Volumes are typically found a week or so before the "official release date" for all viz series at bookstores like B&N. Occasionally you'll find them even earlier. It all depends on when the volume is supposed to be released but you can often find the September volumes around the end of August and so on.

I preordered from Amazon and they got their copies in a few days ago, and with two day shipping I got it today.
But a few Barnes and Nobles around my area get the releases around a week early or so. I know I got volume 57 a full week before, and during the speed-up I was getting the volumes around a week early.
-
Got my copy of 58.
Read through it.
It said at the back that 59 is being released in February. I'm guessing that's a mistake, considering Amazon has it listed for December 6th.
-
That had better be a mistake.
-
Hey The Spaceman you said Haki at the end of CoO and stuff bugs you, but I just want to point out that's how it is in the japanese version too.
Kenbunshoku no Haki, not just kenbunshoku

Looks like Viz is going to start releasing digital volumes of Bleach & One Piece every Monday until they are caught up to the North American print volumes.
-
today I went to B&N to get volume 58 and they are sold out then I checked on my itouch on my B&N app to see if the volume was on another store and in every store it said OUT OF STOCK! and they will re stock next week so this means volume 58 sold a lot
-
I'm afraid if I submit a drawing of One Piece, it'll lose to a 6 year old's drawing of Naruto and Sasuke doing a 'bro-fist'.

one way around that: draw Luffy/Ace in the likeness of NaSa doing bro-fist (or any One Piece characters in Nar likeness)

Im willing to bet mine will be out when i go there as well, it probably has alot to do with all the borders stores closing and the few major book stores left are getting overwhelmed in the process.
Edit: Just went to mine and yea there all out as well, I think like toriko each place only gets 2 or so copies from how it seems.
-
The Barnes and Noble by my house didn't even have volume 58 in stock yet when I went yesterday. They said they didn't know when they would get it in, so I just ordered it on Amazon.

Hey guys, thought I'd mention I got a package from Viz Media because I constantly complained on their twitter about not promoting the One Piece time skip in Shonen Jump. So yesterday in the mail I got some awesome One Piece posters, some one piece sticker book and one piece volume 58. They also sent me a letter saying that the SJ team was sorry about that and aware of the mistake. They also told me they expect to see a lot more focus on One Piece in the next few issues!
Also, the One Piece week thing sounds more interesting, though it is probably just the boring articles they have on their site already.
-
Looks like I'll be complaining to Viz a lot more now.

I'm so jealous of you right now, but I'm glad your words got through to them.

Like I've said before.

What. Freestuff? Where do I complain?
-
:S Maybe it would have helped if I mentioned I happen to talk with Viz Media a lot more than on this occasion.
-
You should take pictures of the posters so we can see what they look like. :ninja:

They are the just posters from Weekly Shonen Jump, I'm pretty sure. Most of the stuff was imports they had for some reason. The only American thing was volume 58, but enough bragging..Umm yeah, One Piece week this Sunday, woohoo!
-
When they announced One Piece week on FB, someone commented and hoped One Piece would get the cover next issue.
They asked him if he was psychic. -
One Piece? On the cover of an American Shonen Jump issue?!
Madness.

I got Vol. 58 in the mail today. I remember when the volume first came out, it was noted that I think two of the page spreads were shrunk a little bit for the volumes, so I had expected only those two to be letterboxed, but it appears that that happened to every spread in the book. I wonder if that's the new standard for Oda's pagespreads or something.
Here're Viz's romanizations for the division commanders if anyone's curious:
! Marco
Ace
Jozu
Thatch
Vista
Blamenco
Rakuyo
Namule
Blenheim
Curiel
Kingdew
Haruta
Atmos
Speed Jil
Fossa
Izo -
Was this the volume that had the height and age of all the warlords or is that the next one. I can't remember
-
Sixteen characters of yes.
-
Wait is Namule supposed to be for Namur his only known fishman?
That's lame, everyone knows Namor the Submariner!
-
Volume 60 cover.
-
Eh, good enough. I guess this is what we have to pay for having the epic volume 57 cover.

Volume 60 cover.
They pretty much covered up half of Dadan's mouth in this one.
Oh, well…Also, in today's installment of One Piece Week, there's a segment focused on the SH's training.

Really… they went with kowtow? I get that that's what it is, but pretty sure most kids won't know what that means. They could've just used grovel or even just bow.
-
I know I'm super late, but are there any edits/changes in Impel Down and Amazon Lily arc(besides character names)? Sorry if there's a post I overlooked that answers this question
-
No, no edits as far as I'm aware of.

Hmm, Germany got the shrunken down version, too, but 59 went back to normal, so I'd assume Shueshia just gave out the unfixed, shrunk version of 58 to foreign publishers.
-
Now, this is really neat!
http://shonenjump.viz.com/op-color-spread -
Wow, it's pretty surreal to see that spread on an official English site already, given that it's still pretty new.
-
I broke out my old flash drive just to get that.
-
And now its my laptop's background :D
-
crosses fingers it shows up as a poster on the magazine… maybe not.. but hoping for a maybe.. yeah.. maybe
-
I wonder if there will be a one piece box set in the future
-
Looks like volume 58 managed to make lucky number 7 in the New York Times best seller list.
Good to see it up there for sure, looks like sailor moon dominated though
-
Viz did a little rundown of all the current sagas to date.

Today I finally got volume 58 and it was awesome but what I was wonderin is that on the last pege it says that volume 59 will be releases on february 2012 wasn't it supposed to be release this december??

I asked Alexis Kirsch about that on Twitter and he said volume 58 was printed before they moved the dates up.

Ohh, so that explains it. Thank you x)
-
Just in case no one posted it here, it looks like the volumes are actually getting another "speed up" of sorts.
http://www.simonandschuster.net/search?term=one+piece
Simon and Schuster seems to always get their information before everywhere else, and a few days ago the volumes dates were changed. So 60 in Jan, 61 in March, and 62 in May. Viz already changed the dates of the volumes once, so I guess they did it a second time? Not 100% legit, but like 99%.
-
If this turns out to be accurate, then that we'll be getting Volumes 60, 61, and 62 three months earlier than expected.
I'm not going to get my hopes up, but this is really interesting news. -
How did viz deal with the little slip-up between Kuma and Rayleigh?
