Because Nami was created before Zoro. Her previous version appeared in the first two version of Romance Dawn. Originally it was quite Shounen typical: a stupid crazy male protagonist and a female protagonist with common sense.
Nami is based on a character used in one of the Romance Dawn one shots.

Well, in the two Romance Dawn stories Oda did before One Piece, Luffy was teamed up a some girls who were likely proto-Namis. She may have been the first crew member that he designed.

I don't remember saying it did. However, after a 4 week break I don't want to see anyone bitching moaning and complaining about the chapter. This chapter was great. The crew is almost reunited. Can't someone of us enjoy it with having people mindless bitch and moan and cry every five seconds?
I wonder if Oda strategically blocked Zoro's arm with Luffy's leg and the ONE PIECE logo to create all this controversy about Zoro losing an arm lol. I'd probably do that too if I was the creator and cackle evilly while imagining the hundreds of outraged posts that spawn on forums like these.

Not everybody is going to be 100% happy with this chapter, and that is alright. Most people aren't. It's not like they're saying "This chapter sucks! Oda totally screwed it up, One Piece is ruined!" so really I don't see how this is excessive.

So Rayleigh left as soon as the basics were done, and haven't seen Luffy in six month.
Mangastream got Rayleigh's speech wrong (he says he hasn't seen him in half an year), and I got Luffy's speech wrong.
Still no idea on the bounty for the two brothers Caliboo and Coriboo. MS probably has it right, they have a clean raw.

After looking at this chapter, to all those who thought that Oda couldn't pull off a time skip, go eat your own crap.
In the panel were Nami is pulling Usopp out of the bar…how is she making the Cloud Bubbles? One hand is on Usopp and the other carrying her shopping bags....and I can't see her Clima-tact. I'm not trying to find something wrong with the chapter...honestly I'm not. I'm just sooooo interested in Nami's fighting style...I get really excited thinking that she BLEW UP A BUILDING with out giving it much thought....when she usually focused soo hard to make Thunder Clouds.
