It is not too far a stretch to think they took some seastone cuffs with them out of ID. BB never has to handle them because he has a big crew and we know distance does not cause the effect because of smoker.
But Bonney's powers must have some kind of limit or something, maybe they do not work on strong-willed people, maybe once affected by BB's powers they negate, who knows.

I hate to tell you guys, but Akainu isn't the kind of guy to just capture a pirate. I mean he didn't give the marine that fled from the battle a stern talking to, or the civilians that fled from Ohara a prison sentence, and he DEFINITELY didn't just capture Ace and put him back on the execution platform.

Do you think Sakazuki would kill someone who his superiors really want alive. And said person is important to the plans and goals of said superiors.
More importantly, do you think Oda would kill off Bonney here despite his previous writing history and Bonney's increased importance.

That's because Robin was worried about her crewmates, and she's level-headed enough to realize that Aokiji might be too lazy to destroy them.
Bonney's crew, on the other hand, has already been trashed by Blackbeard, and Bonney is hotheaded enough to get pissed off at Akainu, who would probably kill all of her crewmates regardless.
Also, Akainu might like killing things that defy justice, but if his superiors want someone alive then they'll get them alive, though maybe slightly damaged.
Even though I trust Oda, I'm a little worried that One Piece fights are going to tread into the JRPG territory. Nami could basically be becoming a wizard (she is training with a guy with a long robe and beard for god's sake), and Chopper and Sanji seem to be learning "support" type abilities with their food and medicine…

I just love how Oda gives us these seemingly bland islands and just expands on their culture giving a rich feeling of diversity.

That would not be a twist, it would be a development. For it to be a twist both of those characters would need to be firmly established with evidence pointing to the contrary. Furthermore, there is no reason it would be a bad development. A personal reason for hating pirates, such as a disobedient, rogue daughter, would add depth to Akainu's character, making him more than "grr pirates bad, pirate SMASH".
If you need to be condescending at least try and be right too.

Yeah, a lot of people are guessing this. I'd be alright with it, I suppose. But if this is the case, you have to wonder how old Bonney really is and how long she's been fleeing taking into consideration how old the Five Elder Stars appear currently. Man, and for someone to be doing something so important, you'd think her bounty would be more than 140,000,000 Beri. Wonder if they made sure to cross "Dead" off of "Dead or Alive"?

Kizaru, for example, is based off of a famous Japanese actor, but that only affects how he looks. You know, this chapter suggests that Bonney will be more important as a character rather then a leader of a pirate crew. The whole supernova thing could just be a way to get noticed then transition into some other storyline. Her crew is really pretty worthless, they've never had any facetime.
Of course, the same could be said with the other supernova other then Kidd and Law, but these crews so far as least do things as a group. Whereas when Bonny's crew was defeated, she along with the BB pirates and Akainu took center stage.
