Embrace the stupidity.
This message came two years late. Probably more considering what people suggest.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Luffy took Shank's lesson to heart, and he wouldn't take in an 8 year old that can't handle themself, ESPECIALLY not after the timeskip lesson got drilled into his head.
Which is why my real answer towards Tama joining or not is dependent if she becomes a ninja or not by the end of Wano. At the very least I think the conclusion for her story arc will end differently than what it did with Ace. As in, Luffy promising to pick her up.
I look forward to her meeting Raizo.
To be honest, I do not see her joining, but her story intrigues me.
-
This is not naruto, you can't become a fully fledged ninja in the space of an arc (a week in average) or in 8 years of training.
-
So, how long does it take?
-
@K.:
So, how long does it take?
see how long is Ash taking to become a Pokemon trainer?, more or less.
-
see how long is Ash taking to become a Pokemon trainer?, more or less.
Is the premise of him becoming a trainer or a master. He seems to have been a trainer since season 1.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
At the very least Tama has 3 years of training?
-
oh ye that, my brain mistranslated
-
But I think the equivalent would be trainer not master in this context.
How long does it take to become a trainer/ninja? If we keep with the Naruto references: a Genin.
-
Considering her only combat feat has been to throw dangos at a baboon, and a sneak attack at a surrendering mook, a lot more than 3 years.
-
If the artificial aging process is both permanent AND not merely physical but mental, that could suffice to make someone old enough and experienced enough in a short span of time. I'm actually impressed how much this preposterous joke of a guess is still being discussed, I haven't seen it this lively since people were claiming this was somehow the way Momonosuke was going to become qualified to join, although that was back in Caesar Clown's laboratory where anything was possibly chemically if there were giant children and whatnot.
-
@K.:
It's called having fun. BattleFranky asked if anyone had suggested Tama being forcibly aged, to which the response was, if anyone would do it, it would have to be Bonney as that is her power. Considering the last time we saw her with Kuma. The only way to connect them, for now, would be that Kuma is sent to kill Luff and Bonney follows. But, Kuma would have to be sent to Wano. Or, Tama sneaks on the ship and the encounter happens afterwards.
Not to be read as: [THEORY] Bonney will age Tama so she can join the crew.
We can talk about how things could be without banking it as a prediction.
?? Define this so called "fun" to me

Thinking of different ways the story can develop, using the elements the story has provided.
For some using their imagination is fun.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
I find it funny you find it so strange in a forum where there are threads such as: Things you would like to see in OP, Dumb predictions, Theories that do not deserve a thread. If you think people are not entwrtaining themselves when posting in the threads, not sure what to say.
Or is it not fun because it does not talk about Carrot?

There's a thin line between plausible and stupid. Carrot, given all that we've been presented with, is absolutely plausible. Discussions on whether or not she will join can be had based on facts that the story itself has presented us with. Saying that a child (that was just introduced) will meet a character (not even present in the arc) who will for some reason age her 10 years while simultaneously granting her 10 years of ninja training just so that she can join is stupid because it's not based on anything from the story. This thread devolves into chaos when people start throwing out random characters who could join when the story itself has presented nothing to support it.

And you keep missing the point.
A question was asked, and an answer with elements of the story was given. Did you miss the part where I say: "Not to read as a theory"?
Did you miss the part where I say I do not think she will join?
The thread devolves into chaos when people answer condescendingly, just to ridicule others.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Not to mention that nothing is absolutely false. If Tama were 10 years older, she would have a lot of story elements in her favor. Mainly, her connection to Ace.
-
As far as people know they are throwing out names for the sake of just having fun and not because it is a real possibility( and trying to shove it as such down others throats), why not?
This is a place to have fun discussing a work that is meant to be funny and entertaining. This is not supposed to be serious deal, regardless of the actual "chances" of a character joining any discussion we do here is ultimately futile and have no other purpose than to keep us engaged on One Piece (unless someone actually believes a character joining or not will be decided by us here on this thread reaching a consensus on the matter… which would not be surprise me seeing how some people act). And it definitely is way more interesting to watch than people treating others as imbeciles because they supposed failed to properly foresee what Oda is planning based on a bunch of made up guidelines everyone has and pretend to be factual. Well, if not interesting, at least not irritating.

Why even entertain such outlandish stuff? You can call it condescension if you'd like, but this thread is crazy enough without just making up stuff. I mean, why stop with a 10 year old being turned into an adult by a character not even in the arc? Let's go with Hawkins being turned into a woman by Ivankov and then joining the crew. Or Ace being resurrected and then joining the crew? If people want that kind of discussion then fine, but I hope people like me can get a thread where we can discuss theories that are at least plausible.
-
Also, we're still not even 10 chapters deep into the arc yet. Some of you all would be terrible gamblers. XD

It is not me calling it, it is what you are doing. Not only did you barge into a conversation "Embrace the stupidity", without understanding what was being talked about. You try to tells us: why are you even talking about this, are you that stupid? To clarify one more time.
- Franky asked if anyone had suggest a chemical to age Tama.
- I answered, that it would not be a chemical, it would have to be Bonney. As she has the power to age people. To which I added a second response, to the possible question: "How would Tama and Bonney meet."
At no point, did either of us, went: IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY! THAT'S HOW SHE WILL JOIN THE CREW! Or whatever else you are interpreting from our conversation. At no point did we grab onto this as a theory, dumb prediction, mental wank to push the Tama for nakama agenda. Nor do we think that this is how things will play out.
I mean, why stop with a 10 year old being turned into an adult by a character not even in the arc? Let's go with Hawkins being turned into a woman by Ivankov and then joining the crew. Or Ace being resurrected and then joining the crew?
It does not have to stop there. But connecting Bonney to Wano or after is much easier.
- The reverie lasts a week.
- Im will announce the targets of the purge, which one of them seems to be Luffy, during this time.
- The Government sends Kuma to eliminate Luffy.
- Bonney follows.
- Hawkins says the probability of Luffy surviving the end of the month is 19%. With the prediction being: "the end of the month" maybe, Wano lasts a month.
- With the Reverie finishing before the end of Wano, it gives time for Kuma to get there.
- Alternatively, Kuma and Bonney show up after Wano, Tama stows away on the ship.
- Tama stowing away has precedence because Ace died and did not fulfill his promise. So, even if Luffy does not want a kid on the boat, and even if he promises to pick her up. Tama might say: "There is no way I am falling for that again."
If people want that kind of discussion then fine, but I hope people like me can get a thread where we can discuss theories that are at least plausible.
The same way Pekoms betraying Big Mom was stupid/nonsensical because he had not shown any signs of doing so.
Yeah, it is more likely that any idea will be bashed before even trying to understand how could things develop in such a way.

My gamble so far is in regards of what this thread pertains:
- No new crew member in/from Wano.
- We have not yet met the new crew member.

I didn't barge into any conversation. I was responding to FelRes. You might want to check your facts. What was being suggested on it's face was what I considered stupid. I didn't call anyone stupid. The premise itself was and remains stupid. Now, if Bonney somehow ends up in Wano, I'd be happy to debate the merits of the arguments.
- Franky asked if anyone had suggest a chemical to age Tama.
- I answered, that it would not be a chemical, it would have to be Bonney. As she has the power to age people. To which I added a second response, to the possible question: "How would Tama and Bonney meet."
I understood what was being discussed. Just because I didn't actively engage in it doesn't mean I couldn't form an opinion about it what was being suggested.

I never said you did. Not sure why you're so offended. I've had plenty of stupid ideas. I never got bent out of shape by someone calling them out or pointing out how terrible they were. People think my reasons for Carrot joining are stupid, but I've been happy to debate the topic because Oda's given us tons of suggestive reasons to believe it's possible. All I'm asking for is a little logic or at least some supporting evidence. Otherwise, this already crazy thread is just gonna devolve into reddit-level nonsense.

The premise itself was and remains stupid. Now, if Bonney somehow ends up in Wano, I'd be happy to debate the merits of the arguments.
And Felres was asking if it was really being speculated, which the answer was no. Nothing was being suggested. We were not saying Bonney is going to age Tama. Only: "if Tama was going to be aged, it would have to be Bonney." There is a difference.
I understood what was being discussed. Just because I didn't actively engage in it doesn't mean I couldn't form an opinion about it what was being suggested.
It just does not seem like it when you keep saying that we were suggesting what we were talking about.
I never said you did. Not sure why you're so offended. I've had plenty of stupid ideas. I never got bent out of shape by someone calling them out or pointing out how terrible they were.
No one is offended. But you insist that I am saying Bonney will age Tama. When the answer was more for a question like: "How can Tama be aged?" Franky's answer was a chemical compound, my answer is Bonney.
And that's why I am still confused. Again, no one was suggesting that it would happen that way. There is no need to provide evidence. We were just clarifying that if an aging process was utilized, Bonney would have to factor in some way or another.
You are asking for a little logic. I gave you a list of little logics, on how Bonney's presence could be taken to Wano or afterwards. On why Tama could be part of the story after Wano. And I can do this even though I do not support the "theory" of Tama being aged.

don't speak ill of Pudding

"Why are we entertaining such outlandish…" because we are at a new crewmate dead time and the most likely person is someone who isnt a home run. Everything about carrot has been said 10x so the only thing left right now are wild theories (for fun of course).

Speaking of far-fetched theories: What if Jimbe is so unrecognizable that the Strawhats need Law to transfer Jimbe's personality into Urashima…:ninja:
-
No fat guys in the crew
-
Jinbe isnt fat he's an absolute unit.
I'm in awe at the size of this lad.

Jinbe and Carrot fusing and then joining would probably be the answer to every person's complaint ever. Jinbarrot would be the true OP Messiah.

Weirdly enough we didn't saw any half-mink so far. BM had (true) interracial marriages with pretty much every race, but none of her kids seem to be half-mink. Maybe Oda decided that could too close to zoophilia and draw the line there?
Machvise's tail is still unexplained, though…

wtf!! that's Sabo face swapped to everyone xd.
no, but seriously tho, with Monet, Pudding, Perona, Wicca and Carrot, its clear Oda can do original stuff without touching Nami/Robin appearance.
whenever he comes with a too lazy design, the moment they all die within the realm of possibilities of this thread. -

… I'm not doing a bit here. This is pretty self evident from reading the manga for over a decade. Seriously, point to Nami. I think its either 8, 10, 18, or 27. It might also be 6, 11, or 23 if the drawing chosen was slightly off model.
Although having said that, its true that Kiku has more of a pointed nose than Nami.
Just enjoy his amazing men faces http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/475316brotherhood.jpg
Why do Ace and Luffy look so weird here? Is that just Ace and Luffy's features drawn onto Sabo? You can't say that Oda draws their faces the same if you're not using Oda's actual drawings.
Here's a more accurate sample of Oda's male faces:
-
uhm Sai is beautiful

Mhm, can Fishmen and Minkmen breed?
Fishmen and humans can breed so I don't doubt it.

Talking about Okiku, I just remembered to look at the RAWs and her name is written exactly the same as the Okiku from this tale. Just throwing it here so it can feed the theories of anyone who feels like it.
EDIT: Oh fuck, she is the owner of Cindry's shadow, isn't she?
Once there was a beautiful servant named Okiku. She worked for the samurai Aoyama Tessan. Okiku often refused his amorous advances, so he tricked her into believing that she had carelessly lost one of the family's ten precious delft plates. Such a crime would normally result in her death. In a frenzy, she counted and recounted the nine plates many times. However, she could not find the tenth and went to Aoyama in guilty tears. The samurai offered to overlook the matter if she finally became his lover, but again she refused. Enraged, Aoyama threw her down a well to her death.

Ignoring the recent introduction of O-Kiku. What are your initial thoughts? Do you think Oda will do his own spin on that tale?
