As in have a way for Pokemon to earn experience as you walk and maybe come across items or something.
Okay, okay, picture this.
Hatching eggs.
Real-world steps instead of or in addition to in-game steps.
Huh? Huh? Am I right?

Sean…you are a magnificent bastard...a million times yes
If they really wanted to do that they would have done it with the PokeWalker
If they really wanted to do that they would have done it with the PokeWalker
You battled things on the Pokewalker, and eggs can't battle. It wouldn't be worth it to have an entirely different function on that little thing for eggs.
Anyway, I'm picturing it now… somewhere, in Pokemon Centers or at the daycare or back at your home, or whatever... there'll be an "Incubator." Put an egg in there, save your game, walk around with your 3DS for a few days or so and... BAM, egg hatched.
I've been thinking it over, and the choice of which starter to pick is just getting harder to do. Fennekin was my first pick, then Froakie started to grow on me, and now Chespin is looking BAMF…I'm stuck between a rock, a hard place and Froakie.

Well yeah they are eggs. It wouldn't have taken that much eggs would have gone in the same as pokemon cept they wouldn't battle anything or go into a path it would sit there until it hatches.
The thing is for all the people that play Pokemon who breed for EV training it would be inconvenient to have to wait a few days for each egg and if in game steps are kept…then even if you don't breed for EV training it really defeats the purpose if it only takes 20min to lay and to hatch just by doing in-game steps.
Same boat, I cant decide between Froakie and Chespin…Fennekin isnt that far behind either

Well that's why I imagined it as an alternative to hatching eggs the old-fashioned way, not a replacement. Those who like to focus on breeding things can hatch eggs with the tried-and-true "toss something with Flame Body in your team alongside the egg and ride your bike like the wind" method, while those of us who would like to just passively hatch in-game gift eggs but not give up a slot on our team can use the hypothetical "Incubator" and then just say, "hey, this new 3DS feature is pretty neat" and then forget about it for a few months.
Glaceon is so unneccesary, Vaporeon can use most of its attacks…and is my 2nd fav :)
Leafeon and Glaceon were just added to give Flareon some much needed whipping boys
GTFO
@NateRich:
No more Eevee speculation :/
And burn Leafeon and Glaceon while youre at it
Leafeon I can agree with, but Glaceon is the only Eeveelution I actually care about, so not Glaceon
@RobbyBevard:
No its not. Plenty of things use psychic moves without having a typing in it.
Quoted for truth
@White:
They should remove the offensive advantage of rock over bug and flying types. So many pokemon get fucked over by stealth rock at this point.
No they shouldn't. Doing that would make Rock about as useless offensively, if not more so, as Grass.
@RobbyBevard:
They probably aren't going to mess with the balanced rock/paper/scissors game at this point. The game needed steel and dark types for various reasons, and they were introduced fairly early into the franchise and it is what it is now.
Granted, it could use some more tweaking yet so that for instance, poison isn't so useless offensively, or that some of the types don't have sooo many weaknesses compared to others (grass and rock especially)… but its probably not going change after 13 years and dozens of games setting it the way it is.
Of course, the physical/special split was pretty big and didn't come till what, gen 4? So...
That said, light type would make a lot of sense, and could be something that for instance, grass was strong against, or that mostly benefited heal-type moves.(Grass with its five weaknesses and seven thigns it can't hurt is kind of screwed, for instance. Giving it another defense would be kind.)
Poison used to be super-effective on Bug-types. I say return that advantage and maybe make it super-effective on Water-types considering the ridiculous amount of them.
Besides the Psychic-type has covered a good number of the ideas that a Light-type would.
@White:
The fox used Psychic/confusion in the trailer so it's a given that he will evolve into a fire/psychic.
Just because a Pokémon uses a move of a type unlike their primary type doesn't mean they are also partly that unlike type. For example, most Pokémon can use Normal-type moves and they aren't part Normal-type. In addition, many Fire-types can use Grass moves like many Water-types can use Ice-type moves, simply to counter types that are super-effective against itself.
@Jedi:
I heard a rumor that the new typeas will be light and sound, the 2 main Pokemon's will be one and the other
That would certainly give rise to Pokémon, Exploud for example, that would need the type.
hnnngh!
must resist…total...and all encompassing ... adorableness...
[/dies from cuteness]
D-DAMN IT.
I WAS DECIDED AND THEN YOU SHOWED ME THIS AND AND AND-
[/explodes]
It's funny for me how all of you talk about which starter to pick because of how he looks, while I'm just sitting here thinking how to feed and train these creatures so that they do their best in my underground cage Wi-fi battles.
Pokemon don't need food…they can survive on magic potions all day long.
I don't even try to pick my starter until I discover secondary typings and see what their final evos look like.
According to serebii the first form of each starter has just one type. So water, fire, grass. Nothing surprising here though.
Better quality picture of the legendaries.
!
@RobbyBevard:
Retroactive adding of typing is doable.
For example, Magnemite got a steel typing it didn't originally have.
And a lot of normal types could be switched up a little. Depending on what they added. Really all normal currently does is add a weakness to fighting, and stab normal moves (which aren't effective on anything.)
Pus, new evolutions of old things.
Actually, now that i think about it. It isn't really possible, and the main reason being Arceus. It is basically 'God' in the Pokemon Universe, and it had 16 plates….1 for every type....so it wouldn't be possible.........

Well, i don't think they will add more types, but in that case they could simply add more plates…. it's not a problem at all
I always thought Chespin was cute, but I cannot resist Fennekin. And besides, I so rarely choose fire starters because I don't like their design, I haven't used one since Torchic. I didn't want the fucking monkey and I didn't want the fucking pig. But I will gladly take that kitsune!
I also agree on having gym leaders have more pokemon in their teams. They don't have to be the powerhouses the Elite 4 are, but I would require some more strategy and effort.
Screw you! Glaceon is fucking awesome!
Sez you. Glaceon uses Blizzard on NateRich
I'd love for the leader of the villain team in Pokemon X & Y to be female. It'd be–I believe--the first main Pokemon game series to have a villain team leader be female.
I don't even try to pick my starter until I discover secondary typings and see what their final evos look like.
I'm usually the same, but I'm going to try reeeeal hard to remain uninformed about this game. I want this gen to be a surprise.
The starters evolutions are probably unavoidable, but everything else and game mechanics I can maybe not find out about. Simultaneous release will help a lot there, since won't be just waiting for 6 months after the japanese release this time.

Now, did it have that many plates… or was that how many were found?
I also agree on having gym leaders have more pokemon in their teams.
Or they could just have…. one...damn... Militank.
Leafeon is by far the best eeveelution. It tanks like a beast and deals outrageous amounts of damage with Leaf Blade and other stuff. Screw all the haters.

Espeon, Vaporeon and Umbreon are much better tanks.
I don't dislike any, the one I like most and I base my opinion only on design nothing else, is Jolteon.
Espeon, Vaporeon and Umbreon are much better tanks.
Espeon is a Special Attacking monster of a glass cannon with an awesome ability and Reflect + Light Screen. It doesn't really tank, as far as I know. You're right about the latter two, though. Vaporeon + Wish is just pure love.
@RobbyBevard:
Now, did it have that many plates… or was that how many were found?
In the movie, that is how many plates it had with it - within itself.
In the movie, that is how many plates it had with it - within itself.
Because the anime has NEVER contradicted the video games before, right?
Vaporeon is TOTALLLY the best eeveelution tank. If Jolteon wasn't so damn cool looking, it would be my favorite as well. And Glaceon is pretty useless with Vap around..
I wouldn't mind a rock eeveelution. It would hopefully be fast, so that might be interesting.

And for the first 8 years of the anime female pikachus had flat tails, and they STILL refuse to refer to Ash's Pikachu as "he" and always go with "it". (same for everyone else's critters, even in the cases where the gender is clear.)
Stuff changes to suit the games.
Movies have no bearing on the games. And its god creator thingie. It can make more types if it wants. (And considering there's 17 types that means it was missing one anyway….)
Also, fake eevees.

[/hide]
And yes, it DOES need a normal evolution!
And these are probably all cooler than what we'll actually get.

Awww. Those Eevee evos are adorable.
Ooooo, I like all those eeveelutions. Especially the dragon types.

My secret to defeating Miltank in G/S: Ghastly -> Curse -> 4 turns -> Miltank dead.

Even though I'm partial to having brand-new Pokemon, I'm still holding out that Gamefreak will have 17 different evolutions for Eevee one day.
I just know they've got some aces up their sleeves.
I never really liked or cared Eevee or their gimmicky stages, but as far as utility goes, Vaporeon shines in most areas. Offense, defence, team support, and weather advantages. Then agian, water types in general tend to be overpowered, or just higher on the on the list of options they have.

Or one X-Attacked Explosion/Selfdestruct.

Well yeah, the Militank is easy ONCE YOUR PREPARED FOR IT.
But when you face it unawares? Between roll out and milk drink, and some decent bulk? Total monster. Especially when everything else in the gym is a wimp.
And Glaceon is pretty useless with Vap around..
PREACH…...Esp and Umb doomed us all. Now some people wont be satisifed until Eevee gets every type :/
G/S practically handed you a Machop in the goldenrod mall. All you had to do was trade a Drowsee.
I the remakes you can't even hide behind a Ghost thanks to its Scrappy ability.

Yes.
It doesn't even matter that I can defeat it now.
That thing traumatized me.
Screw Bambi's mom, THIS is what broke me.
That damn Miltank…...so many white outs.
I remember always trying to blaze through the Clefairy, so I'd get to Miltank with little casualities. Most of the time it'd work out just fine, but then Clefairy would occasionally pull out Aeroblast from Metronome or something and screw me over.
Oh man i'm geting three generations behind i see, if i can get to myself a nintendo on my birthday.
All starters look good then again i'm not much of a starters haters with the exception of pignite(i despise that thing).
And in regards to the fakeeveelution topic
!
That ghost one looks so ridiculous I almost like it
Those are . . . . . interesting.
Although the poison one looks pretty cool.
I think the Fighting one is kinda clever.
I've never used Glaceon in the main games, but screw the haters, he kicked ass in Conquest! because the main antagonists used Dragons…
The flying one looks kinda pathetic. I mean as a bird.
It looks like it molt to the point it's dying.
Yeah, that Flying one looks bad.
The best one I see here so far is the "Aireon" in the first set that Robby posted.
Vaporeon is TOTALLLY the best eeveelution tank. If Jolteon wasn't so damn cool looking, it would be my favorite as well. And Glaceon is pretty useless with Vap around..

Glaceon is meant for Sp. Atk, and Espeon is shit when it comes to dealing with dragons.
More fanevolutions.
