You already came up with good slogans xD
"Quick Pre-Ord…Oh they are gone" would fit to the PO discussion thread and
"The never ending POP recoulers" would be great for the main discussion. -
I went ahead and added the recolors thing to the main thread. I don't want to use the old one for the other thread because confusion would remain in that case ^^
-
It's missing a U in colour. :P Maybe neverending POP alts would be better and more friendly to everyone.
-
Haha not wanting to start an English war eh? XD Okay.

I like the seller/buyer feedback topic. Is there any way that a 'timewasters' section could be added to it, or would that be abit mean? I've had two or three people on these forums correspond with me and tell me they want to buy stuff when they really have no intention of doing so, and it would be handy if there was a place that they could be listed
-
as bad as it sounds, I kind of agree with that coopz. I've definitely had a handful of people or more where I've gotten the package all ready, given a shipping quote, and suddenly they fall off the face of the earth. I'm guilty of it as well, but nowhere near that extent. Sometimes I need a reminder or I need an extra week, but I always let the person know (and it is a rarity when it happens anyhow). It gets disheartening when it happens often, you feel like, "well, why bother?" >_<
-
I actually quite like the sound of that. Can it also be put down to people buying/selling who don't reply? I'm not naming any names but there is one member on here I've been contacting via email and PM for some time now and they've yet to reply to one of them. While I understand that soemtimes people don't see the PMs and Emails (considering if it's like me you end up emptying the folder every day or two.)
-
I'd have to think hard about this….because technically there is no firm commitment of any kind on these transactions since no one is bound by contracts or binding agreements....I know it's frustrating since I've had buyers flake out but everyone has different circumstances I guess. It is very wrong however to make the commitment and having the seller trust the buyer enough to shell out money first for something and then bailing on them....that deserves a negative feedback guaranteed. What's going to be hard is to implement something like that, we have to put really firm rules in place as to what exactly constitutes as a foul in this regard to deserve such a feedback....non responsive up to how many days? did the buyer really make a semi-firm commitment (this is really questionable due to english not being the primary langauge for all users)? etc. Thanks for the feedback...I'll have to chew on this one a bit.

Reporting here what I wrote on the main collectible thread :whistling:
It would be good to open a new thread with a first post maintaining an updated listing on good physical OP fig locations around the world. Well, at least in interesting cities like Paris and HK.
Could also add other Chinese cities like Beijing or Shanghai. Tokyo (elsewhere than the famous Akiba) and few other Japanese cities. Also heard that Italy and Spain were quite a treat for OP collectibles.

This would be great information….but I don't know about a thread for this unless there's really that many locations that the members here can actually report. How about talking to Elizabeth Heart about putting it under the FAQ section? I think that may be the best approach on this one.
-
Thats a really interesting idea. Would be happy to write a small paragraph about shops in London/surrounding areas
-
Yes, it would be enough to add a shop location listing in the FAQ section.
But Elisabeth can provide location mainly for Paris, other areas should be a WIP by other members, as for coopz volunteering for London? -
I'm assuming this will be implimented once we get a new main thread, but it would be handy if the release dates of the upcoming month were put somewhere easily accessible. They always get posted which is awesome, and then lost in the thread so people have to ask several times.
-
@ coopz yeah we're thinking about the a new thread seperating the news announcements so it doesn't get buried under comments. And we would think the first post being the release dates of the upcoming months for new merchandise would make a lot of sense.
@xinyingho and coopz definitely get with maggie (she's busy now I know) to implement the idea of physical locations of where to buy OP merch I think for the shops faq. Would be very helpful in general if you guys have the time to put it together.
-
Just an idea on the physical locations of stores, how about using google maps? The help pages for google maps talks about creating a customized map that can be shared & you can add people to help edit the map. You can also make the map "unlisted" so it doesn't show up in search results, but you can view it if you know the URL for it.
-
Added a Tome VI to the FAQ. The idea of adding maps is rather good but it would take a lot of places…As I put complete addresses, it should be easy for ppl to do it themselves on Google Map ;)
-
thanks xinyingho. Yes… so busy @_@. School is over in a week and a half, though, that will free up some time! I hope >_<
-
Foolio moved my post from the FAQ thread to the shop list thread.
I presume that if you're not an admin, I'm the only one that can edit the post? So coopz, if you can send me the locations in London by PM or put them here, I'll edit my post with your piece of info :) -

Edit : gmaps is bothering me ><;

@Elisabeth:
Edit : gmaps is bothering me ><;
Maybe I can at least add a link to a map next to shop names :)
Edit: I've tried to find a way to add some links but didn't find it yet…if anybody is an expert at this, help is welcome.

Just want to say I'm loving the setup we've got.
I just got my IRS check and was going to set aside money for the POP Aokiji that was jut announced. I needed to see if it had gone up for pre-order yet, checked the "Abridged" thread, nothing new. I got my answer in less than a minute. Thanks!
-
I'm really liking the new threads. They are now organized and easy to go through.
I got instant notification on my iphone when the links were posted in the "Preorders/In Stock Abridged: Links Only!" thread and was able to get my pre-orders in.
Thus, I did not have to sift through the discussion conversations to find the links.
Please keep up the great work and much thanks to those who posted the links.

Is someone going to make a "custom/building" thread? I want to post progress of my thousand sunny plamo when I start on it.

This. I been wanting to do customs for years now but never really bothered till now.
-
I can start it soon, school just ended. I was going to wait until I had a good tutorial set up, but meh. i guess not?

start now maggie :)….

I wish I had an HD camera to record me working! I can maybe whip something up Sunday…
-
Custom thread would be nice. I haven't done a custom model in about ten years now. Think that was the last time I did a paint job too. Be nice to see what people come up with and I always like looking at other people's work.
-
Can we also have tips/trick to taking care of our figures. Or maybe how to build a display case, etc in custom thread???
-
lol, I think the thread will be fine with materials, some techniques… beginners don't need that many tools too.
I want it to discuss stuff. Anyway you can always edit the first post! -
Also a place to post pics of other customs we've seen that deserve the attention of the forum. Like that guy with the custom Burgess and Magellan that showed up just before we got our sub-forum.
-
Well I'd imagine those would go in either the custom or the general thread anyways..
-
I'm in the middle of making a custom WFC so I'd love a custom thread. It could be for our own customs and customs seen on the internet.
-
I was assigned to make the custom thread but I am in the middle of having my life turned upside down and I'm afraid it won't right itself until the end of July. If someone else wants to start the thread that knows how to customize, that is fine by me. If you want to wait for me to be able to or for me to just start with a general thread with little to no info, I can do that. Let me know guys. Sorry, but not being homeless is priority over making & maintaining a new thread. :-/
-

Yes, that's what I mean. A custom thread could be a good place to post those kinds of pics.

Hey guys, there's another possible idea for a thread, depending on interest and reactions.
Idea: Box splitting/figure up for grabs thread
The basic purpose would be to organize box splitting between members for multi-item boxes, as well as to give people a place to mention one-time or limited-time offers that would get overlooked or not noticed in time in the regular sales/marketplace thread. For example, if you have a pre-order you no longer want but want to offer it to someone else before you cancel it, or even newly received items that you don't want to bump your entire sales post for but would like to alert other members to its availability.
Most likely, all organization and transaction would still be the responsibility of the poster/buyers to organize through PM on a case-by-case basis. So for example you might post "Hey guys I want to buy this box but I need people to buy X Y and Z or else it's not worth it. Please PM me if you're interested." The intention is NOT to have a thread requiring heavy maintenance or supervision, just a more dynamic place to work out group purchases or in-the-moment opportunities, new items for sale by members, etc. I think ideally new item alerts would link back to your sales page, and this way you wouldn't have to keep deleting and re-adding your post all the time to add stuff or change prices, and you'd have a static URL to your sales that you could link without worrying about it changing.
-
Tried to reply earlier but thread was closed? o.O
Great idea, this seems to be becoming more popular here and I think we could definitely use such a thread!
-
Yeah it's a great idea. I nearly always split up boxes and have the usual two left over glares at Franky and Zoro so it'll be nice for those who miss it normally to see that I have spares.
-
I agree. We definitely need that kind of thread :3
-
I like this idea! I say go for it!
-
LOL elisa and i were talking about that before, having something like MFC's 'let's split boxes.' XD Let's make it happen
-

I hope it does! That'll make things easier!
-
how let's split boxes does it, is they have 1 person do all the ordering. you have to pay for the figure ahead of time when you fill the slot. I don't know if one person would be willing to do that (and they'd have to be a pillar of the community, ie they wouldn't just up and leave) >_< to be honest, it would be better for it to be someone somewhere who didn't pay import fees as well (no offense to those countries that do have those fees) so it would keep prices down.

I thought the idea was so people could post saying eg: look. I'm buying this box. I only want x and y. Which means A, B, C, D, E + F etc are up for grabs. If I get enough people who want the others I'll buy it.
-
I made the thread. It would be nice if people were willing to buy first and collect payment after. We'll see what happens ^^
-
A thread asking for pre-order help. I've seen many pre-order cancellations that just take a chance from someone else. Taking over a pre-order is sometimes a hassle and might add to unnecessary costs.
-
It seems posting Links to Collectibles other than One Piece Collectibles is getting more popular in the Links only sub forum.
I would like to see them separate. I don't care that much about other merchandise. i came here for One Piece. I still like other anime/mangas but One Piece. This is what I am looking for. That's why I am voting for two separate Links Only Threads! ^^ -
Idk if it's been mentioned but a bootleg thread should be put up just so people know wether or not a certain figure they own is bootleg or knows of a place that sells boot leg figurines
-
any chance of the first post of the news section being updated? it was really useful but without updates it's pointless
