@Nobodyman:
Say what?
But that's what I'm saying. We fans invested all that money to support the show (and yes, enjoy it for ourselves) and then Funimation comes back two years later and says, "Hey guys, thanks for all your support. Now we're re-releasing the show on a new set of DVDs that have twice the content for a third of the price!"
On Amazon, the Collections go for about $20-$25 and the initial releases go for about $30-35. So really, we're paying triple for the same amount of episodes. As far as I'm concerned, that's a really unfair tradeoff for "getting it early".
I wouldn't mind if they charged, say, $40-$50 for the collection sets (which is what anyone else would do), but if us "loyal fans" had just waited 2 years we could have saved $320 overall (money we could use to buy a PS3 or an iPhone or just…anything).
Eh. I know but, what are you going to do? They know we love one piece, so they know we won't let it fail, and that we would buy the voyages at any cost. I do agree,people should be given extra incentive to buy the voyages, besides the ever looming fear of the series being dropped
And honestly what kind of extras are you hoping for anyway?
Edit: what maron is mentioning is the fact that the Japanese have to pay 5 times the account we do, for about 2 or 3 episodes on a disc.
