Ok so lets talk about this scene. Some people have issues with the fact that Naruto is putting the village before his son. “During the series’ publication, Kishimoto got married and had children. The changes to his personal life affected the series as he made the protagonist Naruto Uzumaki shortly meet his parents, something the author wanted the character to feel based on his own experience as a father." (wiki)
Kishimoto is a father. A father with MASSIVE responsibilities. He had to dedicate so many hours and days to this manga. His own children had a father who had to please the many, but sadly, not have as much time as he would have liked for his own kids.
The manga “Naruto” is Kishimoto’s village, and he had to put us before his children. This is an ode to them. As a father. To tell them he loves them, even though he had to make sacrifices to keep us, as readers, satisfied. It’s actually really powerful, and heartwrenching, but also full of love for both family and fans.
Kishimoto sacrificed a lot to write this manga. Thank you so much.
Maybe Tumblr isn't all that bad.
Maybe Tumblr isn't all that bad.
He's been ignoring his son to write THIS?
Someone call the police.
One thing I'm not clear about in the finale…
Who mated with Rock Lee?
Or does the master of their martial arts just asexually reproduce the next generation? Cuz fuck, Gai -> Rock Lee -> ??? all look the same.

He Kidnapped that children. Lee is Naruto's Goblin King.
So, in the end a lot of people discovered Kishimoto is a terrible writer for entirely wrong reasons.
Yup.
16 characters.

Well, that does make a lot of sense…

I still prefer my own idea of how I had liked to see Naruto end - being there for his son and family unlike his father. I just see no reason why Naruto should be Hokage, or even considered being a "good" Hokage, as Naruto's warring time of the ninja states is over. Have we ever seen Naruto being good at paperwork? The same Naruto who considered writing more than ten words a "pain in the ass and so useless as Ninja"?^^;
Him taking on a job where he can spend more quality time with his son and daugther and wife, that would have been more to myliking of the growth of Naruto as a character opposing to his father's. Not saying that his father was wrong with what he did, just saying that there's no need for him to follow his old man's footsteps just because it "is his destiny~". But sadly, for me that is, Naruto doesn't. He is a copy of his dad who puts the village before spending enough time with his son (or ANY time with his daugther given what we saw in the final chapter -_-) to not make his son be jealous of the village and do the same pranks just like he did when he was lonley so that he can get SOME of his father's attention.
I had liked it more if we saw Naruto being seen with that what he said he missed at the beginning of this manga - having a family.
We didn't saw Naruto dream about being Hokage, we saw him being jealous of everyone around him who had a father an mother, who played with them, who were there for them, who gave them gifts and who scolded them if they did something wrong, but all in all loved them.
He didn't had that.
And he wanted that to have.
So he believed if he gets to be Hokage he gets all of that automatically for some reason.
Which made him seeing rather typing on a laptop and reading documents and stamping them instead to be with his wife and children to give them what he did not had in his childhood just sooooooo empty. >.<
At least if you make Naruto FINALLY the Hokage, then give us more than a single panel from behind and some speech how he is the father of everybody in the village and his son should suck it up and accept that. Show us Naruto being annoyed by the paperwork and rolling his eyes when Shikamaru reminds him of how many appointment he got this afternoon. Sow us Naruto working through that paperwork and think that he though being Hokage was a much cooler job then deciding how much money should be spend on cleaning the streets. Show us Naruto having meetings with discussions that show us that Naruto can hold intelligent reasoning and bring up arguments to enhance his position in those discussions (and not just hit the table, yell he's the hokage and got an ass-big fox demon as friend so they should shut up and accpet his resolution). HSow us Naruto getting home late, being dead tried and still having to read some documents before going to bed, his children already in bed and his wife had fallen asleep on the couch waiting for him, his portion of the meal still on the table. Just show us ANYTHING about him being Hokage if you make him Hokage.
So, in the end a lot of people discovered Kishimoto is a terrible writer for entirely wrong reasons.
Seems so. Never underestimate the shipping power in a fan's mind. Till 698, everyone was oh so sad that it ends, chapter 700 - everyone loses their mind over shipping pairs. XDDD
If I can't send Naruto off with Bohemia Rhapsody, then an original haiku will have to suffice.
Good bye you terribly planned and executed Coming-of-Age ninja story, where character growth is non-exist and everything is retconned.

Everything such as?
@Purple:
Turns out Itachi was the best brother a guy could ask for
Hey if nothing else tragic slightly batshit Itachi gave fanboys more fuel to feed their fiery hatred of Sasuke.
@Purple:
Turns out Itachi was the best brother a guy could ask for
Itachi's backstory at least felt like it was to some degree at least, always planned. There were certain key details missing, and the fact that he left Sasuke alive at all and wanted him to hunt him… didn't kill Kakashi or capture Naruto when he easily could have, (And entrusted Naruto with a powerup) and without actually spelling out his motive, it always felt like something that likely had a big piece missing that would change Sasuke when he found the truth... and Itachi dying after the truth was revealed was actually a pretty solid way to do it.
Sadly, the fight before hand, and Sasuke's reactions, and then later zombie Itachi, were AWFUL.
Honestly, given the illusions Itachi could pull off, is there any reason he didn't just relocate the clan then go back and hypnotize the couple of leaders that needed to think the clan was dead?
Now... retconning Gaara's father on the other hand and ruining HIS backstory...
Here's another one: Elemental chakra types, and how they interact with each other.
Introduced half way through the series, none of Naruto's epic-tier teachers bothered to teach him about them and the elemental strength/weakness stuff was quickly removed and forgotten soon after.
Hey, elemental chakras were important for… that one guy with the four hearts... and Sasuke vs. Deidara...
I guess. Neither fight was actually decided by those things though. But HxH had just done a leaf test and it was cool!

I guess the final chapter was not that bad. It didn't fail my expectations. Though that wasn't that hard considering I just hadn't any expectations at all.
Some months ago I finally watched the final season of LOST and had high expectations, but got somewhat disappointed.
! Because basically nothing gets explained. We didn't get even an answer for basic questions such as what is that goddamn island…
As standalone chapter the finale was quite okay and gave the series a decent conclusion I think. However, looking at it under the full context the chapter just seems terrible.
First the shipping:
I just feels so random. Well, that's okay I guess because it's not that unrealistic considering the little time skip. But the main problem is that I just don't care enough any more for most of these characters.
However, the biggest issue for me is way the ninja politics are displayed… or not. The world-building just is so abysmal. 700 chapters and we just don't know anything about how the world actually works.
Ten Ten's commentary sounds like written by someone who just discovered the RPG Maker engine five minutes ago and started creating a trashy RPG in which everyone in the first village just exclaims how peaceful and boring their world is just before the evil overlord himself appears, burns down the village and sets the protagonist on his long and so troublesome journey.
And so Naruto is Hokage and has an important meeting with all the other Kages. I seriously wonder what they have to discuss considering our messiah brought world peace and everyone's so happy? Do they make a poll whether to maintain peace or try it again with a war for here and there?

Nearly everything on LOST was explained. In-show even.
One or two really obscure things that it wasn't by any means the show's responsibility to explain are in supplemental material, but the show got to probably 95% of its questions, and anything else can be reasoned out pretty simply. If you have any real niggling questions, this probably answers most of them.
http://lostanswers.tumblr.com/
http://lostpedia.wikia.com
The biggest one you could probably point to would be the loose end of what happened to Walt, and even that was fully filmed material thats on the dvds.
As for what the Island was…
! The Island is a conscious place that can travel through time and space. It contains the source of all life. Water and Light combine at its center to form an energy that fuels Life, Death and Rebirth throughout existence. The Island, like all life, can make choices and be manipulated. If the light at the Source of the Island ever goes out, everything ends.
! Greedy evil company found it in the 70's, tried to harness that energy for a variety of experiments (that included polar bears), and it backfired when a big accident happened throwing everything off, including births on the island (which were just fine before then). Island then spent a few decades trying to correct and fix itself, which eventually Hurley, then Walt, were able to do, while also providing a nice afterlife meeting place where all their closest friends could have better lives than the ones they had before truly moving on, which is what the side-universe in season 6 was all about.
! If you don't like that answer, go with the island was "magic", but it was explained properly. Not in a 20 minute evil villain monologue in the last episode, but it was explained.
! Magic is actually the answer to a lot of questions, and if you hate that fact, then LOST just wasn't for you. Since the beginning, the central argument in the show was about Science vs. Faith. As it turns out, the winner of that battle is "a little bit of both."
! Jack started out as a man of Science, and he saved the world after he learned to balance his beliefs with his new found Faith in the Island. John Locke, on the other hand, operated on blind faith, and it broke him. He helped save the Island, but he also ended up being the face of the villain. On the other hand, Jack, the balanced one, was our hero.
! Among the show's sci-fi elements, like time travel and pushing a button every 108 minutes to stop the end of the world, there is also magic and ghosts and an afterlife. There is the unexplainable; a Monster in the jungle, and Magic on Magic Island.
! Similarly, Battlestar Galactica is incredibly based around religious faith throughout the series, and many of the conflicts are "military thinking versus religious thinking" from the very first epiosde, and yet people are still upset when it has a fairly religious ending and people at the end say that things they said in the first episode were actually true.
! People just have a problem with religious answers in their sci-fi.

The U.S. is at peace with Canada, but our heads of state still talk to one another. Aside from war theres still politics, trade agreements, money, debts, and a general sharing of resources that would take constant contact and communication. Maintaining that peace, dealing with bandits, outliers, Orochimaru might still be running around, whatever. It could even be an annual tradition where all 5 leaders visit a different rotating village in order to show they are all equal and such.
Relations between nations are about much more than just waging war on each other.
So I was trying to skim through the last ten or so pages of this thread, but I've skipped ahead to post in regards to the first important thing I saw.
Since when don't people like The Doors anymore?
I have not read Naruto in years but I read the ending, like the exact last chapter. Whatever bullshit happened this way to get the ending there (presumably contrived and poorly done), the actual ending was very typical and generic and also pretty okay and fine. Shrug. I felt a slightly smile at some stuff, stuff that was kinda cute.
Here is my issue with the ending. So Naruto felt lonely as a kid right? He had mommy and daddy issues, punched Minato as soon as he met him, cried like a baby when the edo tensei was dispelled on his dad. Then Naruto gets his dream job of Hokage! What's that? Job is too time consuming for you to spend time with your family. If only you could clone yourself. Naruto, if only you had one of the Tailed Beast inside of you, along with your huge Chakra as is. So why are you not making ONE clone to spend time with them? No problem making a harem of naked girls to stop the FV, but this is where he decides to ration the amount of clones he has available.

Yeah, of course, there is more than waging war. The problem is I just can't imagine how such a meeting works especially with Naruto as Hokage. Does Naruto actually do some decision making or does he just nod to everything Shikamaru says? Besides, how much influence has a kage in comparison to a daimyo? I just wished we would have seen a little bit more than 'Hey, let's start the meeting and do kage stuff now!'.
The Doors are excellent, who said they were bad?
!
But seriously the band really is great.
Woah, been out for a day and I have a lot to read in this thread…
Just a question that may have been answered already, did something show up about those supposed spoilers that were not shown in the manga? I mean Yamato liking big girls, Karin talking about Juugo going back to the forest, Orochi being off-screened, Mei and Shizune being married, Tsunade and the Raikage apparently "spending a lot of time together", etc.

Because even though you get all the memories of the clone back when its done, its not actually you personally spending time with someone. Its insincere and fake and its just hiring a babysitter… that happens to basically be you.
It's the same thing as reading a post on facebook and just liking it rather than actually responding to it. Sure it shows you read it, but it doesn't mean you put any actual thought or care or personal time into.
Would you send your girlfriend a card for Valentine's day, and then later try to pretend it was a full blown all expenses paid full day together and a night on the town? Nope.
Naruto doesn't send clones to interact with his family because they're FAMILY. They're more important than deceiving or giving a brush off excuse of bonding. Makes the time they DO have together better quality when it's legit.

Ray: Sigh, What's up Jim?
Jim: Do you get Love me two times?
Ray: Yes Jim.
Jim: Cause, Cause, It's not only one time Ray! She will love you two times! And one's for later!
Ray: Yes Jim.
Jim: Cause love is not physical but much more. Did you get that Ray?
Ray: Yes Jim, I got it.
Jim: I'm Pretty Deep.
Ray: Where are your pants Jim?
Jim: And you about The Other side? You can break through it!
Ray: Have you been sniffing glue again Jim?
Jim Drops to the floor and starts moving awkwardly
Jim: I am the LEEEEEEZARD KEEEENG.
Thanks, just wanted to have things clear.

Surprise ending made this.

I….i kinda like the ship of Franky X Robin
Runs
They have some chemiestry, but that's true of almost every combinatory of the crew.
They had the most "sexual" encounter in the crew yet. I don't think that robin would have grabbed anyone else's balls (hell, I still find it weird and atipical that she grabbed his!)
They are thematicaly the dad and the mom of the crew.

So… let the clone work? The thing with the shadow clones is that they are poorly defined as "also naruto", there's no real world comparation.

Clone is not real thing…add to the fact that in their last fight Sasuke teased Naruto saying his clone jutsu is a substitute for his lonliness..i guess down the line Naruto stopped using it unless necessary....
a busy father not giving enough time to his children is so commonplace today..Kishi himself as a busy mangaka goes through it too..it is a simple representation..

I think your logic is poor..it is true that ambition and family don't mix;but that doesn't mean people should not be ambitious to reach the top…all along the series Naruto's ambition had been to be Hokage..he reiterated it again and again...he achieved it..along with it he gained a happy family too(with all the normal problems that happens within a family)....he is managing it just like any father...so where is the fault..?
and the biggest point is why Kishi needs to show his daily chore as hokage?..it is not soap opera...general outline given in the last chapter is good enough and there will be mini-series with the kids where we will see more of father Naruto and Hokage Naruto..

He was not the only one with eye power in his clan..he managed to kill them(with the help of Obito) alright, but controlling them at his will would have been different ballgame..something beyond his power..
other than Mugen Tsukoyomi,no other jutsu has been shown to control the mind of a mass(though Shisui claimed his Kotoamatsukomi could do that)…
Also, as a self-anointed music geek, I'll say that I think The Doors are pretty damn great.

Kermit the frog killed my parents.
And he stabbed Ms. Piggy multiple times. No wonder she's so dead set on marrying him.
I got to admit, naruto wasn't my fav series
I didn't like the character because he was a moronic idiot and then treat as hero super mega ultra jesus or how people used to call him in this threat
not all the characters where development
and the spin off nicknamed the real naruto, we know something wrong
but to be honest, I enjoys some parts:
the all narotu and sasuke stuff was soooo annoying
and I fink most off the comments here say all the problems in this series
I stopped watch the anime because I had to much fillers
but I decided to watch when the last episode will air from 383 to get a final closer
cause I really but really glad its over!!!
