especially for the first Playstation. As for the battle system, it can be a real pain in the butt, especially with the damned Additions. It's JUST okay. It's not something I NEED to replay over and over again, but it's a nice thing for a rainy day if I'm bored.

Oh, and Rob, you CAN get Kongol's Dragoon spirit right after you get him if you know where to look. So he CAN actually get more broken. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • RE: Picking a major.

As others have said, you always want to pick something you're going to enjoy. In most cases, people would much rather be happy and living from paycheque to paycheque than to be making lots of money and hitting rock bottom at the age of forty.

I've heard countless stories of people who - having no real ambition other than 'go to college and get a degree' - go into business and end up miserable five, ten years later.

When I was in uni, I constantly switched majors in my first year. First I was English, and then Anthropologyโ€ฆ Poli.Sci... Sociology... Psychology... before finally settling on a double in English and Sociology. Never once did I consider the financial ramifications, or lack thereof, that my choice may make me. I wanted to be happy.

If you want to stick with computer science, it's a relatively lucrative field in that nearly any business these days wants an IT guy on call. Just make sure it's what you want to do with your life, and good luck!

I do my best, yo, I do my best. And if you ever need any advice, please let me know. I was a section mod myself at one point. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • RE: New Additions

I do want to get involved more like in the old days, just as a regular member (but still, don't get on my lawn. ;-D). I don't have TIME anymore, what with working a fifty-hours-a-week job, to be a global mod, and I finally realized it now after discussing with the other forum leaders. (Real life: It's a bitch and a half.)

I can still give out advice on things like the rules and such, I just won't be the one punishing anyone for breaking 'em. XD

Yep, my modship had a good run (this was a resignation on my part, to clarify). I'll be sitting on my porch with a bottle of gin and a shotgun. AND IF YOU DAMN KIDS COME ON MY LAWN, SO HELP MEโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Congrats to the newbies. Make me proud!

    • RE: China Bans All Foreign Languages

In lieu of a comment on how stupid this is, I will instead quote a favourite comedian of mine (Kathleen Madigan) regarding the Chinese language.

"I'm not a fan of the Chinese language either; might just be me, but it sounds like they're always extremely stressed out and yelling at each other. You ask a simple question, and that answer came back fifty times louder and meaner!"

    • RE: Any tips on how to be less shy?

Okay, the first thing to overcoming shyness is to be self-confident. Some of us have more of a problem with that than others, myself included.

Some tips that a professional confidence teacher and friend have taught me:

-Whenever you walk into a room, don't immediately rush in and take your seat/meet your friends/etc. Instead, stand at the entrance, and slowly gaze around a bit. Scan the room some. As you do, people will notice you, and you'll suddenly own that room and everyone in it.
-When you meet someone for the first time, chances are fair you're gonna shake their hand and introduce yourself: "Hi, my name is John." When you do this, make the eye contact, smile, and say that. But think to yourself, "I'm someone you need to know." It sounds cocky, sure, but that psychologically pumps you up and makes you seem way more confident, and thus, way more personable.
-When you talk to someone, always keep that eye contact. If you're averting your eyes, you're gonna immediately be perceived as the shy person you're trying to avoid being!

      Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

Throwing my hat in for Vivi, officially.

I'll do my best to help out for real this year; no random disappearances this time. Just let me know what needs to go on; you guys're in charge. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • RE: Forced Listening Thread

Not bad, not bad at all! Death metal is one of the few types of metal I do like, and I REALLY love the percussion in this.

His voice, though, seems to be lacking a bit of the 'oomph' I'm accustomed to, but then again, I spent my teenage years listening to Angela Gossow non-stop so I'm a bit biased towards that. ๐Ÿ˜‰

To keep up this 'red oni blue oni' thing we have going, here's another tune on my end:

And to finish up on this far-too-long post, I definitely have a radio show this weekend at a god-awful time, haha. My signature reveals all. ๐Ÿ˜„

My bad, I wanted to share the tune and forgot.

As for that, I'm always a fan of female fronted indie rock, soโ€ฆ now you've got me downloading some Emma Pollock, haha. Love the raspiness of her voice.
