I'm gonna tackle the big list of shadowy figures. Right to left, top to bottom.
Pekoms and Tamago. Easy, everyone knew this.
Unknown, but rather obviously not Hawkins, by this point. The chin shape is wrong, the sword is misplaced and the clothing is wrong. We can't even see the background, or what's held in the hand. I expect this one to be a Yonko subordinate we'll meet relatively soon.
Kid.
Shilliew. The chin shape is right, the lips are right, the nose is right, the cigar is right and his bulk is right. We never saw his hair, so that's not an indicator.
Rob Lucci. Hair is right, hat is right, drink is right, posture is right, and it even looks like the build is right.
Next three are unknown. Due to the details given, it seems likely that they are new characters. Direct your attention at their background though. Very 'dark' feel to it. Barebones, like they are in a warehouse.
Unknown. Appears to be at sea, though. The lantern hanging above him is the sort you'd see in a ship, and the screen for his projector was hastily set up.
Unknown. Not much we can draw from him, except that he's probably on land due to the stone architecture. Without even being able to see his face, the indication might be that he's someone we'll see very soon, to drive up speculation.
These two are unknown. Again, they appear to be on land, and as a wild guess, based on their fashion sense, I'd say they would be members of DoFlamingo's group. Barring that, the background is vaguely like Kid's with a sort of industrial feel to it.
Rob Lucci, again. I know, but look at him. Then look at the background. It's the same place and the same guy. You can even see the curly hair on his shoulder. One problem though, the screens appear to be different.
I'd love for this last one to be Gekko Moria. But the hair is all wrong. Ignore the problems with his sheer bulk and general shape. He could have had surgery performed on him to acquire a new, stronger body. The hair was nearly a trademark, and presumably most of his head would stick around as well.

Oh, and I'm willing to bet that in the New World, in addition to the WG bounties, there are something like "Yonkou" bounties, which represent how much one of the Emperors want to kill you. We'll be introduced to the concept before too long, but it would help explain why Hawkins' bounty barely raised. He's been pissing off Yonkou instead of the WG.

the yonkou are not allied so if they had yonkou bountys/rewards for people they want dead then it would be seperate.

• For the first time, I'm starting to get a feel for what kind of character Killer is. He didn't leave much impression on me at all before this. He might even wind up being the straight man of alliance B. Other than that, I seem to recall Kid and Apoo getting into a fight during their introductions. Urouge-san was mixing it up with Killer before they were stopped by Drake, and later Urouge-san, Drake, Hawkins, and Apoo all fought Kizaru together. So I get the feeling that Urouge-san and Drake aren't far around the corner.

This is pretty baseless, but I think Urouge and Capone are currently working for Blackbeard. Those two also came off as two of the weaker Supernovae to me, so it really wouldn't surprise me if they've gone under a Yonkou's wing. Same with Crocodile and Daz Bones. So we'll see them the next time we see Blackbeard…

Holy crap. Totally the best chapter of the arc so far. A bit disapointed by Killer's bounty only being 200 Million.

I wonder, this alliance by Kidd, Apoo, Hawkins…..i wonder what is going on. Law is getting an alliance, so is Kidd. Perhaps they're all gonna go take out 1 of the Emperors....hence why they need so many strong guys, but that begs the question why they would do so in the first place..

1. Despite crappy translation, it say "Volume 3" and not Final Volume.
2. Caribou has been beaten up…how many times? Yet he keeps coming back?
3. It's "Caribou's 'Kehihihi in the New World'"; Since Fishman Island isn't part of the New World, we can safely assume Caribou will end up in the New World eventually.
4. Coribou is safe and is supposedly "waiting at the dock".
5. There's still Wadatsumi :wub: - and dammit Oda, why didn't you give him a cover arc?

We don't know for sure - it's one of the more unclear ones since it's a backshot. It's possible it's Lucci, and it's also possible it's not. Either way - we don't know who it is until we are shown who he is.

Okay upon 2nd review, I was too busy ejaculating Yesterday to really produce anything constructive to the discussion, but I wanna' begin to examine the relationship between Kidd and Killer. In the Mangapanda scan, Kidd stated that he didn't believe that Killer'd ever be a broker, then it was Killer who not only invited Apoo into the hideout, but also pacified all 3 Captains when shxt started to kick off. Is Killer the calm and calculating reason why the explosive Kidd hasn't been taken out of the show thus far?

Also, Apoo's bounty's rocketed above Hawkins, is this because Hawkins has been playing it cool in the NW? Can you even play it cool in the NW, especially when you enter with a bounty of 249 mill.?

Because out of the 11 supernova, only Kid and Luffy had higher bounties than Hawkins during Sabaody. And out of the 9 that aren't Luffy or Zoro, 4 names are routinely more notable than the others. I thought the same, but i like this more than naming only the higher bounties because they're the higher. I'm also happy that the bounties order changed, so Urouge can have an huge one _ , i feared the order would still be the same because of all the people saying things like "Apoo isn't as strong as Hawkins, Kid, Drake.. because his bounty is lower" and "Urouge is the weaker supernova because he's got the lower bounty of them all" ( maybe he is and i'll have to shut up, but you can't say his bounty is a proof ). Oda did well keeping the sense of the bounties

Btw, Killer was the supernova i liked the less, but i love him now that Oda's showed he is the brain of Kid's crew. It must be because he did next to nothing pre-TS, i'm sure all the SN will be quite developed from now on ( they were going to originally appear in the NW, after all. )

PS: If it isn't a bother, would someone be able to change Apoo's, Hawkins and Kid's faces from page 5 into signature size? If not, show me what programs do you use to separate panels apart. Thanks ^^

This chapter was amazing.

I find it funny that everyone just assumes that this will be an easy fight. Of course in the end, the good guys will win, but is everyone forgetting that Vergo and CC have Law and Smoker's hearts, respectively? Those two may very well end up being taken out even before they get the chance to do something, which will leave the Straw Hats vs everyone else.

I think the most noticable thing about this chapter is the fact that alliances have to be made by whoever rly wanna reach something in the NW.
Its not like you may or may not get some people follow you because they admire/lost to you..its THE diplomatic way how to handle the NW.
Without that aspect you seem to be limited, especially when you want to strike against a yonkou.
Kidd, Apoo and Hawkings sure were able to grow and survive in the NW, but to finally entering the top league it seems building alliances is the only efficient way.

So having a huge amount of people fighting for you, like WB had, definitely seems to be favouring Luffy a lopt, like it was already mentioned during the war, that he has that ability to bound people to him.

It is odd since Killer's epithet is "Massacre Soldier" yet he's smart strategist. Kid is like Luffy in the way that he doesn't listen to reason but for him it's because he loves killing and fighting but Luffy just loves fun and adventure.

Yeah but I don't think Brownbeard mentioned Apoo's name in the worst generation, while he did mention Hawkins. Which is why it seems odd, but I really like Apoo he's probably my #4 favorite SN after Kid, Killer, Law. Still it is odd since Apoo's name at least according to Brownbeard wasn't part of that group that had made a name for themselves.

Look at Luffy and Kidd pre-time skip. Look at all the insane stuff luffy did.
LUFFY-Beat the strongest man in east blue, take out warlord, recruit the demon child with knowledge almost no one else in THE WORLD has, stormed Enies lobby, defeated Cp9.
KIDD- Killed a lot of people, some of whom might have been prominent. (I assume, that's not stated anywhere)

Kids bounty was higher for accomplishing much less. Now you may be thinking "yeah but bounties are about threat" and that's true, which is why kids is higher. he's much more dangerous because he could just snap and start killing innocent civillians at a moments notice. However if you are a WG employee who do you think gets talked about more at the water cooler? Who do you think pirates want to meet? Who do you think makesthe newspaper headlines more? The guy who beat a warlord, stormed enies lobby and fought in the whitebeard war or a guy who is dangerous but nothing really juicy to talk about, gossip if you will.

We heard that Kid, Law, Drake and Hawkins have been "causing a sir" or something like that and that may be because they have been going around taking over territory, defeating warlords, or attacking the Government. Meanwhile Apoo may have been doing more "run of the mill" pirate things like a little pillaging there and a battle here but then when he comes up against Marine forces or enemy Pirate crews with notable fighters, he utterly wrecks there shit. I can see a person gaining bounty steadily from that but the general populace not having much to say about them because it's "normal" or "uninteresting" behavior.

On top of that I never expected them all to stay in the same ranking in terms of bounty. When Oda introduced the supernovas it was one of the greatest things to happen to the manga. He threw a bunch of people like luffy in the pot and stirred it. Then waited two years. In that time people were bound to grow or weaken in strength, crews were bound to change, I won't be suprised if one or two supernova's are dead. When you introduced 9 new characters like that and give them 2 years I expect developments like this to happen otherwise it's boring storytelling. I'd be reminded of the rookie 9 in Naruto who started off like the supernova but after the 2 years time skip didn't change at all. And it was flabbergastingly bad storytelling. That's why I don't find it Odd Apoo's bounty surpassed Hawkins.

I assume that Zoro asked Kinemon to cut iron to make an entry. Because, we know that Zoro can cut iron without problems, but, in order to make Brownbeard & co enter the shutter, it seems that being 2 to cut make it easier.
I think that they both began to cut at the exact same place, so the iron would fall and so it would allow the others to enter.

On the second point, i felt the same, and thought the same. But, about Vergo, I'm not sure that Luffy will learn him things… They sould be on equal levels, or Vergo should be stronger...

Well it's simple really; if one person cuts, you only have a slash in the wall. Definitely not an opening big enough for the Future Pirate King aka Brownbeard-sama. Even if Zoro were to use two swords, the opening still wouldn't be big enough.

Meh, think back to Aqua Laguna when Zoro and Luffy worked together to make an opening and you shall find the answer you seek. So that's why you have Zoro slashing at one end, and Kinemon slashing at another with a decent gap between them.

    Was a pretty solid, big door. You can see both Kinemon and Zoro cutting the door while Brownbeard rams it with a battering rod.

The thing about Urouge-san is that his old bounty actually had meaning to it. It wasn't about how high it was (yeah, it was the lowest), but rather about the significance of it. 108 is considered to be a very auspicious number. It's a perfect 3 digit multiple of 3, among other math concepts that melt it down to 3, with 3 representing perfect balance or something. It's the number of beads they use on those necklaces the guy wears, it's the number of Liangshan heroes, and I'm pretty sure there are other reasons as well. I haven't really thought about this in over 2 years.

Long story short, he wasn't given that bounty because of his power level.

Having said that, this post of mine is veering off topic, so let's not continue this.

I guess you can decide whether Busoshaku Haki would make a sword sharper or not, but Haki has been used on many weapons to augment them and could make the Kuja's arrows go through rocks and buildings.

I'm disapointed that Killer's bounty hasn't gone up by that much in 2 years. Given that Kidd has such a big rise, i'd have thought he'd get at least 260+ by now…

I understand what you mean, but the truth is that he's only the second in command, and the threat (thus highest bounty) should always be the captain.

Zoro's 120M bounty was also way lower than Luffy's 300M pre-time skip, even though they were more or less around the same level in terms of strength.

I guess the government always blames the captain for his crew's actions. The rest of the crew get bounties only when they defeat someone noteworthy or do something that draws a lot of attention to themselvs.

Apart from Tebago, Pekoms, and Kid there are about 6 clearly unknowns and 2 or 3 possible guys we already know. Lucci seems to be one and I'm going on a limb and saying that there is a guy who looks like Bege. I have a feeling more than half of the characters in silhouettes are unknown, and are relevant either to this arc and/or possibly saga or are involved with the Yonkou. I think the Yonkou all have some type of reach or network so that anytime a big name rookie like Luffy appears they'd at least be aware of it.

Or if they are a commander and have specific control over a larger crew. But yeah what you said seems spot on, my guess is as a crew gains not just notoriety but power even the weaker members of the crew have decent bounties like Rockstar being 94million as a beginner on Shank's crew.

ok people are way too focused on the bounties, bounties dont determine how strong you are. I actually wouldn't mind if Urouge stayed at 108,000,000 since it fits with his theme.

Cutting flesh and bone and swapping things physical and abstract is a bit different to cutting something as hard as diamond. And I dispute the 'without opening ur chest' bit, since when he removes smoker's heart, there's a hole in his chest.
