We know we are desperate at this point. I think that Funi's new Dub would be great for Toonzai as they promised "Edgier" anime and that One Piece could be a success if done right.And besides, most of you guys dont watch the anime anymore so it cant hurt that much.
As long as they keep releasing the DVDs (though I need to catch up :ninja: ) I don't really care if it's on TV or not. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to be able to watch it but it's kind of inconsequential. And I don't think that just shoving it onto some random network just because you want it on TV is a good idea.
I just want to know your feelings on this,you guys. Im fine with OP being DVD only… But it doesnt hurt to try.

I dunno, it's been a long time since it got taken off of Cartoon Network and since then "Naruto" and "DBZ" have found new homes on television. If it was popular enough it would've gotten back on T.V. by now, but it can't really get more popular if it's not on television in the first place. It's certainly been doing well what with the simulcast and manga speed-up. I think the best bet is to let a T.V. know you want "One Piece".

I think that Toei's relationship with Nick has grown thanks to DBZKai and Power Rangers Samurai.
Disney XD would be good too, but Nick would give the show more exposure.
My stance is that as long as they only censor it, I'm fine with it…..though "Other World" is incredibly lame....I mean come on...we have disney deaths. You don't hear them saying something like that when someone dies.

Yep think so, they just can't actually refer to anything as death or dying so yeah, they just use the name of the after life in that world.

They're pretty uptight when it comes to violence, alcohol, death, etc. I remember in the first Shippuden episode aired on XD, they cut out Sasuke's sword and words like "kill" or "dead". One Piece has a lot of content that would have to be edited and cut out, so Disney is a no go.

Point is, who of us here has enough of "Naruto Shippuden" on Disney XD and "DBZ Kai" on Nicktoons to know with certainty which is more lenient? I mean regardless of which of the two it may go to it will be subject to censorship. I'm under the assumption Disney XD is better in terms of letting "One Piece" get away with more since they air "Shippuden" TV-PG whereas "Kai" is edited to Y7.

I haven't really seen most of the Shippuden episodes on XD or Kai on Nicktoons to get a good idea of which network is better suited for One Piece.
But they're both channels for kids, so there will be edits and removals, but don't some of the Shippuden episodes that air on XD which between TV-PG and Y7?
I think Nicktoons is better, because they would air One Piece many times a day.
To tell the truth any TV exposure right now is better then none. In reality One Piece being on TV isn't for my sake but for the sake of getting more One Piece and anime fans. Younger the better. I won't be around to support Funi/One Piece forever (I hope to be around until all of One Piece is on DVD but you never know) so we need a newer generation to do that for us. If an edited One Piece can help then good.
Also it isn't like Funi is going to be releasing edited DVDs with the edit anyways. Kids watching One Piece on TV is good. I do prefer it to be on a different network but anything is good at this moment for me. I record it to see how it goes but I am sure there be kids who love One Piece if they never seen it before since not all kids know about the magic of online streaming or cool older brothers(/family members).

The S&P people are usually pretty damn obtuse, so you can slip suggestive stuff by them quite easily (much like the video game's ESRB board). They only really notice overt violent/sexual content, and don't really grasp subtext very well.
Anyone know who handles the editing of the content for DBZ Kai? Is it a group within Funimation or does a third party get involved?
For the record, I think the mushroom thing was actually handled well considering (it didn't look all janky like the edits the Ocean Dub of DBZ employed), though the bizarro Gohan eye thing was pretty embarrassing (though animation errors like that can be found all the time both in Japan and abroad).

I really doubt that was FUNi's mistake. That line wasn't even read by one of their voice actors. It was by Jason Griffith, a 4Kids VA. 4Kids likely did that whole bit themselves without consulting FUNi on it since it was just a small recap.

I believe from what I been told by one of Funi's people on Twitter is that CW4Kids review the episodes and then send a list back of things that Funi needs to change in order to air on CW. When it comes to Nicktoon's edits they have a rep there with them and explaining the edit or at least talking over how to edit it.
No, I wouldn't want Toonzai to air One Piece. That would be asking for trouble.
So they get a list of things that need to be edited by the network, and they handle them in-house. I'm guessing a lot of the fubars like what was posted earlier are due to time restraints (they gotta rush out these edited episodes asap).
After seeing those Dragon Ball edits, I'd love for One Piece to be on Toonzai. It would be funny.
