seeing as it comes out in 3 months in japan i'm not surprised. The question is who will be playable in the demo

N](http://mynintendonews.com/2014/05/28/hyrule-warriors-will-feature-traditional-zelda-voice-acting/)ot surprising wouldn't be the same if Link could speak words

Nice to see some game developers refuse to move into 21st century.

2](http://mynintendonews.com/2014/06/23/famitsu-reveals-two-new-playable-characters-in-hyrule-warriors-plus-zant-will-appear/) new playable characters for Hyrule Warriors revealed Agitha from TP and a previously unknown individual named Lana. And Zant has been confirmed to appear in the game.
alright if agitha is playable then anyone could be playable
-
Groose or gtfo
-
there seems to be a heavy emphasis on TP so far.
And girls.
-
I'm really excited about this game. No matter the roster, I'll be glad to play this game.
I'm guessing around 20 characters. After marathoning Kingdom recently, I really hope Omega Force makes a Kingdom Musou next.
-
i was hoping 20 but the demo only had slots for 9 :(

I'm holding hope hat there is more since it is just the demo

Come on Nintendo, give us the Butler's son.

The fact they put creepy bug girl into the game (a remarkably minor character that no one expected/asked to be playable) leads me to think there will probably be more than 9 playable characters in the game. They shouldn't be that hard pressed to find more noteworthy characters from the entire Zelda franchise to draw back onto this minor character (unless there was someone up in the staff department that is a SUPER HUGE fan of her that convinced the development team to somehow put her). Heck, even Tingle is a more obvious choice to go with if they wanted a strange character in the roster (not that I'm complaining since she'll probably have an interesting move set).
To be honest though, I'll probably shit dog biscuits if they remembered Oracle of Seasons/Ages and got Nayru, Din, Ralph, and Onox.

I agree and to add to that I believe either Tezuka and/or Anouma said during E3 he/they were surprised by the amount of playable characters to me 9 characters wouldn't sanction that kind of reaction
-
I just hope all the characters have their own unique designs, most have so far but im still disappointed midna looks no different then when she was in TP.

@Venomous:

In Imp form it's kind of hard to make her different TBH, however, I do wish they would have used her humanoid form
-
…Agitha? Ok. Pretty random choice.
I just hope that one of the playable characters is a Goron, or even a Zora. It would be nice to see the other species of the series playable.
-
Its a first gen Musou game. It'll have 15 playable characters, tops.
Maybe a bunch of side characters with partial movesets however.
-
Anyone who thinks there will be more than the 9 characters are kidding themselves. We know Link has 4 weapons, Zelda 2, and Midna 2. That's basically 14 characters. We also know that not everyone will have more than one weapon, so we're basically set for a first game already. I can see one or maybe two others getting a 2nd weapon, but that's it.
The way I see it is they're using Agitha because they want to hold onto more of the popular characters for possible sequels.
-
Yeaaah now that I think about it, the game will probably have a fairly limited roster as it is the first iteration of this franchise through Zelda on the WiiU. Probably they would want to test the waters and get feedback before going all out and throwing in all sorts of characters.
For example, Pirate Warriors only had 13 playable characters with a handful of support and nonplayable villains (heck I don't think a single villain was playable in this one) whereas the second had 27 playable characters with 6 being villains. And with a HUGE universe like OP, there are a ton of potential musou-esque characters they could add, but of course, they probably were a bit cautious with their roster for the first title.
Still…9 feels VERY small for a current gen musou game even if it is the first iteration. And the fact that Agitha takes up one of the slots makes me feel a bit weird (THEN AGAIN Hancock took up 1 of the 13 in the first Pirate Warriors so...shrug)
-
Agitha? ..really? Y'know someone like Ashei would make a LOT more sense for this type of game if we were to add another TP character. But weird sidequest characters are fine too I guess. Know I wouldn't be surprised if we see the postman playable at one point.
-
Hmm, I think I'll wait for actual Famitsu scans to come out before passing judgement.
Regardless of who gets in, as long as Groose and Tingle make the cut I'll be happy camper. -
I'm really hoping for groose now. I'm pretty sure agitha is really popular in japan so that migt explain her inclusion. I don't know what to think of OC Lana however
-
This post is deleted!
-
and here is magazine pages with Lana (left) and Agitha (right)
(if anyone can find a large HQ version please do cuz I couldn't find one)
-
Yeah i'm still looking for one to. Maybe tomorrow
-
Lana is that girl everyone thought was uncorrupted Cia.
-
so Agitha will basically be Tommyrod, right? belching out swarms of bugs, flying centipedes, stag beetles with razor-sharp jaws, etc?
because that's what I'm picturing and I like it a lot.

Well, bug lady has a better moveset potential than another swordswoman.
-
I'm really not that annoyed that Agitha got in.
Baffeled? Yes!
But Link, Zelda, and Impa are all sword users, I'd like to see some more weapon variety. -
Zelda is just going to eat this thread alive, isn't it?
Never mind that Gundam Musou Reborn comes out next week.
-
Hey be happy that this thread's been as active as it's been since hyrule warriors was announced and info on it's roster has been trickling out.
That being said though hopefully my PS3 comes back from wherever it's at soon so I can get Gundam Musou 4.

Wonderful. Guess that means we'll be seeing this thread talk about Gundam Musou Reborn in about three months or so

Got a slew of new images for hyrule warriors straight from the gaf (let me know if the images dont work later)[hide]

DLC costumes:

Man, Majora's Mask was working way too hard to pull down the moon. Why use the manifestation of the worst parts of the dark magic of a lost tribe when a hook shot can do the trick just as easily if not more so.
-
Twilight princess sure gets a lot of love in this game. It's cool but I'd like to see some stuff from other Zelda games soon.
-
That Majora's Mask Moon is…. horrifying.... somehow moreso than in the original game...
I need somebody to hold me.

well it's in HD graphics so you can see the details of the horror in it's eyes
-
Why does this Twilight Princess stuff look so good? It can't just be the HD can it?
-
Because Twilight Princess is awesome? I mean, I liked it, especially since I replayed it earlier this month.
-
The character design and in general the art style in TP was really top notch, and pretty much it's hard to get away from some of the creative decisions for certain characters because it's defined a lot of looks. It's probably part of the reason why SS Link is a bit more of a brighter, cel-shaded version of TP Link.
On the other hand I kinda don't really want to go back to it, or at least too often, in future Zelda games because of how serious and brooding it felt at times.

Lana gameplay vid:

Did she just weaponize the act of pushing puzzle blocks?

You mean the puzzle blocks normally aren't trying to kill me normally?
Anyway, this may have ended up being brought up before, but if we have a Lana whose naming scheme is similar to "Wizzro" and "Volga", could we potentially expect two other characters named after terms such as, say, Eldin and Faron? (not referring to the dragons and their color schemes in skyward sword of course)
-
I don't really see how a common name like Lana is similar to Wizzro and Volga.
Mind you the Twilight Princess fanservice is strong in this game so if I'd say that Eldin and Faron have a decent chance of appearing in some way or another. -

I see Lana being similar to Nayru from Oracle of Ages, a character that is a reference to one of the three goddesses. So I expect we'll see a red haired and a green haired girl as well, based on Din and Farore.

New Agitha Introduction Trailer

So. I'm enjoying Gundam Musou Reborn. Currently trying to unlock most of my favorites from old games before slogging for forever… especially since the pilots actually make a real difference in the play this time and will combo interestingly with certain mechs. Totally want to get Soichie. Even though she has terrible stats I totally love Turn A's cast... which gets horribly shafted in the Musou franchise.
....
yeah yeah, keep talking about your Zelda.

Im really tempted to get it right now, but i think ill hold off for a bit since ill be busy with unlimited world red for the time being. Sounds much better then 3 though, and tell me the stage design is better? because it was horrendous in 3, (glad they brought back the space battles though).
-
The stage design is much closer to 2… I don't know yet how much repetition there is, but yeah, having space battles makes a big difference in feeling like your covering a lot of ground and a need for the faster mechs.
