I can fully agree with that. Rockstar's stories may not always be the best, but they're at least entertaining to watch play out. The main character always have some kind of motivation that keeps things feeling focused, like Niko searching for the men who betrayed him or John Marston hunting down his former gangmates. The only motivation I felt with the characters of GTA V was "Let's steal as much money as we can, and screw over anyone that gets in our way."
Edit: I didn't bother with the medal system after a while. Most of them are waaaay too tedious to even attempt. (And keep in mind, this is coming from someone who got 100% synchronization in 3 Assassin's Creed games.) The fact that they only show up after the mission is over doesn't help, either.
-
I really don't like online, 80% of the time no one joins anything and even then its usually 1 person. You really need someone to play with to get the most enjoyment from my experience. I just end up doing nothing most of the time and the rank system is so unbalanced for low level players. I should atleast be able to buy ammo for any weapons I pick up so I can use that assault rifle I got from killing a swat pig. The respawn system is bad, there should be an option to respawn at different points on the map not just 50 feet away or whatever. It just opens the game to griefing from other players.
Some random guy even gave me 60 million one night, so I can buy whatever basically and I'm still not enjoying it. That kind of killed the whole experience though. since I haven't earned anything through playing.

This is what happens when you open a sandbox in multiplayer format. But yet strangely enough GTA 4 & Red Dead Redemption didn't seem to have this problem.

Would kind of break things a bit if you could do that.

If you could respawn anywhere you want to especially during a Deathmatch Mode that would actually somewhat unfair to other players and potentially a liability to the person exploiting such a gimmick.

Considering how tedious making money in this game can be thanks to shitty pay for most missions and Rockstar making it so that redoing jobs no longer earns you the same amount of money as you did doing that job the first time. You should consider yourself lucky hax or not.

Hot Coffee 2 incoming?
-
Difference between the original Hot Coffee mod and this.
The Hot Coffee mod wasn't designed with Trolling and Griefing in mind.
-
Still waiting patiently for any more news on single player DLC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I know the Hot Coffee stuff was actually a part of San Andreas' retail code, the Modders simply unlocked it. This mod appears to have been built from the ground up. I stopped reading the article when it advised it was NSFW, but that appears to be the case from what I DID read.
-
As far as I understand it they're using existing animations to do it as I'm pretty sure the actual game does have a non-interactive sex scene in it so the animations are there to some extent.

They're merely applying certain NPC animations to playable characters. For example there's a mission in the game where you spy on and record a TV celebrity being fucked in her backyard. Modders make themselves play the male animation while they make the other player have the female animation. There is also naked old dudes in the game that are part of a cannibal cult so they also can swap their model for them.
Basically, this is all in-game stuff. They're just mixing and matching it to… unintended situations.

Online heists are finally coming.
Oh yeah, and the PC version comes out next month.

It will be nice to actually get a chance to play GTA5 - as long as the port is done well enough.

After the asshurt that GTA4's PC version generated it had better.

It should be fine. The game's been in development for PC since 2012. I'm pretty certain the PS4 and Xbone versions are ports of the PC version.

That's what I am hoping too - I have a little narrative going in my head the reason GTA5 was delayed was to make console owners feel better for playing it earlier when it turns out to be an amazing port - I know the reality but one can hope.
-
The reason it was delayed is so Rockstar releases the same game 3 times and gets some people to buy it all 3 times. They already made over $1 billion on the PS360 version of the game. Delays don't happen because of what you said. They happen because of more money. Even though I think it just encourages people to pirate the game on PC, inflating the numbers so Rockstar has something to point to next time.

Specs are good. They seem more or less the same as MP3's, which is what I was expecting. Fuck them for another delay though.
Edit: Except for the HDD requirement. Holy shit what are they doing. I doubt the textures take up that much space, and GTA never uses prerendered cutscenes. Only thing I can think about would be uncompressed audio in like 20 languages. English should be the default and you should be able to choose which languages you want to download.

Could've been worse they could've pushed it back into next year like they did with the console version.

Those were two different versions though. This is pretty much the same version that came out on consoles last year.

True but at least they're consistent:whistling:

I wasn't considering buying it until now, maybe I should pre order for that Max Payne 3.
Is Gta 5 going to be full price on PC?

Heh, I already have all of them. Why no MP1 though?

Even Sam Lake can't see the logic behind this exclusion.

Yep, $59.99 (or the equivalent of a full price game in other regions).

Damn I guess I wont be buying it. People shouldn't even be buying this at launch anyways.
You should always wait for the steam sales.

Depends on the game for me.
Grand Theft Auto V is a pretty high quality game (had lots of fun with it on Xbox 360), so I'll be picking it up for launch. Not 100% sure about the preorder yet though, so I may wait for people to start talking about the quality of the PC version (within a few days of release) to buy it.
-
well for something as popular as GTA, i wouldn't expect even steam sales to do more than 25% discounts for quite a while (guessing two years).
But I think the PC version could be worth buying at release if they ironed out the bugs via the console versions and if the port is good (a big if though).
-
I don't think anyone should pay $60 for a game two years after its initial release.

Grand Theft Auto V came out just over a year ago though. The additions that came from the PS4/Xbox One version (which I presume is also the PC version) easily make up for the price tag (and the fact that it's moddable. Can't wait to see the custom content that people come out with).

This'll depend as well. Skyrim, for example went down to 50% the year after it released.
-
You're paying $60 for better graphics (compared to a version of the game that barely ran on the PS360 and was obviously gimped to hell to get the game to work) and a first person mode. And there's no reason to believe that the game is moddable. MP3 had drm to prevent tampering with files and I assume GTAV will be using the same stuff.
The game itself has been out for 1.5 years come March. Hell, I wouldn't put it past Rockstar to delay it again.

There's way more than just first-person mode.
That MP3 fact sucks. Gonna hope they're able to bypass it (if a system like that is put into place), but it won't be a total game killer.
-
It's 75 bucks USD in Australia - with the conversion AUD > USD = $91.38c Australian dollars, I'm not really thinking I want to pay that to be honest. Rockstar has done so well making me learn to be patient I think I can wait till its on sale.
It's irritating and I know I am part of the minority who would be willing to wait but clearly Rockstar has no interest in being a customer first company - it's crap like this that makes me glad Star Citizen has made 70 million bucks in crowd funding. Hopefully they show consumers there are companies that care and put them first.
-
well if Westfarmers (Target/KMart) weren't being greedy/stupid with publicity stunts then they'd probably have the game for $60-80 AUD (since that's there usual price for COD). However they decided to listen to that stupid petition about anti-sexist when the game is equally violent towards everyone. But, business wise it makes sense since they'd get "good" publicity while the majority of console sales are already over and their PC "section" is a joke so they'd never care about that anyway (seriously it's only 1 shelf and 80% of it is Sims 3 expansions while the other 20% are Blizzard MMOs). Whether listening to idiot feminists that can't use logical arguments is good publicity or not is another matter.
So we're stuck with EBgames and Steam, both of which are a ripoff.
As for Star Citizen I am glad about that game too and I managed to get it on a special $20 sale. I have doubts about it being able to "do everything" but from what I read it seems to be going fine.

The PC release date has been pushed back again to April 14th, and Heists have been dated for March 10th.
Not surprised.

Foresight is a hell of of drug. And Christ I thought they already added heists to the game.
-
I'm glad Rockstar is as predictable as I thought. They even keep saying "polishing" is the reason for the delay. If this game has any obvious bugs or glitches people really should call Rockstar out on it. You can't just polish a game forever, if that is actually what they're doing, and I think it's not. Doesn't make sense that they'd put so much effort into the PC version after how they handled GTAIII through IV on PC, and their effort (if it exists) is misplaced as, while I don't like devs relying on patches to fix games they release broken, if GTAV's PC version is still noticeably buggy after how long they've been working on it that it needs to be continuously delayed then there's an issue with however they're working on it. They've put themselves into a spot where whatever they do will get them criticism. They've already lost me as a customer because of the delays. If the game wasn't delayed and released as poorly as IV was then there would be complaints, and there's complaints about the delays. Maybe if they weren't working on 4-5 versions (PS3, 360, next gen (Xbone and PS4 may count as separate versions), and PC) then they'd get things done quicker. But then again, they need all the money grubbing they can get since they spent so fucking much on the game in the first place, and continue spending money on it because of the music licensing for the new versions and the developments of these many versions of the game. There's no winning for them in some people's (including mine) eyes.

It seems Heists actually came out this time.
Hopefully the same will happen with the PC release.

It's beautiful.

Grand Theft Auto V can now be preloaded on PC.
Looks like it's actually coming after all!
-
I am going to make an Elvis impersonator and run over pubbies with the ZZ Top car.
It's gon' be great, too bad my next LAN party is literally the saturday before it comes out.
-
Bought it against my better judgement. I figure my angrily boycotting the game won't do much good and I'd rather play it on release than waiting. I'm still surprised at how much work they seem to have put into the PC version for a company that release shit like GTAIII through IV on PC. Some companies are making worse PC versions somehow while others are making really good ones. No smaa option is pretty stupid though. Their screenshots seem to be using txaa though and it's not a blurry mess amazingly enough.
-
I'd feel like a chump if I bought this game again given I already paid full price on PS3. Especially since I didn't even like that much
But god do I want to try flying a plane through Los Santos in beautiful 1440p and messing around with mods.! I hope it's easily piratable
