I dunno. I actually kinda liked this chapter. Sure the beginning wasn't very funny and Kana's still a supreme bitch for what she did and Natsu and Lucy meeting was kinda forced but voodoo guy's powers were pretty interesting and the basic principle itself of Natsu and Lucy teaming up is the sort of match-up twists that make some good fighting…except now come to think of it they're ALWAYS matched up in every arc which kinda undermines the whole thing...erm least voodoo guy's powers and sumo theme were neat?

This whole arc should have been a Sabaody/sasuke retrieval arc, that made the most sense but it doesn't seem it's going that way now, probably thought it was easier to do the same old boring thing

Finished watching the latest episode. Okay, Daphne operating that Dragonoid with Natsu as the power source reminds me of Faust operating his mecha-dragon. I'm even now starting to suspect that Daphne might be an Edolas agent.

By the way, Plue's dance-off against the mimigator was the best part of that episode.

Rave and Fairy Tail's character bear resemblances to One Piece's NORMAL looking characters, but they rarely ever made ODD looking characters. Or at least as much as One Piece.

And those are the characters people in this forum just eat up. The odd ones. As apposed to the normal ones. Hence why Kain is interesting.

I just used One Piece for an example because it's the series where I see that the most. Most of the odd characters are considered great here, while the normal ones are "boring".

In some cases I would agree with you, but not on the matter of Crocodile.

Crocodile is one of the - if not the - most popular Shichibukai by a lot on this forum, and DEFINITELY one of the most popular villains, right up there with Enel. You need only look at this forum's past few character tournaments for proof - the dude has taken down STRAWHATS.

For my part, I think Kain's design is awful. But owl headed Fukurou was pretty cool.

No people in this forum eat up good characters, you liking Mihawk more and people liking Iva more doesn't mean people hate Mihawk or all the other kool chracters that you probably love.

The aspect goes along with the personalitty, I found Kain funny right away aspect wise, yes because he was weird but if he fucking sucked as a characters I would still bash him, I though the atitude went pretty well with the funny/ridiculous aspect that he has and thats why I say I liked him, THIS doesn't mean I like him less then normal characters, that just means I like the dude because I think he was funny, Laxus/Gazelle/Gray are still my 3 favourite Fairy Tail characters and I can say a person with this 3 characters in is just as dumb as I called you before because basicly they are 3 characters with cool designs, with a badass atitudes but I can appreciatte other characters too.

Yes, there are odd designs that people love too. But there sure are whole lot of "non-Crocodile" exceptions to the loving normal looking humans rule. One Piece has an absolutely colossal cast. It's difficult to talk about all of them at once. But if I had to venture a guess, you're misinterpreting just what it is people love about the odd designs. People do love the odd looking designs. But people also love the idea of the odd designs, which are creative and inventive and stuff you really don't see in many other manga quite like you see in One Piece. It's the fact that they're here and used so liberally that people love, just as much as they love the designs of the characters themselves.

But they don't necessarily "prefer" the odd designs to the normal designs. That's just not true. There's a lot of love to go around.

And it's not just the designs that make the characters lovable, you know.

The question was for Silencer but ill answer too Law. Law, Kid and Hawkins(a weird one) are the only 3 supernovas I trully care about, the other just seemed like fodder/uninteresintg to me(with Drake maybe being an exception too), I do like all their designs though besides Bege wich always looked to me as not very one pieceish.

To be real? I'm not really on board with either.

Law's design is ok, he looks like Jamiroquai and I love that guy's music. He's a little Zoro-esque and he has that going for him. I like that he has a sword. But it's not enough to make me love the design. If we're just talking about designs. I think the character is alright, but I do NOT like how the fandom jerks off in their pants over him at ALL. A mark against him.

Appo's design is almost a little too much for me. It's the piano key teeth, really. The rest is interesting enough, though. His power is as interesting as the rest of the Supernovas, but that has nothing to do with design. Otherwise I'm fairly indifferent to Appo so far. Maybe he'll do something to change that.

I guess if forced to choose between Appo and Law, I'd chose Law, though it's a tough choice between two people whose designs I'm kind of meh about.

I like both odd and "normal" designs myself. It usually helps when it comes down to distinguishing characters in an already massive world. Oda uses different body shapes, expressions, or even the way the character moves to suit a character. Okubo(Soul Eater) uses a wide variety of unique face faults and weird design perps on even the most simple designs to create the mood that the manga is within the "twisted horror" genre.

Kubo's designs puts me sleep because the majority either looks the same or comes off as being bored 80% of the time. Maybe he intends to create a depressing atmosphere…

When it comes down to Mashama, his character designs are quite generic. I have to admit that I usually prefer his normal designs, because it seems he tries too hard to come up with something that looks and acts out of place(because in the end... it feels out of place). It's pretty damned disappointing for something set within a goofy fantasy setting too. Take a look at Dragonball's world for example.

It takes craft to create a world where everything first perfectly together. While Kain's design is a bit off, I appreciate that the character actually feels like it fits right in. I hope I see this more often.

True , most of his characters are generic guys with that l shaped nose that just reek of unoriginality. Look at Zancrow , or even Hughes.

I think Mashima's personal best in this series was Fukurou. A Muscle-man with an owl-head with a jetpack.

At least he's trying, here. Bleach is just: Take Haircut A-Z, add to face A-Z. Repeat. Naruto is almost as bad with: Take Haircut A-Z, add to face A-Z, add Accessory or Mask A-Z. Repeat.

I say Zancrow counts as a surprise Dragon Slayer, because REALLY? God Slayer?
And Gajeel has gotten more attention than Levi in her own examination, but I guess he doesn't really count a surprise backup in this case… (at least not until he gets healed somehow)
And we had manly tears the chapter before last, from Elfman, during Levi's herfderf UNITE speech.

Yeah, Zancrow was using sarcasm. And I don't think we can say Natsu won by a 1-time powerup considering Makarov said he found a new way to use his magic. If Natsu can do it more than once, then it doesn't count as one time.

Yes I understand to be fair we have to see him do it again for it not to be one time, but likewise we can't say it was only one time if he's only done it once within the same arc.

That was me. I chalked up his nervousness where he spoke slowly and then spoke really fast to be pressure buildup/release. Either way it works. I like his voodoo powers more, but pressure magic would have been fine. Air/Water pressure are deadly forces.

In this series, I (successfully) predicted that Edolas Lisanna was actually Earthland Lisanna (that's not really a power, but… just saying), I also somewhat predicted Zancrow using hotter flames, though my idea was Lava or blue-white flame, not the off-color "God Flames".

Eh, in general, when it comes to predictions, I have the best track record with KHR.

The point is 'Lucy fights another summoner' became true, she fought a summoner. Capricorn may have had his body taken over by Zoledo but it was still a fight.
