So he'd be full of holes, but couldn't die from them...
But Shunsui wasn't full of holes himself. He only received like 3-4 holes from X-McCheese's piercing shot, but the latter received multiple amount of that. Why?

Lille just got 2 holes as well, the same Shunsui had (minus the one in his foot… Kubo probably forgot that one). That was act one.
Then we moved to the act two when one of the lovers was consumed by disease because of the guilt he felt for hurting the other. That thing convering Lille was not holes, but a disease.
And also act 1 was the one with the shared damage, we already moved pass that. Shunsui ('s Bankai) is telling a story here (act 3, they decide to drown themselves, but the man loses his resolve in the cold water. Then in act 4, he finally cuts his throat).
Huh, well that sucks for Shunsui. Be a real shame if he died, but I guess those matching eyepatches were nice.

Not so great to see his final attack literally be a black line on a white background, that's like Getsuga Tenshou / Stark's release levels of laziness. Regardless of the shadow theme. And really, we're going do the whole "sneak attack because the enemy isn't really dead" angle? Christ.

I have no issue with that personally. After all, Oda has a hand in the creation of OP filler characters, so whether Kubo did or not, I don't feel I can hold using filler designs against him.
Zanpakto arc was better than most of Kubo's canon stuff anyways. I wish the swords had more of a presence in the series outside of weapons that barely make sense lol.

I wished that too. Especially when I read Soul Eater. But Bleach is already way too crowded as it is. And I doubt Kubo would have patience to give all his major Shinigami characters such depth.
Kubo sure loves portraying his female characters as physical abusers and play them for laughs. I wonder if there's deeper meaning behind it.
I mean, there are only a handful of female characters in Bleach that aren't like that, namely Orihime and Nel.

Well, my point is when Kubo attempts to humour, he always resorts to slapstick comedy using those kind of characters. Just look at how Hiyori acts whenever Shinji is present. Eyepatch lady from this chapter is just mild example.
The only female character (that I know of) that's actually on the receiving end of the shit was Orihime's friend, the glasses chick whose name escapes my mind.

They got wrecked due to an asspull move by Bach to revive and power them up further, not to mention Nimaiya was taken out before he knew what hit him, leaving 3 against 4 ( or 6 assuming Ishida & Haschwalth did anything which i doubt) Given a second chance, i have no doubt they'd be more than capable of taking them out…
Plus even powered up, imo the Monk woulda wiped the floor with the lot of them, based on his performance & hax ability vs Bach.
