Terry Bogard presentation is starting in a couple minutes

Really was just 45 minutes of Terry Bogard. He looks great though.

So, female main characters for the 5th? My current pipe dream is Chell and Glados, even if the portal gun would be a nightmare to code in Smash. But I don't think that Valve is willing to play ball. I just want to hear Glados be her condesendingly evil neutral self again.
Another impossible, from an Indie company that hasn't gotten the same traction as Shovel knight, Undertale or Shantae, but has been my favorite since the begining is Supergiant, who's 4 games are greatly recomendable, and have Red, the Transistor wielder, as the thing is so heavy and unwieldy, it wouldn't work as a proper sword, or Jodariel, one of the players of Pyre, who is a heavyweight horned warrior, playing ritualistic 3on3 basketball in order to escape a prission dimension.
There's Cadence, who is already rubbing shoulders with one of smash's biggest franchises.
But I doubt an indie darling game would be a top priority for this lineup of strategic aliances.
Johana Dark wasn't getting enough hype because if it was going to be ONE rare miracle, you'd use it on Banjo.
Then there's Lara Croft, who's under Square Enix's care right now, but they don't seem that generous.
Of all of them, Lara is the most likely to be honest, but with the most boring moveset.
On the male division? Whatever, Doomguy, Dante, Crash, Sora, more interesting for the alliance that represents rather than the character themselves.

At this point Im hoping for the Hail Mary and crossing my fingers for Ratchet and Clank. They'd be a harder "get" than Crash or Spyro and be even more evocative of "Everyone's playing nice for this" since they are now completely owned by Sony. (Note:I would be equally happy for Crash or Spyro, but I just like Ratchet and Clank more)
I'm a fan of Dante from Devil may cry (even though I suck at his games lol)

That was hilarious. No, seriously the people knew how people were going to react and that just fills me with impish glee.
That was great. It's kind of amusing they were brave enough to end another DLC season with another Fire Emblem character, particularly when the benchmark was set so high, but given just how successful Three Houses has been and how excellent of a game it is, it's much harder to judge this one than the Corrin reveal.
There's also the bias of the character being awesome and the amazing OST playing that entire direct. Moreso than any other DLC except Banjo, I'm really excited for this one.
Also, Cuphead! I normally care very little about mii fighters, but they keep coming up with ways to get me to invest in them. Especially when they add kickass songs along them; it feels like heresy to NOT get these.
We didn't need more Fire Emblem Sakurai. Very underwhelming finish to the 1st Pass. (Cuphead was really cool though)
well looking at it one way Fire Emblem can't be one of the 6 Fighter Pass 2 characters right? maybe…

That was pretty underwhelming but I like the use of the different weapons!! I'll just pretend it's Monster Hunter with light armor lol. I still haven't finished Three Houses but I'm at about 70%? I might be able to get it done before the 28th.

Yeah if you don't skip anything it's a long playthrough. Especially if you player in the harder difficulty without relying on the divine pulses. I think I have close to a hundred hours on it.
The level of salt about Byleth is hilarious.

In all seriousness, Byleth isn’t that big of a shock. Three Houses has been out since July and yet Smash didn’t acknowledge it with soundtracks or spirits (like it did with New Super Mario Deluxe, Tetris 99, Link’s Awakening, and even Pokemon Sword & Shield and soon with Astral Chain). I thought that absence was a bit weird, and well there you go.
I'm fine with that choice (he/she was one of my pick for FP2). As I thought he/she uses multiple weapons to be different than the other lords which is nice.
Stage is cool and I always welcome more FE musics.
For FP2, I didn't expect 6 characters.
My only realistic picks left would be Rex (with a Pyra/Mythra/? switch mechanics) and Dante (for the dream match-up against Bayonetta).
A Pokemon will surely be added. Maybe a Metroid unit to go along the release of MP4 (assuming it's progressing better this time).

What Reggie said was that the characters would be new to Smash, not that they would come from franchises new to Smash. Huge difference.
People just took an article misquote seriously and hyped themselves up to much.
I kinda expected all of these 5 to be third party and then the next wave (that we know to be 6 now) to be first/second party.

Another thing that I love is that in the end the 3 that sakurai was holding meant 3 houses.
A part of me is a tad disappointed but the character looks fun and if we have to get another FE character, I'm glad this one uses Spears, Axes, and Arrows as part of their moveset.
All of the other 7 FE characters being Sword users with only Robin being slightly different with the Magic is an incredibly missed opportunity.
Cuphead Mii costume is super hype tho. I'm making an awesome Cuphead the instant the DLC hits.
Also, SIX fighters for Season 2 is awesome.

Maybe Byleth from Three Houses?
I am now open for lottery ticket premonitions.
Came to this realization:
I'm now looking forward to characters i like NOT getting in Smash, as anyone who gets there at this point would be inevitably heavily scrutinized for "stealing" a spot and debating incessantly about why they were picked and being memed or even insulted to death alongside their game and fans. All of this takes the fun out of it, it drives people apart instead of bringing them closer. Better to leave the characters in the games i like for who wants to appreciate them, instead of sending them to die in that madhouse.
You can find someone to love out of 75+echos characters. That <insert any="" of="" the="" million="" video="" game="" characters="" that="" aren't="" a="" fighter="" in="" smash="">isn't in, is not a personal insult or trolling sakurai. Even if Who counts binary using extended fingers as 0 instead of ones?? that's what insane(er) people do!
That said, I'd rather if Byleth was the oppener of pass 2 instead of the closing act of pass 1.</insert>

I have the entirely opposite take. If we get a hyper niche character that only I like and it brings hate from the internet towards that character and that game because of stealing a spot… pffft, I don't care, I still get the character I want XD.
I enjoyed three houses and because of that I'm hyped about Byleth. The internet can have a hissy fit like it has been over almost every game in the past year, I don't care.

Unless they release a new FE around 2021 (Even so, the lineup is already decided.) Then another FE character isn't really on the Realistic spectrum.
But that won’t stop the hive mind of the internet about it.
Besides, I still want the gacha gun as a mechanic.
Even though I am a FE fan and really enjoyed 3H, I am part of those who think Smash is already beyond the point of saturation with FE characters. But if we were going to include a 3H entry anyways, I really wish they would have done something more interesting than just damn Byleth. A Pokémon Trainer sort of character so you could rotate between Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude would be something interesting enough for me to overlook the fact it was FE yet again.
The trailer was really fun with the "too many swordsmen" awareness, but zero excitement watching Byleth themselves.
As cool as having Byleth switch between house leaders would be, the problem is that that would require Sakurai's team to work on essentially three characters (rather than just one) and likely would involve a lot of move and animation recycling (I remember that being one of the louder complaints about Joker when he came out; so I could imagine it being even worse here).
If Rex gets in and Nia gets in with Mythra and Pyra, I'd be stoked.
I love how Byleth is just a nuke like Ganondorf. It looks like so many moves can kill. I'm gonna have a lot of fun with that moveset. Terry's moveset was cool too but I can never get those inputs consistently. I think I'll enjoy Byleth the most out of the DLC

You folks really want to Pokemon Trainer to lose the one thing that makes they unique to the rest of the cast, don't you?
And just as Bugs said, it would be three times the ammount of work for one fighter. I seen people want the same thing for Blazing Sword.
Also, I think the concept is easier doing on Pokemon Trainer since a Pokemon seems easier to work a moveset than a human character with a weapon or at least easier to animate.
A showcase of the partner up system would have been nice, but the four weapons is better.
The partner up is basically Robin's final smash.
