He put a rifle to Kizaru's head and told him not to move, that was a pretty badass thing to do. Unfortunately it was like two panels and surrounded by much more intense action so people forgot about it.

Well, Aokiji took his attention and then Kizaru took that chance. Did you expect him to shoot Kizaru before Shanks said anything and add oil the fire and war some more until everyone got killed?

Still, I agree that they need to do some more. For someone who just got 6 panels yet almost equal Moria, and surpassed Paulie last year, he is insanely popular.

Benn Beckmanns potential is what makes him rather popular, potential is a powerful force. When some characters lose their potential they lose their popularity. Dragon has the same element, he has probably appeared less than hotori and kotori ( panel wise though I havent counted) but he is immensly popular while hotori and kotori arent even in the competition. If a character has a cool appearance and very high potential, being the leader of the revolution or the first mate of a younkou he gets to be very popular.

Because while wanted posters remain active even after death, Moria's only "officially" dead. The frozen bounty of a shichibukai was innapropriate, and an open unfrozen bounty on a "dead" man wasn't quite right either.

So I took the route that amused me the most.

There's always room for surprise, but I tend to think that it'll be one of those Texas Chainsaw Massace matches like Kuma vs. Doc Q and Garp vs. Yokozuna.

Well Zoro/Hancock and Nami/Law may be close ones

Zoro beat Hancock last year by 46% of the vote; it'll be interesting to see how much has changed since then. I'm guessing that he'll win the rematch by at least 20%. Law lost to Usopp last year by about 25% of the vote; it seems likely that he'll do quite a bit better against Nami this year. She's one of the weaker Straw Hats and one with relatively little screen time at that and he's had a lot more development since then. No chapter next week doesn't help her out any either; any extremely early spoiler might though.

Eh… I'll say a 10-19% win for Nami.

and i'm hoping the Crocus/Shanks will be as well.

I hope Crocus edges out Shanks by one vote if for no other reason than it'd be Shanks, Beckman, and Lucky Roo in that exact order in the Percentage Listings.

but, tomorrows match is kind of good,
a little chance to take another SH from the tornament
or a chance to take the worst SH form the tornament
