Smoker surmises that the string-puller is an inside man…
I don't see how Joker could falsify reports if he wasn't.
Smoker says the string-puller has to be a G-5 marine

Joker falsifies the G-5 reports, which is a marine base.

So seriously i'm the only one that saw that thing on Velgo's face as a freakin COOKIE ? u're all 'steak steak steak' but srsly i just see a bitten off cookie that has some syrup on it. Steak doesen't have the lines outward it has them dig into the damn steak so a syrup on top of a cookie to me makes more sence.
The more I look…
...
...the more I think it looks like a pie crust.
IMO two things speak for the fact that Virgo belongs to BM:
1. He has a friggin steak on his left cheek (or any other food that looks like a steak).
2. He came from Dressrosa (to me it sounds like a "pink" island, maybe the cake island of BM). Though we don't know where Dressrosa is located (GL, NW or North Blue (=Law's home-sea) or any other Blue). Now a fact that speaks against Virgo being part of the BM-pirates:
"Did you really think HE had no idea?" … "That's why HE carefully snuck Monet in here." ...
If those two lines from the first page are translated correctly (IDK if the Japanese seperates genders in such lines or if it could be both genders) we can assume that Virgo is a subordinate of a male pirate/WG officer/Vegapunk.For the people who still think Virgo=Vegapunk:
Would a scientist who can 1HKO a 440mio-shichibukai with a CoA-bamboo-stick need to be protected by a bodyguard like Sentomarou? I know Sento is a full-official marine now, but I doubt Vegapunk trained his physical strength this much in the last 2 yrs.The cover is nice too. The old story of the race between a rabbit and a turtle. Sanji carrying the turtle symbolizes that Sanji is strategical smarter than Zoro (cause the turtle won the race with its brain in the story). Sanji showed his cleverness several times in the story (to name a few times, one time @ Alabasta and on EL when closing the gates of Justice so the vessels crashed together).
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
A man stuck into a treasure chest and a woman stuck into a barrel loving each other is also plain stupid. But it's Oda's sense of humor.
Virgo either works for a WG officer, Vegapunk or Kaidou.
My opinion is Kaidou, because what we've seen so far from him (only one of his subordinates and a glance of one of his favourite islands) implies that he is interested into technology. It's only plausible that he wants to know what the leading scientist of mass destruct weapons is up to.
Though the fact that Virgo knows Law from the past makes my theory fishy on the other side. But maybe Law has sum kind of connection with Kaidou, so he wants to take him down. Same could be said bout BM, but I doubt Virgo works for her like I said above.
He works for Joker i said last chapter discussion that he was either joker or worked for joker also big mom likes candy not meat so he has no chance of working for her at all!
Smoker surmises that the string-puller is an inside man…
I don't see how Joker could falsify reports if he wasn't.You're right about that... This could go all the way up to Doflamingo, for all we know. "Aim higher."
Nobody is saying that there isnt an inside man. But people are saying that joker could be the one that has an inside man. Caesar talks to joker and joker talks to the inside man to falsify reports. That is the idea. It could be that joker is the inside man but nothing has been shown that he is and the other scenario could as well be the fact.

Okay, so if Joker is not in the WG… Which I suppose is possible...
Is the working theory that he is working for a Yonkō?
it looks to me that this Weldo dude might be the gravity devil fruit user…

Based on absolutely nothing…?

No idea, that or an independant organization. But honestly connecting that organization and the will of law and luffy to overcome an younkou could be connected, but at the same time he could as well be the insider, but we honestly dont know.

…I can actually believe this.
I mean, the steak/piecrust/tart/cookie could be stuck to his face due to that, and he might have used his ability to do something to the bamboo pole to make it 'heavier' (maybe changing the gravity of the object)
he might also be changing the gravity around/inside Law, thus causing the pain
EDIT: he might be altering the gravity around Law to make him stay down also?

…lightness gravity?
OMFG, I didn't read so much crap in one thread as I did in this one. Before Haki was explained by Rayleigh for everything that happened and couldn't be explained right away Haki was the explanation. Now, when Wergo obviously uses CoA, some people think that he did not use Haki, but that it has something to do with his (unconfirmed) DF. Then some people think Sanji used CoC, even though Oda put the skull and crossbones above the shark clearly indicating it's been poisoned… After FY arc, people bitched how easily the NFP went down, now people are bitching how CC defeated the SHs so easily... Are you ever satisfied? Because whatever Oda does, some people are always bitching... I guess those people won't ever be satisfied.

So basically, Miss Valentine but instead of manipulating his own weight, he manipulate others… interesting.

If so, it would have to be a paramecia that affects several aspects of gravity (strong as well as weak gravity). Because thre is already a DF that has one aspect of gravity, the increaced attraction of higher gravity, Its the logia DF: the Yami Yami no Mi (Darkness DF)= "The first and foremost strength, as demonstrated by Blackbeard, is that it allows the user to control darkness and its unique property of gravity." (copied for OP wiki) Thats how BB can draw someone to him.
But thats not a true gravity DF as it doesn't affect all aspects of gravity (say weakened gravity to make an enemy float or bounce around, not having any footing would handicap them in a fight).
So there could actually be a gravity DF. I like the idea
If Vergo has the gravity DF, I don't see how it would function much differently from Blackbeard's DF…
He would just be trading the "infinite storage" feature for more pain resistance. IDK, Oda might pull it off.
EDIT: Nevermind, Kat's explanation is better. Also, light gravity, was this pun purposeful?

Shiki would probably be the "floating gravity", seeing as he has a levitation DF.
Big rumor right now is that Velgo/Virgo has a Paramecia DF that allows him to change density of objects, which could be pretty cool if true and done right.

I'm sorry, but a lot of posts in this thread have been. . .infuriating. To say the least.
It's like a pool of never ending bitching!
-some chapters ago, Law defeats Smoker (with difficulty, although next to no one aknowledged the fight was really close. . .)- "Law is so Hax! Oda, why did you make him SO HAX??" -Law is in pain because of something WE DON'T EVEN KNOW, and, when he's defenseless, Wergo smacks his head-"What, Law got beaten, just like that? ODA, why did you make Law so LAME???".
-beggining of the arc - "What, Luffy and Zoro defeated a dragon JUST LIKE THAT?They are just TOO STRONG!! ODA, what are you doing??" - Zoro is unconscious on the floor (later revealed to be caused by a super-drunking-bullet)- "What? Zoro got taken out so easily? He is LAME!"-Luffy, after OBVIOUSLY dominating CC for a whole chapter, gets knocked out by something WE STILL DON'T KNOW, just like Smoker, Tashigi, Franky and Robin, without any trace of a fight- "What???? All defeated?? By such a weakling??? Then, why the training??? They can't survive in the new world, they are lame! BAD WRITING!!!!".
I won't even enter the discusion of what is bad writing, bad plot, plot holes, etc. . .concepts which a lot of people seem to just happily throw out there all the time (and yes, it also happens in the Naruto and Bleach threads), if what Wergo did was Haki or not Haki or. . .the. . .grill-grill devil fruit?
Anyways, great chapter.
I do think Oda is twisting things around like mad, right now this arc is getting franticaly chaotic. Dress Rosa? SAD? "HE"?
I hope next chapter is plot exposition time. Or the beggining of Law's flashback. Or wathever. But I need some answers before I go freaking nuts!
(And awesome cover, awesome Kinemon, awesome Blue Walk! And sharks! Love sharks. . .)
Because it looked like he was Vulcanized when he obviously is not made of rubber.
Only this forums repeatedly assert this vulcanization shit! It has never been confirmed. This is how I deal with Oda, that is go with the most obvious choice or the first thing that comes to your mind… But I still like to browse through theories. I believe that what happened to his arm and the bamboo is CoA. And he is just another one of those forgetful character: he got caught in the moment and forgot that he is in the middle of eating and ridiculously left a piece of meat hanging by his beard.
I predict that the whirling device is about to be assaulted by mass amounts of shit right about this point in the thread…

Thanks guys. This thread really needed your posts.
Also let me just say that the serious concerns in the previous pages on why the hell the steak got stuck in Wergo's jaw were hilarious and annoying at the same time.
Sometimes you just can't help but wonder if these people even read the same manga as you do.
Chapter 680: The Return of Eneru
Summary: Monet, being the honey badger that she is, crosses Velgo (Virgo, Welgo, same shit) and reveals her plan and her real boss, God Eneru.
**so two years of study/training or improvement for Robin and Franky = taken out by a logia user without a fight?
never expect them to pose any serious challenge agianst logia user or carrys out counterattack to inflict any notable wounds upon** logia user
but not like that–--as they were powerless when they confronted Kizaru two years ago
No no no no no no NO NO NO nononono, noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
!
They were taken out by a character with a very sneaky and extremely potent poison based attack. Logia intangibility got nothing to do with it.
I also don't get why people are always b*tching bout different power-lvls. They like to bitch all the time.
A certain time ago, people have been complaining bout the lack of strong head hunters. Oda served 'em the Yeti Cool Bros. and some still complained why they took out Zoro + co.
After that one of 'em got pwned by Law and they bitched again.
But try to look from a different angle on it:
Every loss makes Luffy stronger. When he fought Croc the first time, he found out bout his weakness.
Since he lost to Magellan he is now super-immune to most poisons (not every poison as we saw in the latest chaps).
I'm excited to c what Luffy does with sheer haki without any Gumo Gumo since he is Kaeroseacuffed now.
CC's power lvl is not worth a discussion any way, in the end he will be beaten up by Luffy. Or don't u get the bottom line of this story?

I guess you too never will be satisfied until everyone thinks like you. And about people always bitching… well, you are doing the same thing.
There is no such thing as plotholes with Oda.
Never….
Ever....
Never...
Am i the only one how thinks that Wergo is a member of BigMam´s piratecrew? One of her generals?
I mean, a biff in his face? come on….That would also be a good continuation of the already existet storyline.
Fishmanisland-Luffy declared war
PH-Luffy meets LAW and allies with him to take done a younko
PH-They meet BigMam´s lefthand(righthand) man and take him done!My theory is that Wergo(and or a part of BM piratecrew) is some sort of teacher/someone that had resbonsibility for LAWs education/childhood(or atleast one of them.... like Red hair pirates/Luffy)
But he is obviously a bad guy.
So Law wantet to track him/them done and take revenge.
When he finally found them, he lost the fight and his crew was taken hostage(he didn't meet Wergo back then, he just fought some other members of BigMoms crew)
Then he made some sort of deal with them (like jinbe) and after that he made a plan on his one to free his crew and take done Bigmam.Sorry for my bad english, i'm german, but i hope u guys understand what i meen :P

Surprised? Did you see the other forums? I assure you:it's far worse.
It doesn't matter if the plot keeps evolving, if Oda keeps bringing great designs or delivering extremely funny moments:chapter after chapter, there are people that only say 'boring','disappointing' or at best,'average'…and some of them are even implying that Oda doesn't known how to write One Piece anymore. This phenomenom is not exactly rare and generally happens when someone achieve greatness as an artist: he/she start to get criticized for anything and everything by people that never accomplished nothing remotely comparable in art. It's almost like a curse.
So, here they are:a bunch of pretentious fools that have the luck of enjoying One Piece for FREE and act as if Oda owes them something. The truth is: people like these will never be fully happy, because nothing will truly satisfy them long enough. When something start to please them, it's just a matter of time until they begin to see flaws on it...and soon, they'll only see these 'flaws' and close their eyes to everything else.
But then, why they simply don't stop reading One Piece - like me and many others did with Naruto and Bleach, for example - if it bothers them so much? Because, deep within, they known that they should be blaming themselves and not Oda for the majority of things that they regard as 'failures' of him. Believe me or not, these people would be the first to 'jump of the bridge'- right after zachri,of course,rsrs- if One Piece was no longer scanlated or published from today on. It's really sad, but, unfortunately, some people only learn to appreciate things when they lose them...

I totally agree with you.
Jesus, what is the deal with people still saying "Welgo/Wergo"? Virgo. Works with Monet. Astrology. C'mon.
It's the best guess at his name by miles.
Wasn´t said before that the katakanas of his name can´t be romanized as Virgo??

Because more accurate translations say his name is Welgo/Velgo (haven't heard Wergo though), not Virgo/Vergo. And he doesn't need to be Virgo/Vergo because of Monet, I don't know why you think he does. Even the official One Piece wiki calls him Velgo, but yeah…that isn't the most accurate source.
Theres already Welgo/Wergo/Velgo/Vergo/Virgo

CCC used "Wergo" for the mangarule translation, though previously stated that it has a German-like pronunciation that sounds like "Vergo."
@CCC:
You do have my motives pinned down, for the most part, but in this case it's because that was Aohige's first instinct in the spoiler thread. It would be pronounced "Vergo" though, a la German. And Welgo/Velgo just looks stupid.

Seems to be a case of personal preference in some part in the spelling, though I trust it is phonetically "Vergo."

Now I remember!!!
Well Aohige_Ap used Wergo (Vergo) in spoiler thread, you cant get more accurate than that before Oda gives us the real thing ^^
Virgo, the name of the constellation, is spelled "berugo" in Japanese.
So it looks like a lot of people have been talking about how powerful CC is to be able to take out the SHs and Smoker. I mean, yes, he's quite strong, but seriously, think about it this way. If Luffy had on an oxygen mask (which is likely what he'll use to defeat CC), he would've wiped the floor with him. I think Wergo/Welgo/Virgo is the bigger threat.
Just watch, Smoker will defeat Vergo, and the cycle will finally be complete.
this is a good way to end it wonder if Smoker will do it in tashigis body
do you think that Vegapunk will appear in the arc even just in a flashback or something. I think he will be introduced after the arc when he gets informed of the situation on punk hazard like the five elder stars got introduced.
what is going on in the top panel of this page with nami's coat http://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v60/c672/15.html It's weird

Sanji is hunched over. Ever get so cold that you sit hugging your knees, and pull the shirt/coat over the knees? Thats What Sanji is doing with the coat.
well,I do hope that is the cause
I don't really see the problem with Franky and Robin being taken out. The way I see it is that Luffy would've been taken out sooner had CC known that he was immune to poison and hadn't underestimated him in different ways. Whatever he did to Luffy, he just did it right away to the others. AND, we don't know if there was a struggle. I don't think this is a matter of them losing to a logia, it's a matter of losing to CC's specific abilities.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Yeah, that stuck out to me, too…
Which means that Monet probably told him, which means that Monet was purposefully leading Law to the new guy. Also, we have the name of a new organization? S.A.D.
Well I assumed that he did know after the new guy said, "Did you really think he didn't know what was going on?" I assumed the "he" referred to CC.

You guys forgot smth … gas gas - no mi doesn't have to be visible ... for example natural methane gas is invisible to the naked eye so ofc to everyone would seem like they got owned in an instant but what actually makes sense is that he used sleeping gas on them , they didn't even bleed, they were just out and luffy might be immune to poisons but he definitely isn't immune to sleeping gas, a simple yet very efficient way to win. Also CC was Vegapunk's disciple so he ain't stupid he uses his brain to fight and asses situations. What i wonder is if that on Welgo's face is a cookie ... that was my first thought when i read the manga linking him directly to Big mom as one of her 'admiral class' fighters also the glasses he's wearing are for sun like the ones Pekoms and Tamago had.
I thought that was a bandage on his face?
I know this might have been asked before but: what exactly does Welgo have on his left cheeck ? It looks like he glued a loaf of bread to his chin and just started walking around with it.
@No:

It's the One Piece.

ODa doesn't drw bandages in that fasshion, a grilled design.
Look at this, it shows how Oda always draws bandages on the face as seen on Mr.5's cheek … same side as this new guy lol.
I'm curious about who you guys think the end villan of this arc will be. Do you guys think Velgo or CC? Maybe someone we haven't seen yet? I'm hoping for the latter. The only way I think that happens is if Velgo is working for someone other than an emperor. If this S.A.D organization is run by Doflamingo could he possibly be the one?! That would be beyond epic.

The way Welgo refers to a "HE" snuck Monet in to spy… it makes be think that Welgo & Monet both work for smae person, mayby Joker.
about that bodyparts becoming black when using coa, i think every use of coa after rayleighs explanation was shown in this way. Before rayleigh explained it the reader and the crew "didn't know" about it, and it remained a mysterious way of inflicting damage onto df users. Thats why oda never used the black body parts. Now everyone knows what it is and it is shown, so the reader knows whats happening. That explains why there is no visible coa during the war.
yes! My thoughts exactly
In my opinion, CoA turns something black when it's not otherwise obvious that they would be using CoA, which is why Pekoms didn't turn black when he punched Caribou, since punching a logia is obviously CoA-based. Or it could be used to show when they use it to power-up a weapon. However, neither of these explain why Wergo's sleeve started to turn black as well. Maybe he's just sloppy or that's just what happens. I also agree that this didn't happen pre-time-skip to keep it mysterious.
