Damn, this is getting really tough for Tamakoma 2! Amazing action though! :D

! The only way Kuga could win would be for the other three to somehow take themselves out and he either surviving just like that or killing the remaining one. But that won't work because Asuma has him as main target due his grasshopper, Ninomiya wants to prove that Tamakoma 2 isn't ready yet and Kageura is brimming with battle lust to fight Yuuma. In other words it is more 3 vs 1 than 1 vs 1 vs 1 vs 1. Maybe just maybe Ninomiya starts shooting hoping to hit bothattacers, Yuuma avoids to be hit, Kage bails out, Asuma sees a chance and kills Ninomiya before he can create two shields to protect himself and Yuuma rushed to Asuma, beheading him. BAM! Tamakoma 2 won, only due luck and Kuga being a badass!
But honestly, that hardly seems possible to happen. More likely Yuuma will be the first of the 4 to get killed next chapter but he puts up a brave fight and maybe somehow manages to get a 2nd point before bailing out.

oh man, what a chapter. the herd got thinned so quick. now its basically all the aces of every squad surviving with kuga the only injured one. i can see kuga being the first to go, but with kaguera and ninomiya and kuga, asuma is gonna take whichever is the easier point and i think that may save kuga.

and while nino doesn't necessarily like tamakoma i think he'll go for what he thinks is an easier fight too, so the sniper for 1 or the attackers for 2… kaguera has his side effect so its hard to sneak up on him. cant wait for next week. this match is really exciting.

I love how the action flowed in this chapter, Asuma attempting to snipe Zoe just flowed into a cascade of events. Each new battle in this B rank arc becomes m favourite.

Early spoilers are out. Take them with a grain of salt, although they sound like what Ashihara would write. Kudos to p-kun from MAL as always:

! - Nino decides to attack the 2 attackers instead of Azuma (as expected he's greedy).

• Kageura feels it. Yuuma gets warning from Shiori.
• Nino spams hound, Yuuma has problem defending against so many.
• Yuuma decides to snip out Nino, approaching him with double grasshopper. But that's just what Nino wants. Kako says that Nino uses hound when he wants his enemy to approach him.
• Nino hits Yuuma with asteroid.
• Despite his body cracking, Yuuma still tries to take out Nino using zigzagged scorpion (isn't this Kage's style extended scorpion?)
• Kage is surprised
• Yuuma's attack doesn't manage to reach Nino before Yuuma BO.
• Then Nino and Kageura simply wait for time out rather than risking getting out in the open and get sniped.
• Final score: Nino 3, Kageura 2, Azuma 2, Yuuma 1. Nino's victory
• T-2 drops to B-8, while B-1, B-2, and B-7 stay

• Jin happily asks Hyuse if he wants his trigger back
• Jin's lack of disappointment pisses off Hyuse

• Yuuma apologizes for getting only 1 point and praises Chika for moving forward (by shooting). Doesn't seem to help Chika out of her depression.

! Commentators

• Kazama says that aces all scored. The other members basically died in the order of rank, meaning from weakest to strongest (I'm not sure about this sentence)
• Ayatsuji asks if Osamu made a mistake by getting killed first
• Kazama says it doesn't matter. He praises Osamu's training and growth, BUT other people also train and grow. Merely working as hard as other people won't help getting ahead. FURTHERMORE, from the start, relying on uncertain things like "growth", means that as a captain he already fails (I think Kazama means that Osamu should have made a strategy that works even if he's weak, rather than relying on his growth).

! Arashiyama war room

• Arashiyama says that Kazama is really harsh against Osamu
• Kitora says that that's because Kazama is fond of Osamu (just like how Tachikawa is really harsh against Murakami)

! Tamakoma HQ

• T-2 returns to have Youtarou still crying. Yuuma cheers Youtarou (I guess the other 2 are not in the mood).
• Hyuse is eating taiyaki
• Osamu is gloomy

! Comments:

• Those who wanted Yuuma to lose… well you get your wish, congrats! He doesn't even manage to get 2 points.
• The more Yuuma apologizes to the other 2, the more depressed they are. Yuuma should be selfish once in a while and get angry, really, it might actually help the 2 to be less depressed.
• Yep, Kazama is definitely disappointed that Osamu is relying on his "growth" rather than his smarts.

It really depends.
Though Yuuma as main target makes sense. For Azuma as he is the only one who could get quickly to him to kill him. For Kage because he WANTS to fight Yuuma. And for Nino as similar reasoning as Azuma plus to proof a point that Tamakoma 2 isn't ready yet for A rank or the neighborhood expedition.

I liked how only the Aces made points. Really showed how strong Aces are and that you really need plans against them else they wipe the floor with you which explains why in the mid tier fights the other teams concentrated so much on Yuuma.

Kuga will probably lose, but I think he'll die by Kitazoe to be honest. I think he'll stalemate his current opponent and Zoe will take that chance, as will Asuma.

Doesn't this mean they can't go A-rank now? I mean, they have to be in the Top2 of B-rank and this match has shown that Ninomiya squad and Kageura squad are A-rank and therefore a world above Mikumo squad.
In this saga there is absolutely no way in which Mikumo squad can defeat either of them.
Due to the loss of points, Mikumo may have slipped from B-6 to B-8 into the lower group.

I really believe that there will be another fight for Mikumo squad though and I'm not confident they'll win either. Mikumo squad has 1 member with A-rank abilities being Kuga. Ninomiya/Kage had all members at A-rank.

Looks interesting. The white floating trion soldier reminds me of Replica so maybe this arc will be about the Troipoi nation from which Replica is from? Also looks like this arc will feature an errant nation world which runs around freely in the neighborhood. WT is actually pretty great for anime only arcs due its many and most importantly disconnected worlds. This world for example could very well never ever meet Meeden again after this arc and in the WT world setting it would make perfect sense. Does it say how many episodes it gonna have? 12 or 24?

I read somewhere that there are only 2 matches left, dunno if true. But if it is true then Tamakoma 2 literally has no chance to get to the top two ranks expect they get like 6-8 points in the next coming matches. Which they can never get the way they are, so it makes sense Osamu asks for Jin's help as only Jin and Yuuma could make this impossible mission possible.

I also believe there will be another fight, one where they will meet the former Top tier B team which was replaced by Tamakoma 2 and then by Suzunari-1. As well as another or two other B teams which they had fought previously. I could imagine them to be Suwa/Arafune and Nasu. This would be a rematch I'd like to watch as those teams will view Tamakoma 2 differently now than before their first match against them. It could very well end with them getting beaten again or losing with enough kill points to not drop any further.

Tamakoma 2 was totally crushed and then the three strongest agents left on the field–- did nothing and waited for the time to run out! Damn! How often did you had a shounen battle where three superstrong fighters just stood around and made snowmen because nobody wanted to "die" and give away a point? XD
After such a loss it makes sense that Osamu asks for Jin's aid, if he wants Chika to help the team needs stronger and more experienced fighters than he is. However, that also means it will hinder his and Chika's growth as they are totally underpowered in the top tier ranks. They won't learn much fighting too strong opponents.

I wonder if Jin really planned or even had the power to give the trigger back to Hyuse. This trigger is an elite made one which Border probably tries to take apart, research and then use for themselves. Plus the way he kept talking about Hyuse's trigger makes me think that he wanted to get a certain reaction from Hyuse to NOT ask for his weapon as Hyuse would think that Jin who can look into the future WANTS him to have his weapon back or that this could be a trap laid by Border. I could see Hyuse instead asking Jin to not help Tamakoma 2 as Hyuse knows he cares a lot about them.

I saw this coming. Remember how in the anime when Replica was mentioning other nations, they anime added on an extra 2 or so to make the world-trigger-verse seem even bigger.

Really? it showed other worlds? I only remember the marine nation, the trion horse nation and the ice nation besides the holy land Aftokrator. Which other nations did the anime show back then?

I'd rather like to see Hyuse fighting alongside Tamakoma 2 with guns or as a shooter which compared to his elite trigger from his homeland would give him enough of a weaker level so that even with him the Top B teams would still be a challenge, but not unbeatable anymore like in the last game.

Suzunari made it into Position 6, they exchanged positions with Tamakoma 2. Looks Like Taichi can look into the future. Remember how he said that his team will rise and Tamakoma2 should just drop in the next one? XD

I think Tamakoma 2 next opponents will be Nasu, Arafune and the former B7 top team which was called Ouji I think?

• Recap of last week, Osamu asks Jin to join T-2.
• After thinking for a while, Jin decides to asks Glasses-kun, why asking him all of a sudden. To ask this capable elite to join T-2 …. is quite a cheat move.
• Osamu is prepared to answer this. He has checked the rules.

! Flashback

• Usami tells Osamu that having 4 men per team is OK. Adding/removing teammates during the rank wars season is also allowed. But adding a new member screws with teamwork at the beginning, making the team to be easy points for enemies, so it's not commonly done mid season. But due to various reasons, removing/adding teammates mid-season happens sometimes.

• Osamu says that Jin is now a free official agent. Inviting Jin is not against the rules. Because of Jin's SE, there's no point in beating around the bush, so Osamu straightforwardly asked Jin this favor.

If the next neighborhood expedition will be decided ASAP, then there are only a few matches left. If the point differences expand further, then it will be impossible to climb up to A rank by the time of the selection.
• Jin disagrees. T-2 is a rookie team that has just debuted. There's no need to push oneself that far. To begin with, it's almost unheard of a team that reaches A rank right after its formation. While T-2 got defeated today for sure, Jin can feel that Glasses-kun's training and growth is just beginning and Chika-chan took a step forward. Even if T-2 does not get selected in this season, there will be another chance. Just do it slowly and steadily.
• Osamu admits that Karasuma-sempai also told him that if your actual ability cannot keep up, there's no meaning in being selected to the expedition.
• Jin agrees with Karasuma, adding that there's no need to rush.
• Osamu strongly disagrees. Kuga has no "time". Osamu adds that Jin-san should have heard from Kuga that his body is a temporary one made of BT and that he's slowly dying. • Jin tells him to stop blaming himself for Replica-sensei's situation. It's not his fault.
• Osamu disagrees. Kuga said the same thing... but Replica is gone because it saved us (as in Osamu/Chika).
• Jin firmly disagrees. It's not Osamu's fault. It's HIS fault. As Osamu knows, Jin has precog SE. During the invasion, Jin saw a couple of futures. In short, when Jin knew that the invaders' goal was to capture agents, he could have had Chika run far away. But he didn't because if the enemies flocked to Chika-chan, there was possibility that the damages in the other areas would be reduced. Ex post, Jin's strategy worked well, but Glasses-kun almost died and replica-sensei was gone. That's why it's more or less Jin's fault.
• Osamu realizes why his mom told him that Jin kept on apologizing to her and Chika.
• Jin apologizes again, Osamu feels uncomfortable and tells him not to.
• Jin insists that he owes a lot to Glasses-kun and Chika-chan, also Replica-sensei and Yuuma. Even though it's impossible now, in the future, if Glasses-kun has problems like that (uh, this one is very vague about what Jin means about "that kind" of problems), he'll be sure to help. He promises.
• Regarding the issue of adding T-2 combat power, Jin adds that if T-2 wants a new member, there's someone else more compatible. It's a delicate matter to get this person joins, so Jin does not want to elaborate.
• Jin continues that understanding one's weakness, and thinking of various means without regards of one's appearance is Glasses-kun's good aspect. So this time, think and search.
• Before Jin leaves, Osamu tells him that while he almost died, Jin has saved him many more times... Osamu doesn't think that Jin owes him anything.
• This seems to make Jin happy, and he says, "...I thought you'll say that"

• Osamu tells Yuuma and Chika that even though they lost yesterday, there's still a way to reach A-rank. Because Chika BO, Kuga got 1 point, and the TO, T-2 lost without suffering from big point differences. Looking at the records from top B-rank, against Ninomiya and Kageura teams, other teams often employ TO strategy or running away (and Bail Out/Ring Out on purpose) strategy. It's a testament to their power, but this is convenient for T-2. This means that while the top teams are busy fighting low scoring matches, T-2 can steadily close the gap. Let's do that one match at a time!

Wow, that would actually make a lot of sense. Naturally, someone like Jin can't be joining, that would be an overkill. But the neighbor seems to be an ideal choice, considering the similarities in his and Mikumo's thinking. That would be a good shortcut to fitting in with the team.

This seems like where the author is going but the neighbor guy isn't loyal to border or tamakoma and nobody in border would trust him. You saw how they were suspicious of kuga now this new guy who actually attacked them will be trusted and sent on an away mission possibly? Seems far fetched.

I guess they could use his strength to rise to A-rank but not take him on the away mission, but that seems dumb for this story because as a 3-man team they are exceedingly weak and would die over there.

I'm looking forward to seeing where the author takes this.

A bunch of A-rank characters have already reminded Osamu that there is no point going on the expedition if you are a weakling.
I honestly feel like Mikumo unit won't make it to A-rank and even to make it to A-rank… Don't they have to challenge a random team from A-rank?
I can't see any unit in A-rank losing to a team with Mikumo/Chika honestly. They are 2 extremely easy points.

Isn't Hyuse like freaking 22?? Isn't he too old to be on the same team as a bunch of Middle Schoolers?

Glad that Tamakoma lost this round, but I will admit that I was kind of disappointed by the ending of the battle. Not saying this will allow a whole team to be selected but its leverage that helps them as a whole.

• Against 2 or 3 teams in the middle group. For example against Katori squad (former B-7) and Urushima squad (former B-9) that we've yet to meet
• Against 2 or 3 teams in the top group besides Ninomiya and Kageura's squads. I really want to see Ikoma, Yuba and Oji's squad before the arc ends
• A final match against Ninomiya and Kageura

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the new anime and how long this filler arc will be.
Also waiting for more updates to the Android game. With so many likeable characters, I can see that game having a really long life.

Enodora will be the key to Hyuse entering Tamakoma 2, I'd say. For one, he is most likely to reveal the reasoning behind him getting murdered by Moira and Hyrein leaving behind Hyuse in enemy's land. Also Hyuse meeting Enodorad (hehe) could lead to him rethinking his positioning, like him really needing to return home as soon as possible to maybe save somebody from his family to not become World trigger sacrifice. This could lean to him agreeing to become a partner of Border even if it goes against his honor codex.

I hope Yuuma gonna have some talk with Enodora soon, I wanna learn more about Aftokrator, its world, its society and its history and its politics and all that stuff! <3

Now that Hyuse is in his real body and is vulnerable, Mira may have done what she did to Enedora to him. And Jin's plans for Hyuse go down the drain. Mira probably would not have tried to take down Hyuse in his Trion body because her Trigger is not combat-oriented and it would not work out. Plus Hyuse could serve a useful role before they abandoned him.

Looks like 48th, the last episode, gonna be anime original? Seems like it at least. Given that on 4th octobre we are supposed to get the second season of WT I wonder if this episode will somehow end in a way that leads/hints towards the beginning of season? In that case though they must have planned this a whole year ago or even longer, like right at the start of season 1.

• Because the timing of this is close to the invasion, this fact will not be publicized, else it'll trigger panic. The fact about the upcoming expedition will not be disclosed too because Border doesn't want to.
• Only selected B teams will be informed of this (Border doesn't want to risk a leak).

I think this filler arc will probably make use of the "hand-holding" of Chika and Osamu once again. This way Osamu can be useful on the field, Chika don't have to shoot anybody and Osamu wont get superstrong either before the Top B rank fight thus still making sense. Guess that is why we saw Osamu having huge trion cubes above him just after the scene of a blushing (I know a shipper girl who will squee so much about that scene) Chika touching a hand with that trigger link symbol on it.

Also on another note, the chapter 117 got translated! YAY!

• Kinuta asks why Mikumo comes too. Yuuma answers he wants to ask Enedorad (yes, it's his in series nickname now) something. Enedorad is not happy with his nickname.

• Map: city, Task: sneaking around and snipe each other. The gun used is special, no sound, no light. It doesn't seem shoot bullets but rather marks/stamps, so Chika has no problem with it, much to Yuzuru's surprise.
• Izuho sucks at sneaking. She got shot 20+ times and has stamps all over her body.
• Chika gets 104 points, rank 19. Izuho is rank 49. Yuzuru is not sand bagging today, so his rank is pretty good. Rank 1 is Touma (never got hit). Rank 2 is Narasaka (got hit once - I'm betting Touma did it)

• Izuho is pouting because Chika sniped her even though she cannot hit people for real.
• Chika credits it to her master.

I hope 338 is a girl. Would love it if the 3rd ranked sniper is a woman and somebody Chika will see as her goal to become a better sniper than her. So far we got no sniper "rival" for Chika like Yuuma got with his attacker buddies or Osamu had due his "captain" status. Whoever 338 is, he or she is very strong and quite serious about this training. At least far more serious than Touma. XD

Looks like Aftokrator is in deep political issues else they wouldn't send their minions of their vassal states to keep Border busy but prepare for a counterattack of Border. Looks to me like the whole "god candidate = World trigger sacrifice = certain death to both body and soul" isn't a well liked way to go amongst Nobles. There were theories about Hyuse been left behind due this very reason, him opposing Hyrein's faction in chosing one of his faction to become the sacrifice for their nation. Could ofc be also the other way around, like the faction who stands the god candidate becoming the next king family or something like that.
Whatever the outcome is, Hyuse was deemed a danger to Hyrein and his plans after the failed kidnapping of Chika and that usually means that there is a risk of their factions fighting each other in Aftokrator. A possible civil war certainly would tie up enough manpower to not bother with defending their borders much.

And also explains why they send their vassal states in as they certainly would not want them to try to rebell when noticing that the Aftokrators are having a falling out amongst each other who of them should die for their nation as god candidate.

So Hyuse might have a reason to join Tamakoma 2, but that doesn't answer yet why Kido should allow Osamu to get a 2nd Neighbor in his team, a POW none the less. That one gonna be really tricky.
