Seriously though Hiriluk chose to kill himself with explosions so it wouldn't be chopper's act that killed him. While he was dying anyway he didn't want chopper to feel responsible for the thing that killed him so he chose to blow himself up and the hat flew hundreds of feet away. I think the explosion did it's job.

I think the design is really just your preference. And so far yeah no unique style (Hopefully we see more). I'm really not for Okiku joining either. My mind may change though. It depends on how the arc plays out. We may be introduced to a character who will join, or maybe jimbei will officially join and that will be the last member.

I'm sure Jinbei will join this arc, but I don't have the confidence others have that we will get one more member this arc too. I'm pretty sure we will get one more member after Jinbei but I don't know why everyone is so certain that the last crewmember will def join in Wano, I mean it's certainly possible but I don't think it's etched in stone

Kiku is giving me vibes of "girl of the arc". Not a princess this time around, or maybe she is, but essentially someone that has been fighting to take Orochi out of power. If I'm right, Kiku is the type of character that will stay in her country once the conflict is over for the reason that she is an arc-centric character… although one could say that she will become a major ally later for the big war at the end of OP, especially because Wano is so linked to the ancient history of the world (and it's Japan!).
Tama is much more suspicious as future "nakama", in my opinion, because she's been getting a lot of focus despite not presenting any evident relevancy for the development of this arc. Obviously, Oda is smart, so he's been using Tama as a device for the plot to move from one place to the next destination, mixing her in with the events as a victim we should care about... but there's clearly more about her, like her connection with Ace and her desire to go out to the sea. Above all else, her attachment with Luffy has grown really strong and I can't ignore that she was wearing Luffy's strawhat throughout chapter 912. Her existance goes beyond Wano.
That said, Tama is still a little child that has no deal being a pirate yet, so I don't see it happening... although there's always someone to remember us about the role of cabin boy/girl. Well, regardless of what it is, I'm expecting something big from Tama and her relationship with Luffy.

While it's absolutely nothing new for newer members to have missed out on big moments that the older members were there for, I think we can all admit that someone joining in an arc after a Yonko(s?) has been beaten would feel particularly shocking. After all, Wano is what nearly all of these TS arcs have been building up to. Like at the very least, I would want to believe that Oda would have said character be present in the arc in some fashion, even if they didn't join at the end of Wano. For someone brand-new to join after that point, I don't know, it'd really run the risk (Except for reals this time) of them feeling inconsequential to the crew. It'd be one thing if the last member was following a similar pattern as Jinbe in regards to their development and notable feats being spread out through several arcs (not to mention we knew about him since Arlong Park), but that seems extremely unlikely for a brand new character to get something like that.
Also, the candidate joining in the Wano arc, presumably more or less at the same time Jinbe is joining "officially", feels like that was what Oda was alluding to when he said nakama would "show up successively". I know some believe it's referring to the Grand Fleet, or have an entirely different interpretation altogether, but that's just how I always saw it. Alternatively, you could view WCI as being when Jinbe finally joined, therefore someone else joins in the next arc, which is Wano.

Come on now. She's a carbon copy of Robin, just with a slightly less pronounced nose. That's a pretty huge strike against her. People have been saying that Carrot is too similar to Chopper, and their only similarities are literally just their upper lips and the few extra lines that Oda uses to depict fur instead of skin.

There's a feeling that we're in the endgame after Wano because Luffy will be 3 quarters of the way to one piece. If a new crewmember is introduced after Wano, they'll only really have spent a short time on the ship before Luffy becomes pirate king. It would feel too much like they just hitched a ride on the winning train, or like they were really just the tag-along for the final arc(s).

I don't want to argue in favor of Tama as next Strawhat, but I don't see your point as a problem. Rather, I'd say that this job in the crew is fit for someone willing to show that he/she is a hard worker. The message is: if you want to follow your dreams, you gotta make some effort. And that's what Tama should do if she's not ready as a Kunoichi yet.

Personally, it would be pretty cool/touching to see her enthusiatic and giving all of herself to the job just to deserve being in the ship. Not knowing how to do it properly would be a funny gag, since Tama would have that dumb look on her face of someone confidently doing something wrong, and then the crew looking hopeless at her, lol.

Maybe, but all the other strawhats are able to do their jobs well and Luffy's big on his crew being able to handle themselves. Well, I'm lying, she kind of did, but the result was Luffy being choked for a while, which quite understandably wouldn't result in amazement from him. Other than that all the moments that have made her stand out in terms of fighting or singular skills, in some way or the other, and conveniently or not, have happened when Luffy was not there. Sulong, Mirror World action, even the high jump in Zou that impressed Franky. Heck even the little bits in the Seducing Forest.

Bonney can be an important character with joining the crew though?? Based on where oda is going with her story, how does that at all give her a shot of joining the crew?
Attacked BB, solo supernova pirate on the run without a crew, has a power that could be behind gorosei not looking the same after 20 years, has connection even with revolutionaries. She is similar in a way to robin imho. But she could stay as vivi and not join the crew, or go the robin way.
Where are the shots for Bonney? They connect her to the Revolutionary Army if anything, not the Straw Hats. After the reveal at the Reverie this should be quite clear because the only thing that could even fit a slight connection with Luffy's crew was the uncertainty of her personal situation, which was a weak argument by itself. There has never been anything solid for her, just the fact that we didn't know about her motivations and connections and she was a blank canvas to throw any wild speculation on.
Pudding makes a lot more sense, thematically and emotionally. Even if it's weird to see a character like her in the crew. I certainly don't think she's going to join, but at least with her… there's something to start with.
The shots for Bonney are that people like her. Apart from that, she has been far far away from the Strawhats' storyline.
But even funnier than people calling her shots, it's saying that Bonney is the "next Vivi", lol. These people come from the future, that's the only explanation.
Age and lack of battle prowess aside, how would Tama's power be useful on the crew? Chopper already communicates with animals and Luffy tames them all the time.

I didn't think much of her chances even then, but then, I wasn't thinking about Carrot or anything else besides the return of Jinbe. When he reentered, Pudding had already been outted, so I never had a chance to take her seriously.

It is because of Chopper's plan that she was able to topple the cauldron spilling the water on the ground that amplified her electro. Otherwise her Electro was easily blocked by Randolph. Also Noble croc was the most powerful there. He was really huge.
And she did not take the fleet, just the steering wheels and had to be rescues by Brook.

There's a lot of people that believe Carrot will join the crew. In this particular thread, I'd say it's around 50/50, but when you branch out into other enviroments, you'll see much more Carrot supporters, including older readers or the more casual crowd.
Not that this is an argument in her favor, obviously.

Randolph was doing hit and run attacks when Nami, Chopper, and Carrot were trying to get back to the ship. She saved Nami from one attack, and then clashed with Randolph the next time he attacked. In the fight she zapped Randolph's crane preventing him from doing anymore hit and run attacks.
And her going Monster Chopper during her Sulong is, as has been pointed out ad nauseum, not helpful 99% of the time since it can't be accessed without a full moon
Oda is very inconsistent with when a full moon pops up. There was one when the SHs were on Zou, and there's another one less than two weeks later in Totland. Also, there'll very likely be one in Wano (since using sulong against Kaido's forces was Inu's plan). So she can go sulong whenever Oda feels like there being a full moon.
AND Chopper is bound to learn something similar anyway making her extraneous (my guess is he'll call it Kirin Point).

She's the guardian of the entrance to BM's main island. She made a fool out of Luffy, and she won a 3v1 fight against Chopper, Nami, and Carrot. She's plenty powerful. You're also forgetting that Randolph and Diesel were hyped as much as Amande, all three being shown to storm an island alone and beat the inhabitants to get ingredients for BM's cake.

She isn't deliberately set up to appear again for a part 2. That's just a possibility, and a kind of far-fetched one because she doesn't seem to be much of a fighter and if there is a part 2 I expect Big Mom coming to the SHs with a combat force. Another one would be to stay in her hometown till the Straw Hats end their journey and then meet with them and Sanji in special again.
On the Carrot bit? She was the focus of quite a few moments, but then again, you would respond back by saying that these moments are irrelevant because you say so and I'd answer back by saying that irrelevant my ass because I say so. This debate is sterile.
