@I:
Luffy and company have always struck me as the types who would despise that sort of behavior. It'd be weak to literally steal ideas from someone else, I think, in their eyes. (And I do consider it different from the way Luffy developed his gears from watching CP9. That was him learning from battle situations. Completely different.) They have a great deal of pride in who they are and what they do, both as a group and individually–they will train and learn from someone, or develop techniques in the heat of battle from what they learn there, but outright stealing ideas and techniques written on paper or something like that? Nah, I don't think so.
I could easily see nami or robin stealing stuff from the marines. I only brought up rokushiki cuz the marines seem to use it and if the strawhats were gonna get their hands on it the new hq would seem to be the ideal place to get it. I never said they should use the techniques but its never a bad idea to supplement. If the vice admirals could supplement rokushiki into their normal techniques then I dont see why the strawhats can't.
The ideal form of rokushiki is mixing up the techniques to suit your ideal style like Lucchi does. Lucchi can fly and do all kinds of stuff that the others couldn't because he mixed them freely. It seems kind of similar to how after learning the basics of haki you focus on the one that suits you (your personality) best.
In the end, it was just an idea, if the strawhats don't learn rokushiki there's no problem but it'd be interesting if they also had rokushiki to learn in addition with haki. (I know this is off topic but I felt I was supposed to respond)
P.s. One more thing, luffy learned a substitute for soru by watching, but if he knew the strategy behind the actual technique it might help him to enhance the substitute he already has. Not saying he didn't get the gist of soru earlier but a proper explanation might yield better results.
