One Piece 705: Maynard "The Pursuer"

Could anyone from the spoiler thread tell me the probability of a new chapter today (European GMT), i.e. wether or not there's been collected all possible information regarding the chapter?
-
No chapter today, since there's no raw. Just some short and heavily summarized spoilers.
Expect the chapter tomorrow, as usual.
Anything earlier would be a huge surprise.
It's gonna be hard to resist spoilers this time…
-
I've said it before and I say it again, ''if you read spoilers you are weak''! Its painful yes but you need to be strong.
-
I read the spoilers…..Damn proud of it too!
-
-
Spoilers only make you stronger.
-
NO! Death is just one of many consequences. what lead to the consequences is far more important.
why? because lack of death in one piece?
bullshit!! sense of danger does not only come from death.. since when danger only applied for death? grow up dude..YES! You aren't making any sense. Your first part of the quote doesn't change anything, it's as if you read something you didn't like and responded without thinking of something relevant to say. At the end of the day it doesn't that it is one of the strongest emotions in any media of storytelling and usually one of the most memorable moment as well when it does happen. Obviously Oda has explored other elements and very well as well, I responded to the guy that said it wouldn't make it better, and I can't see why not.
OP has no sense of danger for me, maybe you see it differently but the plethora of movies and tv series on top of a couple animes that I have seen here and there, I have lost that feeling long ago. Maybe it's different from you, but this aspect was lost long ago and characters coming back like Bellamy just give reassurance.
So chapter is out tomorrow then? Someone gave me false hope in here, I thought it would come today. Hopefully they focus entirely on Luffy's story, or mostly on his and a little bit elsewhere (Law's group maybe?).
-
So, if the chapter's not coming out today, what's the reason for the early spoilers?
I'm sure this has been answered in the spoiler thread, but I'm not going in there. Spoilers make the actual chapter less enjoyable for me (and in the past I always just happened to read spoilers where the chapter had some kind of big reveal).

My interpretation is that it's a just a lucky fluke.

Is it just me, or is everyone's "What's New?" tab disabled?
-
What's the point of spoilers? It's like reading the end of a book before actually reading it. Where's the thrill of reading it if you already know what's going to happen?
It's all about the journey, not the destination.

Searching is completely disabled for some reason.
I got spoiled on another site… [hide][/hide]But thankfully only the "main things".

I haven't read the spoilers for 2 years

So then you're saying it's not a big deal to find out what happens.

Sory about stepping in the discussion, I just want to add that for me, Only the Game of Thrones book series (By George R. R. Martin) does have this sense of danger. Literaly anyone can die on next page and you'd never see that coming. Martin is a Monster in writing skills.

I don't want to look at the spoilers for chapter 706 but I saw that they were already posted this morning.
When can we expect the chapter to be out?? -
I don't want to look at the spoilers for chapter 706 but I saw that they were already posted this morning.
When can we expect the chapter to be out??Same time as it always is. We got spoilers early, but the RAW won't be out until sometime tomorrow.

From what I read, there is no raw. But they got some spoilers from someone else than T (who -along with his wife- they usually get spoilers from). This other guy is someone Redon & CCC trust (unlike he who must not be named), used to do spoilers a few years ago and posts same place as T, it seems.
-
Oh, okay then.
Thanks for the info!
I might go look at the spoilers after all…. dunno if I can resist >___> -

With this logic then why you reading manga and you don't just watch the anime?

Because the anime sucks lol, I'll give him that!

Spoilers aren't bad, though. Some say they might even enhance one's experience and enjoyment.

For the same reason I read books. Dude, the point is that if you read the spoiler then the experience wont be as rich. If you know what's going to happen beforehand than why bother reading at all? Where is the surprise? The tension?
If you already knew what was going to happen in this tournament arc would you feel the same when reading a new chapter? Or would you just read it like "oh so thats what happened".
-

A story only as good as surprise or tension isn't a very good story. There's much much more to stories (well some of them) than the unknown.

Nem a pau! What if you go watch Scary Movie already knowing who is the killer? -terrible analogy but you guys get the point.

I agree, but i still like having those things. I'm not saying it will ruin the manga/movie/book but, for me, it won't be as good.

For me the spoilers are like the short sum on the back of the book

What I took from this post is that you just randomly pick up a book and begin reading - ignoring the brief plot summary at the front/back that is usually given.
That's basically what a spoiler is unless you're also reading the full chapter summary Aohige gives.

The only time I'm ever surprised by a story is the first time I'm reading it - every other subsequent I read it again, I enjoy it for entirely different reasons. I don't think I'd be incorrect to assume that a lot of fans reread parts or all of One Piece every now and then and it's definitely not for the surprise. Simply knowing what happens isn't enough. There's a difference between knowing something and experiencing it. I know that Luffy beat Crocodile in Alabasta, but there's an entirely different feeling in turning the pages and watching it happen than in mentally recounting how cool it was to see him use Gum-Gum Storm for the first time or what have you.
It's the same with spoilers. I may know what happens in the next chapter, but with One Piece, it hardly matters. Oda's art is so, so rich and detailed that simply looking at it and seeing the story play out is a much more fulfilling experience than finding out "what happens". I mean, not everyone thinks that way, and that's cool, but honest-to-god, I always find rereads to be a much more rewarding experience than my first time through, whether it's a manga, book, or even a TV Show or movie.
-

Not the same thing. No wonder there is a completely separate section for those, so ppl who don't like spoilers don't need to unwillingly read them.
Just to get things clear, is not that spoilers are bad/good, I just don't like them. I would rather spend 6 chapters wandering who will get the mera² or who will be the next nakamate than just wait for it to happen. It will be a surprise (or not) but still will have a lot more impact if I already knew.

Spoilers that are just like those on the back of a book are just a guide. Imagine picking up the first GoT book already knowing the fate of Edd Stark? Knowing the plot is one thing (war, war everywhere), but knowing Joffrey would become the Bitch Queen from the get-go would lessen it's impact.

I would actually be interested in a series about sentient giant robots that have to save the world and stuff…Then I remembered that Transformers is basically the same thing...
I hope we some Transformers in One Piece: like a vehicle with a Zoan fruit

I kinda doubt that. The real enjoyment in reading the ASOIAF series is soaking in the details, the foreshadowing, and all of the hidden things. The scenes are still incredibly well-written, enough so that even knowing what happens, they still have an impact. Again, in general, I don't really think that knowing the specific details lessens my enjoyment now, so why would it lessen my enjoyment when I first read them?
-
Last time I was spoiled about anything was Ace's death. Before that, it was Blackbeard showing up in Impel Down. Haven't actively tried to read a spoiler since Thriller Bark and I like to keep it that way.

Lol Ned's fate was pretty easy to predict. Now the Red Wedding on the other hand…spoilers would have killed that.

And so we reach the end of our discussion. There will be those who don't like spoilers and those that don't care. Just like my PS3 is better than your Xbox. ;)

can somebody ban me from the spoiler section?cause its just too much of a temptation

To me it was the other way around. The Red Wedding was so obvious to me but Ned's fate… Though I knew there would be a war after that.

Hah, yes but you have picked one extreme and paired it with the other. ;) GoT is probably the best example of it being done the most, my point was that OP has no sense of danger (for me anyways), instead of a little bit or a good amount like other shows, movies or animes. I was moreso responding to death not helping stories esp like One Piece be even more memorable. :S
Guys, stop talking about whatever wedding is in Game Of Thrones, I haven't read the books…
