Haki, Gears, and Oda…Oh My!
And a few personal opinions on the discussion topics:
1. Partial Second Gear. I hope Oda has an explanation that is consistent with the faster-blood-circulation-explanation. The Question is, i_f the doping effect was caused by the faster circulation or the higher amount of pressure on the veins or the higher amount of blood per second. For the first two cases, it would be possible to make a partial gear 2.
All Luffy would have to do, is shrink the veins in his arm (smaller diameter, same blood per second = fastercirculation and higher pressure. Physics Bitches). For the more blood per second-Theory I can't come up with a consistend explanation._Uh I didn't see a question…but the whole shrinking the veins idea is plausible...but to think Luffy has such control over his VEINS?... Having control of the pumping of his blood is WAY different than being able to expand or contract your veins at will...that's some serious skill and control.
But there is another explanation. Luffy just used his arm instead of his legs to pump. By shorten and lenghten his arm.
This would also explain how he jumped so high so quickly.When Luffy activates his Gear 2, normally, he would pump his legs…pumping his arm IS possible but we did not see him hold onto something so that he could pump his arm...I don't think he can pump his arm without placing his hand on a solid surface.
Luffy jumping High and Quick doesn't necessarily have to do with Gear 2. Luffy can jump high because he is made of rubber and so he can spring himself, it may have seemed that he jumped quickly but notice when the Pacifista was heading for him...he said "Slow" which could very well be CoO...When Luffy was fighting Sandersonia and she was using CoO to dodge his Gatling...she didn't have Gear 2 and she was moving her "waist" pretty fast...
so is it s safe to say 602 = get of the island 603 = finally reach fishman island
604 = jinbei's in trouble??? 605 = a sick fight that shows the crews abilities?

sentoumaru just stunned by watching luffy knocked out PX5 with his haki, maybe he thinks that luffy is beyond his level… luffy rulez!!!
The only thing that was seperating Luffy and Sentoumaru was the understanding of haki. With haki Luffy could have probably beaten him before the time skip.
A bit like Crocodile. Without water Luffy was too easy for Croc, but with water Luffy was superior in combat skills. Luffy's combat skills are very good, and with the right attributes he could beat most people. However he hasn't developed the combat skills to beat anyone Admiral level yet, or probably even Yonkou first mate level.

I completely disagree. Having an enemy you at least partly understand is, I think, a better story than some guy you can write off as "evil asshole" and just beat him up.

Hitting a Tenryuubito and escaping an admiral, breaking in/out of ID with lots of convicts, being one of the main forces during the great war, being officially announced as Ace's sworn brother + Dragon's son, going back to marine HQ and ringing the bell 16 times (which was taken as a declaration of war),… (not counting the event in Thriller Bark which is to be hidden to the people)...

With haki he can attack, the problem is that he literally can't defend. Haki keeps a logia's body solid, it doesn't protect from the logia's ability. Akainu can just launch a bit of magma from his body whenever he attacks, he might get hit but Luffy would still be killed.

Yeah basically they both know how to use that type of haki but the only difference is that how strong you've got… like rayleigh said to luffy that he further refine his strength... and sentoumaru saw that difference...

To be fair, the 100 million increase isn't that unbelievable. What Luffy did is of a similar magnitude to Enies Lobby. Luffy got up to 300 million because he was willing to attack a government installation and declare war on the World Government. That's pretty much exactly what happened at Impel Down and Marineford, so it was more or less covered by his original bounty. They didn't have to increase by a whole bunch because it was the same type of thing that he did earlier, just that he did it again. I guess attacking the World Nobles also influenced the increase as well.

Well, now there is this thing called "colour of armor" that should also help against magma…
The radiant heat of magma will cause damage. But CoA still won't let you walk on magma when Akainu melts the entire battlefield.

As sentoumaru has joined the marine from another department, the likelihood that magellan could join the marines are there. And if so, is he perhaps the new admiral, at least he is the only government affiliated (that is not a shicibukai) that is nearly as overpowered as the admirals

You are over estimating how strong Luffy is right now, compared to someone like Akainu. He may have haki…he may be lightning fast...but that means fuck all.
Akainu is Admiral. He was a Vice Admiral...before Luffy was even born. He is vastly more experienced, he'd own Luffy big time. Oh and he also has HAKI. Also, we've yet to see any of the Admirals really go 'all out' in a fight.
