We Need a New Moderator!

Hi everyone,

I'm making this thread because the Collectibles forum deserves a new, active mod.

Sadly, sensui will likely stop coming around soon, and I haven't posted here in quite a while, even though I've been checking in here and there and you should all feel free to PM me with any issues you may have.

In essence, this is a nominations/volunteer thread. We want to hear who wants to do it, who you think would be good, etc.

Please don't nominate someone unless they express interest, and please don't express interest unless you are pretty active both here and on the collectibles scene.

For now that's all I have, no special format, I want to hear what the community has to say. Thanks!

The biggest trooper is Leviathan in terms of activity and constantly updating the links page, solely for the benefit of other people. If he's interested, I'd suggest taking that into account …

Too bad sensui leaves, he put a lot of effort into keeping the threads clean and did a good job. Too bad retarded people didn't appreciate that. I expect the very the same from the new mod.

Alina has been here for a very long time and already has a moderator attitude, she is not soft and has proven to be very thick-skinned (hopefully allowing her to moderate for a long time). I think she is the ideal choice.

There's 4 or 5 people on the forum who spend so much time here they'd be good mods, but for like Maggie you'd need her to actually say she wants to do it before voting for her

neither does commenting on other people's opinion. Posting links is one of the varies ways of contributing to the forum as well, as far as i'm concerned. levithian has my vote if he's willing to take on the responsibility.

Personally, I really feel we need more than one moderator. I would do it if say, there were 3 of us. I think it will be too much for one person alone. Not that our forum is that big, but (people have lives)… it would also help that everyone would not be directing any anger at just one person if posts were switched around and whatnot. Strength in teamwork and anonymity. Plus if there was a big dispute on the forum or a scammer, 3 people could talk together and come to a good conclusion on what to do or how to approach it. A good unity. Also, do we expect one person to be available 24/7? There are people from all over the world and every time zone posting here! And 3 would also allow for the other two to step up more if one person suddenly falls ill, works more, etc.

I do feel that APF would not give us 3 mods, though.

I think sensui was the perfect choice before, and I still stand by that. But I don't blame him for stepping down with the current climate around here. People basically ran him out of mod-ship.

What happened to everyone just getting along? Sensui became mod FOR THE COMMUNITY. And they shit all over him. I think the problem isn't the mod, it's the people. Not that I don't like everyone here, I just think we need a kumbaya moment or something.

There's no drama really, I just don't really feel like working my ass out with updating the releases table, news and all that for people who indirectly call me an ass for not liking figures they like, basically.
I just burned the last bridge by saying that, I guess.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I am really flattered and glad.
I am afraid, however, I could not possibly do this job alone. Not only I don't have time and energy to do it properly, but I am also certain I don't have what it takes to face the drama that would ensue.

But maybe we are all losing focus of what is at stake here.
This is no popularity contest. The job that is offered, isn't that of a sherif, a boss, but mostly that of a maid.

In the end, I wouldn't mind doing it but only if I wasn't the only one.

Before things get heated up or things are getting personal I would suggest anomynous voting : Like sending pm's to a neutral person with 2-3 votes in it and 2-3 persons with the most votes get the job I guess

Also it will prevent things to turn into a popularity contest

If you mean the global mods and admin : I wouldn't count on that for a few reasons , the most importants are that some here don't post outside of this subforum and that the mods not always visit this place so they might not know many

we need to figure out a process by where we can vote, a poll was suggested? Why don't we try that. And if the selected one's don't want to do it, or would rather share the responsibility then that should also be a possibility.
