Like it was already said a few times in this thread, i think seeing Zoro useing attacks which were based around intimidation, his aura and will power(Asura for example), i think we already saw "his style of haki".
But we have still to wait to be sure.
Chapter 628: "Cleansing" Discussion

-
I doubt Zoro or Sanji know Haki. Luffy's training revolved around learning and mastering it, while Zoro and Sanji (as well as the rest of the crew) were more on refining their skills and developing new techniques. But maybe some "basics" of CoA will be seen by them.
We know Luffy's training was revolved around Haki because Rayleigh said so. But do tell me which chapter do we get what Zoro and Sanji were specifically (or even generally) training on?
Because, do excuse me if I'm just being dumb, when I read it; I only get that Mihawk agrees to train Zoro, and that Ivankov gave a recipe to each of the 99 Okama Kempo masters around the island, which Sanji can get if he beats em.
So we don't know what, or how they were trained (well we get the slight gist of Sanji's, he had to beat those Masters by any means possible; and considering he's one of the more tactical SH, it wouldn't surprise me at all if he just tricked some of the Masters to get the recipe)
-

Zoro wanted to learn the "way of the sword" from Mihawk and Sanji absorbed the fighting power of Okama kenpo from the Okama's. The haki speculation is an extra that was never mentioned. It belongs in a theories or predictions thread.
-
@Uncle:
I'm hoping that next chapter Oda at least builds up the Luffy and Jinbei fight some more before they start throwing punches. I'd be able to forgive this coming out of the left field if there was at least an attempt in the next chapter to give it a more natural progression. But if they start swinging on the very first page then this fight is going to feel very forced.
Potentially necessary to showcase Luffy's growth, but forced.
Forced? What? There's not a lot of time to build up a fight scene, they only have 3 hours. Its just wasted time for his Nakama if Luffy lets it build up for even 5 minutes.
-

Exactly so, the Haki part was and still is a speculation, and thats all there is to it. I'd say I belong to the group that says "Yep, Zoro and Sanji will have learned at least 1 type of Haki during their training". What I don't agree is how Just_Gabe made it sound like that it was for a fact that those 2 were specifically taught something else.
Back to ur comment tho, I see that Zoro and Sanji had different kinds of "training". Mihawk agreed to teach Zoro, therefore we have a master-disciple relationship. While Ivankov didn't say anything about training Sanji, he just provided strong opponents for Sanji to defeat (an indirect training, so to speak).
So it wasn't exactly Sanji "absorbing" their techniques, rather he was presented powerful opponents to beat using his wits and the way he develops his own fighting style.
-
Let's save this conversation for when they actually consciously use haki.
How can you save a conversation of Sanji and Zoro possibly having haki until they prove they have it by consciously using it? All OPOMM is saying is that we haven't seen Zoro and Sanji fight properly yet, they may also have haki.

Better to save the conversation because until they actually use haki or mention learning it in a chapter we will never have an answer and the discussion will never end.

THIS ONE at least will probably end in two days when the new chapter is out and this thread gets moved :ninja:

I want to say only time can tell but that's not quite right… Only Oda can tell, for Oda knows all. Bastard. Il tell you one thing though. Being someone who started one piece when it was already finished the WB war this wait every week is fuckin agonizing. I can't imagine how some of you guys have been waiting for years every week patiently for a new one piece.
Haha, I know exactly how you feel. I started and caught up with the One Piece anime and manga the summer of last year, completely catching up around the beginning of august.
Just in time for the Time Skip, quite possibly the longest 4 weeks EVER!
Good times though, by the time Chapter 598 was supposed to come out everyone was flipping out, the site went down several times if I recall correctly, and I myself re-read that chapter a good 10 times at least. Excitement was so high it was like an early christmas. And are people going back to the haki discussion? I suggest that whoever feels like commenting should first read the last 3 or so pages.
As for Sanji fighting Caribou, I don't think Caribou is really as weak as we came to believe earlier. We have to keep in mind he's considered dangerous enough to be at supernova level. Personally that just makes me hope that Sanji does fight him and get his own bounty raise.
I also think that although Nami usually has the common sense to stop a fight under the grounds that it's a stupid waste of time, I'd rather VDD either appeared or threw something at Shirahoshi to remind them that there's plenty of enemies to take care off to be fighting between each other.
Also … wonder what Chopper and Franky will be doing in between all of this. I imagine Franky will want to stay and defend the ship, and Chopper will want to stay and take care of the injured Hachi, but then it's hard to imagine how they'll get in on the fight when the NFP are spread all over the island. -

It was much much better than an early christmas I have SO anticipated it… I was literally longing for it

4 pages. We've been busy :ninja:

i just want to add my 2 cent to the haki debate
Oda has told us all VA's and above use haki
now that doesn't automatically mean they can all beat the superiors the admirals easilyhaki is key but something is making the 3 admirals greater than all the haki using Va's
Swordmen in the new world use haki even if they don't mean to vista used it, im sure that the crew as they progress through the story will meet more haki users and both sanji and Zoro will develop either haki like luffy or styles which use haki that we understand to be haki but they themselves don't realise
-
All I'm gonna say is the only reason it was fully explained to Luffy by the Dark King was because it was a plot device to explain it to the reader. After he explained what Haki was why would oda then waste panel space to have Mi Hawk or Iva say the same thing to zoro and sanji. Either they learned it or they didn't. All I'm gonna say is no one here can prove they don't know haki without a shadow of a doubt.
-
Whatever the case, I guess the answer will be confirmed when we actually delve deeper into Zoro's and Sanji's abilities or witness either one of them being surprised to see Luffy utilize Haki in one of his attacks. Nevertheless, Sanji and Zoro learning Haki is very probable, given the large amount of time they were presented with to hone their skills, but since their training were far more focused on specifically different aspects of their abilities, (in contrast to Luffy's own training), it should still be very far from their captain's proficiency over it at the very least, obviously.
But yeah. There goes my two cents. I'm pretty sure most of those points I detailed above were already pointed out in previous posts, but whatever…
-
or witness either one of them being surprised to see Luffy utilize Haki in one of his attacks.
Luffy announced his use of it with the elephant gun attack.
-
And strangely neither Zoro nor Sanji were suprised by his haki move
-

Exactly; so I guess you can say that that means they're either already well-learnt about the existence and basics of Haki (and considered Luffy's use of CoA as predictable/expected), or they're not completely sure of what Haki is in the first place (or at least, not the specific "Colors" of it), thus triggering their casual response since they wouldn't exactly realize the extent of Haki Luffy learned over the two years.
But since there's still enough room for fan speculation over the matter, there's really no real confirmation yet, which is why discussions over this topic will continue to exist until then..
-
hmm.. isn't that it will be weird if everytime somebody want to use they have to mention "+haki" in the move name.. and it will feel a little inconsistent too because we never heard anybody doing that pre-time skip.
-
But without that, some people will always believe that there is no haki in the moves.
But I would hate if suddenly Zoro and Sanji start to say… Haki Kick/slash
-

That won't happen. We just got it that time because it was a special application of armor haki to harden his arm and turn it black, so it was notable like gear 3rd. He also used haki when he punched the pacifista (as verified by Sentoumaru) and he didn't say anything about it with that attack.

yea.. I hope you are right.. but what is the thing that worried me is people that always need Oda explain and show everything on their faces, and only that will make they believe there is haki involved. i mean like what Kishido said..
-
I think you can generally say that at least Luffy will be using Haki in every fight from now on seeing that it would be dumb not to use it when you can considering its awesome power.
-
I'm disappointed by the sudden realization that Robin no longer has her archaeology hat.
-
About the spread, Robin seems can clone her whole body now but how come she can clone her clothes too? She should be naked! XD
-

Probably because of the same reason that Luffy's clothes stretch along with his body, devil fruit's affect clothes as well.

But Robin's was the exception so far.
-
But Robin's was the exception so far.
But as far as I remember she's only used her eyes and arms to grow out, probably some other body parts as well which I can't remember, and those parts doesn't have clothes on them. She might have perfected that now.
-
She also used her feet while wearing something.
-
^ This exactly - and those feet didn't have shoes. I remember one cover, forgot which chapter, where she grew a foot out of an animal (a wolf or dog or something), and it HAD a shoe on - I was all hyped that this could happen now somehow, until I realised that one of HER feet missed a shoe. So, she cannot duplicate clothing.

Huh, completely forgot about that. Oh well, maybe she now carries multiple sets of clothing with her. Pfff.
-
Oda just does whatever is necessary with clothes to keep his manga within the shonen guidelines. Bare feet are not an issue. A bare body, on the other hand, is very restricting in what can be drawn and then animated. This is why Miss Doublefinger's spikes didn't rip her clothes (reference SBS volume 24). Buggy, logia users, etc all have clothes that allow Oda to be flexible.
-
She could just sprout another body without her private parts and everything will be fine…or creepy.
-
So instead of wearing clothes, you'd rather she was a Ken doll?
-
Bout that haki discussion:
Of course it'd be lame if Luffy said b4 every move "gumo gumo no haki punch", but didn't he said when punching the kraken sth like elephant pistol?
Maybe this is his way to name his haki moves, to name 'em after "strong" animals.
"Asura" as well as "Diable Jamble" somehow seem like CoA-attacks, just a lil weaker cause this was pre-TS. But that is just speculation too. -
I'll go with the clothes, since i can't unsee the Ken doll Robin now :/
-
This discussion goes in a rly creepy direction…even more than usual.
-
What is Ken Doll? u mean the boy barbie? lolz
-
This is the best "Cleansing" discussion I've ever read seeing as it's currently about 60% Haki, 38% Clothing, and 2% Dolls (more specifically their private parts).
-
God no, another stupid discussion about Haki. Zoro had haki since his FIRST FIGHT against 2 brothers from Kuro's crew, he ALWAYS had it showed it in EVERY single fight he has been in.
I also caught someone saying that Mihawk might not know haki? :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Even when Haki wasn't 100% fact, even before we knew about it, everyone and their mother knew that Mihawk can fight logia's.IF Sanji and Zoro cannot hit logia's at this point I will eat my hat and post a video on youtube.

I hope you're just being like this to point out the silliness of Haki talk in this thread…Because otherwise what you said is very ridiculous.

Thank you for summarizing that up for me. So, who's up for actually relevant stuff about the chapter like Where in the Island is Pandamerman?
Hm, here's a random guess thrown out: 3-way battle with Sanji, Caribou and Decken over Shirahoshi. Who's with me?
This isn't going to lead into more of the Haki Thread, is it? sigh…Edit: Now that I've reread the last part of my post, it reminds me of a romantic conflict. I'm not sure if it's like that. I didn't quite mean it like that either.
-
It will be like the ending of "The Good, The bad and the Ugly"
The Good: Sanji
The Bad: Decken
The Ugly: Caribou -

The Ugly: CaribouMm, I don't know, hard to decide when it comes to Caribou and Decken who is the bad one and who is the ugly one.
It's an interesting idea, it would definitely be amusing to see. Caribou can destroy Sanji by throwing mermaids at him. -

Decken isn't particularly ugly by One Piece standards.
-
I can see Sanji fighting Caribou and VDD. Otherwise, it would be too easy.
I think Hyozu will be more than a match to Zoro especially if they fight underwater.
