Why does Shuu want to kill James Bond?
Naruto and Bleach: Let's put this thread to bed I
-
-
-
I laughed so much because of the dialog of this weeks Bleach chapter xD, hilarious nonsense. I don't even know why Kubo bothers with it. He could just leave all speak bubbles empty wouldn't change damn thing.
Naruto is still horrible, waiting for another Shikimaru arc, when it's about Ninjas again and not friggin energy monster, eye mutations or skin illnesses. -
I'm pretty sure the majority of the Bleach fanbase gets turned on by trolling.
It would make sense.Give them a shitty chapter and they eat it up like crab cakes.
Sometimes it's hard to tell whether they're just praising it for the Lolz, because sometimes that's exactly what it looks like, or if they're generaly in denial.

@Mark:
skin illness?? did i miss something?
The Curse Seal Orochimaru gave Sasuke.
-
This thread died. Just like Aizen planned.
-
Aizen's plans don't make any sense. Thank god for that. Do you know what happens when there's nothing to talk about in Felch? Horrible things. The only recourse is talking about Pokemon Special, and since the threads are now merged, I don't see that happening. We must figure out a way to combine Bleach and Pokemon Special. Someone get on that.
and speaking of Aizen, what the hell did I just find.
-
I don't know who is worse: Aizen ou Konaizen.
But I am sure Kon can be a better villian them Aizen. That's for sure.
-
Well, Aizen is a great source of comedy. While it would be nice for Kubo to show the readers that he hasn't forgotten about Kon, I think I'd still rather see Aizen than Kon.
-
Speaking of Naruto, where did part 2 become irredeemable for you? This is how I'd chart the series' downfall
The rescue Sasuke arc in part 1 was already pretty terrible. The start of Sasuke's horrendous unexplained downward spiral, as well as Naruto's unexplained "he's like a brother to me!". Dues ex machinas (namely the sand trio showing up to save everyone's ass…and bone guy dying from a time limit rather than actually being beaten), characters living that had great death scenes, nothing but fights for a year, and very thin plot stretched over a year, followed by a conluding fight that sucked. (The anime fixed it some, but...) People hated it at the time, but there was still so much good will saved up from the Chuunin exams and Tsunade arc, people let it pass at the time in the hopes it would be better int he future.
People like to say part 2 was the obvious cut line, because then they can pretend all of part 1 was good. But it wasn't.
-
Part 2 actually picked up somewhat when we were introduced to the Kumo nin.
Then that got squandered when Bee and the Raikage became Naruto's Witnesses.
-
Do you know what happens when there's nothing to talk about in Felch? Horrible things.
Did you know I recently acquired a PHD in Horribleness?
ah, for Naruto threaders who don't know: when things get too quiet, or when I just feel like unleashing sadness upon the world, I post awful bleach fanart. The theme today? Nudity!
!
I have no idea who that lady is, why she wants to rape/fight Ichigo69, or where half the people's noses went. But I do know that the real Kenpachi would not be ashamed of his nudity.!
Naked androgynous chibis reaching for a star as they fall into a mob of christmas tree demons? Oh, Deviantart, you always know how to please!!
suddenly I never want to eat pizza again.!
Yes, happy birthday to Saila-chan indeed. Hey, watch those hands, Renji! If you touch Byakuka like that, he's never be able to get married! and WAIT WHERE IS SHUNSUI'S OTHER HANDHE LOOKS WAY TO PLEASED ABOUT HIMSELF
!
There are some artists who just can't draw certain things. Rob Liefeld couldn't draw feet (among other things) and always tried to hide them behind things. Kishimoto can't draw women, so he keeps them off panel as much as possible. But you have to admire this artist, who, despite the fact that they are fundamentally incapable of drawing anything remotely resembling human hands, chose to draw an image with an outstretched hand as the primary focus. That takes balls. Which is ironic, since the artist was almost certainly female.!
You will see this ass in your dreams. Forever. -
…............................................ Sigh. Once again, another hideous episode of projectile vomiting. :getlost: For the love god, I don't care if it's off-topic, we need to talk about Pokemon Special before we all become as blind as Itachi.

Yeah, the Sasuke Rescue arc was pretty bad overall, but I think it still had some pretty good moments. The point is, I don't think Naruto became "irredeemable" at that point. I don't think even the first 3 arcs of part two (Sasori, Sai, Hidan/Kakuzu) were irredeemable because, if by some miracle Kishi had gotten his act together after that, we could have just dismissed them as the "bad arcs" of Naruto. But no, it just kept getting, and everything from Orochimaru's death, to Sasuke vs. Itachi, to the reveal of Itachi actually being a hero was where the series became irreversibly broken and thus irredeemable.

Hey guys is there anything new to talk abou-

I was wondering. Did Kishi every say what made the Black Lightning stuff from Raikage's dad so special? More amps? Higher heat? Able to bypass insulators? Or is it only because it looks kinda cool? (Probably that).

I personally don't think the Retrieval arc was that bad. At least the fights were well done and impressive visually. Kishimoto was actually putting effort into the art back then. And it was cool that Kishimoto actually used the secondary characters and gave them badass moments. If only it weren't for all those flaws you mentioned which,… yeah I can't really argue.
Although I disagree about Sasuke's spiral being unexplained. It more or less made sense. He felt that Naruto was becoming better than him and that his goal of surpassing/murdering Itachi was falling out of his reach. So he decided to make the most desperate move by turning to Orochimaru in order to gain power. Obviously I hate Sasuke (mostly for the part 2 stuff) but his actions seemed pretty sensible based on his character. I agree about Naruto's sudden bromance being out of left field though. Something the hardcore fanbase tends to ignore. And I also pride myself because I always felt the Naruto vs Sasuke fight was probably the worst one of the bunch and not the "pinnacle of Naruto fights" which is what the bigtime fans say.
Don't get me wrong though. I don't think the Retrieval arc is good by any means. Because as well done and emotional as the fights are, they're all tainted in some way.
Choji vs Jirobo. Neji vs Spider Guy. They both ended up living, which takes away a good deal of the emotion that made those fights great.
Kiba vs Twins. Shikamaru vs Flute Chick. Quite good up until the Sand ended up bailing them out with a deus ex.
Lee and Gaara vs Kimomaru. A double deus ex.It's very possible the main reason I like the Retrieval arc is because as flawed as it is, it's still far, far better than most of Part Two. Because you could really tell Kishimoto was putting effort into it by looking at the art. Or at least far, far more effort than he puts into the current series if this war is any indicator. Still, I agree it's not nearly as good as people say. It's an average arc. Which is better than almost all of part two.
Naruto's golden age is undeniably the first 16 volumes with Zabuza and Chunin Exams. And there was so, so, so much more Kishimoto could do with this story. You've said it, I've said it, but it's very, very true which is why it'll keep on being said. And that's why Naruto sucks. Even if I still have a soft spot for the early volumes I must say: Fuck Naruto. You can do so much better. But I've said enough. Best not to repeat one self.
Btw Robby. I remember at some point in the Nausicaa thread, you said that some years back you spent a lot of time writing posts about all of the potential Naruto could have achieved to become one of the great Shonen masterpieces along with One Piece, FMA, HxH, Dragon Ball etc. I'd really like to see these posts. Because it's always good to see an intelligent individual ranting about how much Kishimoto screwed up all of his good ideas. Just see if you can find some of them, because I'm sure plenty of people here would like to see them.

Talking about that arc brings up another problem about Naruto: No one caring one about about the Sound. You'd think somebody in the Leaf would care that their invaders are without their leader, and even a throwaway line saying Kabuto now controls it could explain where he gets all the sacrifices from would be alright, but no.
-
So Renji's been training to be able to fight Aizen?…..Why!?...He's incapacitated!
Hopefully, I'm just reading that second-to-last panel wrong >:(
-
Is this cool? I think so
-
Dat Rock Lee.
Pretty damn awesome. I demand to know where part 2 is. I think there should have been more clones disappearing, though. and was that really the best Naruto they could find? Needs more blond.

It's not a high budget Hollywood flick, you know? And this part 1 just came out. Hopefully they can get part 2.

True.. and well, the fight choreography was so much better than the actual series coughsasukevsitachicough. Yeah, I really want to see the conclusion. Do the creators have some kind of explanation about how they did it? I'd like to read that.
-
Why can't the manga and anime be like this??
Take notes, Kishi.
I think he took too many notes from advisors and editors, etc. He should be a purist like Oda, and just goes with his own imagination.

On their youtube channel I think.

Looks like we're going to be waiting a few weeks before part 2. Their budget was $4,000.
-
Well, looks like Renji's about to beat up that shemale.
-
Next week seems to be the goodbye rukia moment so i guess two weeks from now will be the timeskip.
I liked the ending episode of this filler arc. -
Hiya, first time writting in this awesome thread, pretty nice job everyone here.
I dropped Naruto a year ago, and i have to agree with everyone in here that says that Naruto's downfall started in the Sasuke Retrieval arc. Naruto had a great start, especially with the Zabuza arc, you could clearly see Kishimoto's passion in the beggining, and you can easily see how bored of his manga he is now..
Something that started with a nice concept and plot degenerated to a manga that random ninjas meet in the forest and fight.Bleach on the other hand, never tries to make a honest attempt to have an organised scenario or plot, and i never considered it anything more than a fighting manga, where characters fight for the sole reason of fighting. Really, it's like playing Tekken or any other fighting game, with an amount of cool characters and yeah, fights. The only reason that i haven't dropped it yet is that it can easily be read in 10 seconds each chapter!
Anyone else have wondered why Kubo, after two Rescue arcs, and countless clich_é,_ still haven't done the biggest cliché of shounen manga? A Tournament arc? :DSorry for the tltr post~
-

Its not conducive his his asspull powerups.
-
Kubo would have to make a crowd every chapter, not enough air so its never going to happen.
-
Who said that tournaments need spectators.
-
Or the arena's background can change like in Yugioh.
So they can fight in Karakura town again.
-
Kubo would have to make a crowd every chapter, not enough air so its never going to happen.
Since when were you under the impression that Kubo isn't able to create a Tournament arc without drawing a crowd??
-
Who said that tournaments need spectators.
Yeah, the tournament can be just like the Cell Games. Take place out in the middle of a desert or something with a plain tiled floor as the arena and about 8 people watching.
-
Isn't Bleach already enough of a YuYuHakusho ripoff without having a tournament arc?
Besides, its pretty much what the Soul Society arc was anyway.
-
Kubo would at most be ale to write one or two fights before his TWEEEST OCD sets in and he'll scrap the entire tournament structure for a surprise Evil participants with Evil plot reveal. So like the Majin Buu arc, only the climax is one-on-ones with Yamu and Spopovich and their cronies.
-
Yesterday I bought Weekly Shonen JUMP #42 (the one with Naruto chapter 556 from last Wednesday) and upon a better look I realized that the giant clam was shattered! Does that mean they killed it. If so I don't approve.

Hey guys, let's talk about Naruto's art and how 2ch consists of a bunch of festering shit-eating morons.
In other news, 2ch has ranked Kishimoto as one of the best mangaka artists currently working. Judging based solely on artistic merit (considering issues of "design ability, perspective correctness, consistency, anatomical correctness, shading, etc), Kishimoto joins the ranks of such mangaka as Sadamoto Yoshiyuki (Neon Genesis Evangelion), Yasuhiko Yoshikazu (Mobile Suit Gundam), Hanaharu Naruko (Kamichu!), Igarashi Daisuke (Children of the Sea), and Inoue Takehiko (Vagabond) amongst the "S-Rank" mangaka. Comparatively, Obata was considered A-Rank, Oda was B-Rank, and Kubo was D-Rank.
Hey, at least they got Kubo right.
-

Hey, at least they got Kubo right.
They're judging his artwork, not his storytelling. He's a good artist so I don't see why a popular Jump artist wouldn't be in 1st place. Though I don't think that Kishimoto outranks Obata as an artist. To me he's the best Jump artist.

Mangakas like Miura and Yukimura work like slaves to do incredible art and 2chan says Kishimoto is a S-Rank and doesn't put these two instead.
.
This is bullshit… -
Oh so kishi has the same rate than inoue, what the fuck is this shit.

Hey guys, let's talk about Naruto's art and how 2ch consists of a bunch of festering shit-eating morons.
Hey, at least they got Kubo right.
Hah! I saw that on Naruto Forums (Shut up. I sometimes like to go there to see if I can find some lulz.) And yeah. It's very much a list of contrasts because while there are some genuinely great artists there, there were also some crap ones. Let me just say that Kubo was not ranked low. Because the ranks went from S-Rank to K-Rank (Yeah. 12 Ranks. Did they really need that many?). And yes it was an art list not a writing quality list. It was still pretty BS nonetheless and I'm not even that good at criticizing art.
Here's a basic overview of the list: Prepare to rage.
S-Rank Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto), Takehiko Inoue (Slam Dunk, Real, Vagabond). (I don't see how they're equal in the slightest.)
A-Rank Takeshi Obata (Death Note, Bakuman), Oh Great! (Air Gear), Yusuke Murata (Eyeshield 21), Kentaro Miura (Berserk) (All good artists. All far, far better than Kishimoto.)
B-Rank Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Hirohiko Araki (Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure)
C-Rank Katsura Hoshino (D. Gray-man, Kentaro Yabuki (Black Cat), Ryu Fujisaki (Hoshin Engi)
D-Rank: Tite Kubo (Bleach), Togashi Yoshihiro (Hunter x Hunter), Atsushi Okubo (Soul Eater)
E-Rank Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist), Akira Amano (Reborn)
F-Rank Hiroshi Shibashi (Nurarihyon), Ken Akamatsu (Negima). (TLC's rage shall pierce the heavens. I honestly don't blame him.)
G-Rank Hiro Mashima (Fairy Tail), Konomi Takeshi (Prince of Tennis)
H-Rank Mitsutoshi Shimabukurou (Toriko) (Rage)
I-Rank Iwashiro Toshiaki (Psyren), Kenta Shinohara (Sket Dance), Hideaki Sorachi (GinTama)
K-Rank: Ryuhei Tamura (Beelzebub) (Double Rage)So yeah. Tamura-sensei at bottom kind of irked me. He's better than Kubo and Kishimoto I know that much. It was just really odd that of the 25 authors/artists listed there are many that I have great respect for their work, and many that I… don't. I just really can't get behind the thought process of this list honestly. So yeah. 2chan. Haven't gone there don't think that I want to upon seeing this.
-
I have pretty much heard, why naruto wen't downhill for most people which is find, I was just wondering does anyone mind explaining how Kishi could have improve his manga like in, what direction he shoul have explored more on.
I'll try to give my 2cent asap.
on other issue's about manga artist, wow the hardcore fanboys will definetly disagree, i mean for both kishi and oda to be ahead of kuboo,
I mean everytime i see a debate about the three mangaka's art most tend to say kubo is the best with oda being last. -
This list is so wrong…Where Kishimoto is a top class artist? His art nowadays is extremely bland and odd, pages of random ninja and rubber lava can prove this.
-
@Kareem:
S-Rank Masashi Kishimoto, Takehiko Inoue. (I don't see how they're equal in the slightest.)
I don't have to read any further. WHAT. IS. THIS?
Kishimoto is not a bad artist… but my goodness no.
-
Ok seriously, I am actually quite flabbergasted at that list. I shall now go to bed in a massive rage.
