When Midora demanded the century soup he somehow snatched it out of Alfaros hands, similar to how Ichiryuu froze Bile and returned him to his original standing place, so maybe Acacias disciples all have some power related to teleportation, probably done by some sort of cosmic ability like spatial manipulation, matter and anti-matter control, all that fancy stuff.
Many comics and manga do this, although I have a hard time imagining how you could do this with the whole food theme in Toriko going on, usually shimas ideas are based on something that already exists in the real world but is heavily exaggerated, like tommys compound eyes, shivering upped to eleven, etc

now, THIS is what I've been waiting for. a 1-on-1 fight with hard hits blood everywhere. I really think Tommy's my favorite character in the series, if only because he seems to bring out the best in the manga.

Meteor Garlic was a great arc just for the writing alone. Shima really got his shit together when it came to describing the rules of Gourmet Tasting as well as how Coco one-upped Livebearer over ingredient consumption order. No joke, when Shima puts his mind to something, he can really put out some good quality entertainment.

The chapter today was nothing short of incredible. THIS, THIS is what I've been wanting to see happen again in Toriko for the longest time. Sheer, unprecedented brutality and lots and lots of weird facial expressions. I really hope this means that Shima finally got his mojo back.

However, the abridging of the cooking fest is the only thing that will make this arc fall behind Century Soup for best arc. We really wanted to see the chefs strut their stuff.:sad:

Hopefully, Toei will cover the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I'm at least thankful that the studio animated Coco vs. Livebearer, even if it was an OHKO.

Problem was they skiped the VIP area entirely and then the revelation of "Oh, we actualy have the Meteor Garlic right here, we just pretended not to. For some reason." felt once again realy weak, like Shima didn't actualy want to follow up with actualy looking for the damn thing.

I wouldn't have liked it if they had Toriko actually "consume" the garlic in memory form. That would've been a technicality which may or may not had gone over with Ichiiryu.

Am I the only one here who wants to see Tommyrod make a cameo in Assassination Classroom?

i catched up 3 month ago with this series and i really like Toriko. It's currently my second favorite Manga (One Piece is first^^). Shimabukuro does a great job and Toriko is currently way above Naruto and Bleach, imo. Shimbukuro is very creative and delivers awesome explainations, fights, characters and moves. This dude got some really amazing ideas!

To the Chapter itself.

I'm not a big fan of Tommyrod. No, the character himself is amusing and awesome, only his insects spam shit annoys me. But he decides to fight by himself, so its bearable this time^^. I didn't like Sani either, but since the last Chapter i started to like him. His power is finally to my liking and i am excited what we will see next from him.
But overall, Sani vs Tommyrod wasn't that much of a good match up for me, but it turns out interesting and included the first badass moment of Sani :D.
I hope that the rest of the 4HK will also have such "awakening" chapters. I really look forward to this.

PS: Zebra got a shitty power -.-…i don't like him, so maybe it will change if he gets the power up.

Not liking the main characters is a pretty big issue depending on how much spotlight they get. Naruto and Bleach suffer from that so much because pretty much none of the characters who are actually decent are ever really utilized. That said, it's fine to like a manga without particularly loving the characters if other things about it appeal to you. By the way, nobody here things you shouldn't like Naruto or Bleach just because Naruto and Ichigo are shitty main characters (and honestly shitty characters in general). There are many, many more reasons for why Naruto and Bleach are awful series. But yeah, I like Toriko a lot, but I feel like you really should try branching out and reading more manga given the way you've been talking

But Sani grew on me the last 2 Chapters^^.

Sani has been my favorite for like ever. I have a nostalgia spot for characters like him. The fact that he's actually very strong is icing on the cake.

I'd love to give you suggestions, but this is hardly the place to do it. If you want to hear about a lot of awesome manga, I'd recommend asking in our manga recommendations thread. There are tons of manga being written all the time, so trust me when I say that thinking you've read all the good ones is ridiculous

Toriko and Coco are fairly boring (I think Coco's predictive power is particularly lazy) and Zebra is hilarious but has no depth. For example, I love the chapter where Sani is eating pasta, looking out into the rain and thinking back to the time he went to the gourmet world.

Toriko is your fairly standard Shonen main glutton. Famous.
Coco is the calm cool guy who's super reserved and never gets ruffled. Fortune-teller. Lonely?
Zebra is the large angry guy. Criminal.
Sani is the guy obsessed with all things pretty. Feels bad for breaking other people's things. Get's a country accent when angry. Part time surgeon. Is tough on but cares for his sister.
