Can someone explain the "Free Log Before/After Battle: Events or No Events" option to me?
One Piece: Kaizoku Musou 2 (PS3 and PSVita)

Those are the intro and outro videos the characters do. Turning it off will give you one less button to push after you've seen the same outro a million times

So it's out already, huh? Great. Now bring on One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3!!

Not a good way to get OP games out there for kids but whatever….I wonder if the first Pirate Warrior will ever go down in price? Some more bad marketing there.

The first one had that? I heard that it had a price cut some months after it was localized to regions outside Japan but I didn't hear about anything like this. Can you tell me where you got that game?
-
got the vita version
-
I suddenly have this game! I've play up to chapter two so far. Haven't gotten a chance to try everyone. It feels like the character have less moves, hopefully unlocking move levels changes that. I've mostly been playing as Luffy. I tried a level as Smoker…he seems like a potentially good main. I'm hoping Chopper and Jimbei are better then they were in the last game--I'm impatient about getting all the characters.
I'm enjoying how stupid this story mode is. I know it's a dream story, but I get a huge laugh seeing certain characters appear where they aren't supposed to be post time skip.

On the US PSN, it was 32.5 dollars for the package but I got it wrong because it was a $25 game with $7.5 DLC not a bundle
-
^thanks for telling me. Could you also tell me when you got it? I dropped $50 for the first game (really regretted it) and want to estimate the approximate time I would have to wait for the second game to have a similar price drop, if it will have one.
-
Guys, i've got the Japan Version…do you think i can play online with ppl with the EU Version of the game?
-
Waiting until after the IGN free game giveaway before I buy mine. I know my chances are low but I'm dirt poor anyway!
-

No. They're technically different games.
-
Uughhhhh! It won't be available here until the end of the month!!! So much WAITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I've been playing this pretty hardcore the last couple of days and I have to say, it's probably the most fun I've had with a One Piece game. Definitely worth checking out!
-
Digging the new game.
No more bullshit platforming and straight to eliminating crowds of enemies.
Standout characters so far for me would be Nami and Mihawk. Nami's clouds+lightning while in her style mode can just juggle mobs and melt bosses.

You're right. Variety in video games is a horrible idea. It should just be the same thing over and over with about ten moves to use. Brilliant.
What pisses me off as much as the horrible gameplay is that we get to see Punk Hazard, but no Caesar, Vergo, Monet, or even Hody.

Horrible gameplay? Man, get right out, I may think there's alot about these games that needs improving upon, but calling it horrible? Especially when people are clearly finding it fun? They captured the characters personalities really well, and with the movesets it's fun as hell tearing through enemies. And 10 moves to use? What, did you quit on the first level? I happen to enjoy Dynasty warriors, quite a bit as well, in fact many people do, but the movesets here go alot deeper than in those games.
Variety? Yeah, it could use a bit of that, more types of enemies, more variations of stages, more unique stuff, all around, but people hated all of the first games platforming bits, so they took that out. That's not to say they won't improve things in the next title. And you clearly aren't aware of the musou formula. They leave some characters out (Nevermind that this game probably was being made in the middle of fishman island - the beginning of Punk Hazard) To bring them in later games. Sure it sucks, but they make improvements most of the time on each iteration.
This just isn't your cup of tea, I get that, but that's no reason to outright dismiss and trash it when it IS a fun game. :/

Yeah the entire thing about the platforming gameplay was:
- It was bad
- It gated content because Luffy was the only playable character in those levels, and it wasn't versatile in a way that any character could have used it, giving you options
- It was bad
- It diverted from the meat of the gameplay and progression system, which is to let you pound fools and level up, unlocking new moves, therefore it was nothing more than a chore to be completed so you could continue doing what you're supposed to do
- IT WAS REALLY BAD DUDE, REALLY BAD

Platforming being worse doesn't make the fighting any better. There aren't many combos, so I end up just using the same attacks over and over every time I played. At least the bad platforming broke up the bad fighting. It was easier to play the game for longer with the variety. The fighting mechanics aren't fun.
I understand not including Caesar, but they could've had Hody.
-
Have you ever played a Dynasty Warriors game? This game has many more comboes and dash cancels. Plus the characters are actually quite different from eachother. Variety. "bad fighting" is what many bought the game for, besides it being a One Piece game. Dynasty Warriors games are meant for beating large groups of enemies and capturing bases. It isn't necessarily the game itself that you don't like. It is the genre of game.

FINALLY got my copy on Sunday. I've been waiting for a year and a half, and I'm not disappointed in the slightest. It's one of the best games I've ever played. Each character feels different when you play. As I was hoping from the trailers, the Dream Story really is interesting (I'm currently just after beating Ch. 3 Ep. 3 - Crocodile vs Robin) and investing. Though if I had one complaint, there kinda are too many characters in the party, and as such pretty much all of them have been shafted aside at one point or another.
EDIT: I've finished the game. Definitely one of my favorite ever. The story was excellent (the True Ending blew me away). Law, Whitebeard, Smoker, Aokiji, and Garp are my favorite characters. But, except for Yami - Yami only Blackbeard, Hancock (both of whom were only ok), Perona, and Robin (the latter two are just bad) all the characters were great fun to play as.
But, I have to ask; why was Aokiji on the cover? Except for the end of 1 - 1 and 2 - 1 he wasn't important except for a small role in Final - 2 (gotta say though I love him and Akainu's part in the last cutscene. In fact that whole cutscene was golden). Plus, I had a few problems with the WB dies/BB get's the Gura-Gura no Mi ending:
- After the big cutscene at the end of 4-2 normal path, Moria should have stayed down. It was really bad him being in 4 - 3. It took away the impact of the Luffy vs Shadow Asgard cutscene. If he had to be in it, then it should only have been as a Frenzy Dial victim with Enel before BB.
- They half-assed the ending. Way too many questions are left about the WB pirates.
-
So I was planning to wait until the 3rd installment to play this series, but a friend lent me the game, and it has surpassed all my expectations. It has been a while since I had so much fun playing a game, what I like the most is how well recreated all the attacks and scenarios are, and how different all the characters feel, it gives the vibe of the manga perfectly. The Action/Haki bar is a great feature, they have to stick with it.
I'm getting excited just by thinking on what the next one will add :]
-
Man, I hope they let us play as Doffy in KM3.
-
^add DC to that (and maybe Vergo) and we're good to go.
-
Playable Chinjao would be beyond orgasmic, but it's only a dream :[

Just so people know, it's only $12.50 if you have Playstation Plus, while it's $25 if you don't.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is Kaizoku Musou 2 available for digital purchase on PS4 or is it only available for the PS3 digital download?

Me too, now Im waiting for a sale on the DLC
-
Did this go completely under the radar? It's an updated version of the first Pirate Warriors which includes all the downloadable content at a low price, released on the 6th December 2013.
-
Is there not going to be a third installment announced soon? The more advanced Dressrosa is on the anime when it is, the better, though.

I don't think we'll be getting KM 3 anytime soon due to all the focus being on Project Versus. Maybe at the end of 2014 or early 2015.

KM 3 better be for ps4

KM 3 better be for ps4
KM3 better have all the characters playable, not just have them in the game to annoy you with their incomplete move sets. Also a revamped story mode that sticks to the manga would be best. DW8 style story mode with Straw Hat, World Government/Marines and other logs would be awesome.

I prefer having an original story
Given their track record (Koei's at least), the original stories/scenarios they come up with are cheesy and stupid. Hell, in KM2, they just copied and pasted events from the manga and put them in their "original" story. I would support an original story only if it were a side log or something, rather than the main plot OR if the story itself was completely original, like introducing new, playable original characters with completely new interactions/scenarios and not relying on already established character relationships/interactions we already know.
