I don't know why, but kind of like the idea of Burgess winning and/or recieving the Ace's fruit for BB. It would give Luffy another reason to take down Blackbeard in their final encounter. Is it wrong of me to wish misfortune on Luffy?
I'd love to have Luffy fight Burgess when he acquires the Mera Mera no mi powers only to have Caesar take the fruit back at the end of the arc (sure, Burgess can die, i don't care! Well, maybe i care a little… but if he dies it's the best war declaration Luffy could ever accomplish against Blackbeard who keeps underestimating him).
• the mention of Kuzan actually opens a route for the fruit to go to Coby (Kuzan was there when Coby told Garp to let Luffy leave Water 7, he probably knows of their friendship/rivalry and I still believe Kuzan will reach Dressrosa and it wasn't a coincidence that he was near Punk Hazard). Storywise it's hard to find a character that would need the fruit more than Coby or that Luffy would give it to more gladly, but still there are so many possibilities.

That was a war in Marineford. This his kingdom. I don't see him having a WTF face Enel-style anytime soon, but I foresee a lot more angry-flamingo, and probably some worn-down-and-irritated flamingo later on too. Luffy will turn that crazy grin upside down eventually.

To be fair, she would have to fight Luffy eventually if she won block D (assuming it's a four way finale and not 1 on 1 semifinals). Luffy was probably appeared to be the most trusting, and was in a situation where he could use some help, but certainly wasn't going to die as his guard was up. If she saw such an opening with any known-non-fodder in Block D she might have done the same. In short, maybe she didn't see any opening in ambushing Cavedish.

How is Oda able to make this arc just better and better?
-Nothing much to comment about the cover story this time, seeing how it was pretty obvious that we'll get this now.
-Nice way to stop Cavendish for a bit. That guy is really persistent though. :D
-Oh god, Bartolomeo is so friggin' great. Like wow, he was hilarious and badass at the same time this chapter, and is just a great idea for a character in general.
-Was there ever an article about the Straw Hats on Alabasta though? Crocodile was said to be taken out by the Marines I think, so what was written about them back there? I know his 100 Mio. bounty came out after that, but I don't recall there being an explicit article about them being on Sandy Island. Bartolomeo saying how he was following Luffy's actions from Alabasta to Impel Down followed by "Then came the fated day at Marine Ford!!" also felt kinda weird, seeing how Impel Down and Marine Ford actually happend on the same day… The number of towns under his control also felt a bit overblown, but enough of the nitpicking for now.
-Chinjao also became a great, funny ally now - as expected. Him making Luffy ran away was hilarious as well. With him being able to stroll around freely after losing, I have to wonder what's really happening with the losers now.
-Nice tease about Kuzan, lol. Looks like he joined Blackbeard's crew, but he'll probably screw them over. He isn't really the guy to work under one of the main villains.
-Blackbeard's first lines after the timeskip and there were pretty great as well. Can't wait to see him.
-Just stopping to say that I really enjoy such little things like Luffy comparing Rebecca to Kinemon. These lines that Oda sprinkles in from time to time just makes the dialogues feel more dynamic.
-While I have to agree that Rebecca's design is kinda disappointing - though we knew that already since she was introduced - her backstory seems really interesting. Oda sets up quite an amount of upcoming flashbacks. Law, Doflamingo, Kinemon and now Rebecca.
-Since Ricky seems to be Rebecca's father (and Kyros), I have to wonder who the toy soldier was before being transformed. I also hope her mother is still alive, I don't think we have a need for another dead mother...

Block D is gonna start shortly and I predict that Rebecca won't be joining simply because Luffy's gonna knock her out. He must know that she has no chance on winning by using kenbonshoku so he protected her from harm and promise the gladiators that he'll gonna kick Doflamingo's ass. That way, Cavendish will steamroll Block D (unless Damask is important) and we have the preliminaries over with.
Some long-term predictions: Vegapunk with Paw-Paw fruit for Nakama!!! Kaidou is gonna be killed by Blackbeard and get his strongest Zoan DF!!!

Chinjao's floorbreaking and Bartolomeo were really amusing. The part with Rebecca was interesting, hopefully she at least gets to do something cool, Cavendish will probably win block D, though, if he doesn't that'd be a cool twist. More mystery with Aokiji is also pretty interesting. What is he doing contacting Blackbeard?

There is going going to be a huge number of fights this arc. I think CP-0 is going to be at the factory. That way, when Luffy is finishing things at the Coloseum, his crew will be fighting CP-0. Also, DFss strongest allies/crew could be there and CP-0 will be in the final part of the arc. Zoro, Sanji, and Franky are probably going to finally show off like Luffy is right now. They will steam roll one of these two groups.
oh and the coverstory needs to end. Hopefully will, too soon. That's been the worst one in the series, I think, just going back and forth for so long and being one of the longest.
Oda needs to do the right thing and make Bartolomeo the next crew member. lol. I can only imagine the hilarious scenes every episode haha

This character development reveal with Barto makes me think only one thing, and one thing only. That he'll eventually come to hate Luffy. His fanaticism is far above anything normal, and he has too many opposite characteristics to Luffy. He's dark, brutish, hateful, unlikeable, and so on. When Luffy rejects him for whatever reason, the primary one (I'm thinking/predicting) being wanting the join the SH's, he'll hate Luffy for life.

Oda can do whatever he wants of course, but there's no way were getting two crewmates in one arc…If either, I hope it's Barto because, while I want another female strawhat, it's so we have a girl on board who looks totally different from the other two down to body shape. Rebacca is not that girl, and Bart's awesome...

I dunno, contrary to his outwardly appearance, he has shown some traits that suggest his moral ambiguity.
The way he reacted to the hypocritical crowd, and uttering how disgusting their self-preservation at cost of others, is a cynical trait, but not a negative one.
Then we have his disapproval on unfair strategy of Dagama, ignoring the format of the battle royal.
I have a feeling Barto isn't as "evil" as he's made out to be.
What with Law joining forces with Luffy, Bart going gaga for Luffy, Chinjao giving the reigns of his former navy to Luffy, and the countless allies probably being attained in Dressrosa, I'm starting to think more and more that the final battle between Kaido and the Strawhat-Heart alliance is going to look less like Enies Lobby and more like the final battle in Lord of the Rings.

After having witnessed blocks B-C taking more than one chapter, you still believe something like that. Even after having been shown named characters of that very block, you still believe it will take less than a chapter or even happen off-panel. Aah… you guys keep me young.
