@Hinscher:
It's not about one persons it's about the general forum. There are two times the forum is super busy.
Okay. As long as you recognize that someone can want a female to join for reasons other than hormones, which you do.
@Hinscher:
There are others I could like like Marguerite, or Kalifa. Heck even some marines are up for bid.
I liked Marguerite as well. She had a naivete that would prove amusing. Shame she was overshadowed by Hancock.
@Hinscher:
When it comes to girls the term "shoot first ask questions later" applies very well. They just need to be introduced to be perfect strawhat material. A female has to do a lot in order to become someone that doesn't fit the crew. meanwhile a man has to earn a spot on the crew.
Pretty accurate. Of course, there is a difference between thinking a character would be a great fit (which you can't really blame anyone for) and actually expecting them to join (which none of listed women were ever likely to do). An interesting exception to the gender trend is Momonosuke, who people were pushing for before he was even introduced.
@Hinscher:
You talk about a happy medium in One Piece. It does have that good medium ground where there isn't too much ecchi moments. That is solely due to having a small number of females. The females in this series have plenty of ecchi moments and fan-service centric things happen or skimpy clothing. You guys like how One Piece isn't Fairy Tail, yet at same time your clammoring for more females. IMO I find that funny. Since as I said a female upon first sight is instantly nakama material, what are you basing that "want" on other than the fact that she is a female?
I wouldn't say it's solely numbers that keep the ecchi down. Oda could just stand to write less sexually. It's been a lot worse lately than, say, back in Jaya when we first had two girls around.
@Hinscher:
And what makes being a female so much better or different nakama material than a new male? I have to conclude that it is because she has boobs.
Variety? Boobs are great and all, but I'd say variety is the biggest factor. I mean, if you were presented with a character that was going to join the crew and got to pick the gender but keep everything else the same, why would you pick to have an eighth guy instead of a third girl?
desa's right though. We shouldn't be discussing this here. I'll stop for now. If you want to continue in the crewmate thread, we can. I don't care either way.
