I knew that in this chapter some way of powering them up would be presented without even the need of natsu and the others have to actually train^^ I guess Kubos and Hiros trolling, make me develop better skills in predicting trolling xD But overall the chapter was pretty good, I enjoyed it. And am I the only one who laughed at the bubble that was coming out of Ultears hand, a bubble/sphere etc. that is going to inflict a lot of pain, because it reminded me immediately of someone?^^

Magic is inside your body and in the atmosphere
When you use up one supply the atmosphere replenishes you. So now their basically increasing the amount of magical power they can contain by forced evolution.That explanation was actually the best part of the chapter to me because it makes reasonable sense. Since we don't know how long time Eternano takes to enter the body, it explains finely how the characters can run dry of magic power in a hard fight and suddenly have magic power again even though they did not get the chance to rest. Simply because it's an atmosphere refill, not a "rest refill" like with physical energy.

What was Gerard's magic again? All I remember is the Flame of Forgiveness or whatever, did he ever specify his type of magic.
The Time-Arc Ass pull is a great way to tell the difference between how Togashi writes and how Mashima writes.
I am glad Ultear is back as well, a long with Erza and Gildartz her magic is pretty interesting.
EDIT:
Also, the second magic container is just a retcon for the Edolas conclusion. A good retcon, as it explains how they can still live with all their magic power drained. I hope using this second container will actually kill them.

New villians look ugly as hell, except for that creepy girl. Is that wolf part of her clothing or a separate character? Can't tell.
As for the chapter, I'm glad it had a lotta exposition to make up for the travesty of the fanservice and randomness of the previous two chapters. -

I do like the big long losed guy.
This is a good way to draw such a character. Not like he did with Racer, at all. I also like the monkey looking guy, even if I know he's almost certainly fodder.So I at least wanna see those two in this next arc.
Oh and btw, Bob. Please for the love of god, enter the tournament yourself. I don't know how you'd do it, but everyone in your guild so far has sucked major ass. Please just ditch these losers and do what you do best - being creepy and bald and fat and totaly awesome.

Yeah, that actually got a nice laugh out of me and the asspull was LOLtastic!!! The only problem is while that page was meant to be funny the powerup wasn't, but it was sooooo contrived and asspullish it could only bring about that one reaction.
I guess you can activate that second container through the power of friendship~ In all honestly this would explain some things in the past. Now, what could have been explained and likely looked at as pure and simple will power to wrench out every last magical drop of power to continue fighting (typical Shounen stuff) has now been turned into a literal plot device. Whatever, "tomorrow's magic" was a lot more fun to make fun of.

Chapter was okay. Lamia Scale's Guildmaster is really old and really ugly; The Raven Tail guild members look… interesting, and Meredy got HOT in the last seven years. Not sure how I feel about Ultear fixing their dilemma, but whatever. Internal Limiters and removing them have been done before to death in other series, even modern ones (Toriko has them, though the limiters in that series are removed by certain foods). At least she and Gerard are good guys, now. I also hope Bob participates in the tournament; him and Ichiya are the only non-bishonen of the guild and the only mages that didn't get curbstomped right away, though I do like Hibiki's magic. Maybe he's improved his ability with Archive in the last seven years.
I called it wrong, so long ago. I guess this needs to be changed.

One thing I wish Fairy Tail and other series would take a peg out of One Pieces book would the main cast.
I mean in most series, the main cast typically all look normal. You know nothing crazy about them and in most cases they all look "cool"
I mean look at the Raven Tail guild, or other say dark guilds especially in this series. They have plenty of crazy, weird, strange, unique looking people compared to the pretty boys on fairy tail. Same for Bleach, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, ect. None of these MAIN characters are anything out of the ordinary.
Yet then look at One Piece and the main cast includes Franky, Chopper, Brook, and ? Jimbei ? I mean these guys are totally strange and are what in other series we would see them as not the main cast, but as enemies for an arc.

Mashima thinks that first people developed eyes, and only much later did we evolve a connection between the eyes and brain? Or that we might suddenly discover a third kidney hidden in our body, that allows us to filtrate even MORE blood if we make a connection to it? For fucks sake /biologist nerdiness

so despite having sent them on a 3 months training camp, Mashima consciously nullified that, and switched it by strenght through powereup. I repeat: He had set it up so everyone could have gotten stronger by training and effort which would show some repercussions of the 7 year stasis, it was all there, but instead he just laughs in our faces and hands them a cheat sheet.
God DAMN he's a terrible writer.

I don't read Fairy Tail for the plot, just for having a fun time, and thus I'm growing a bit tired of people complaining about it (the plot) all the time. Honestly, guys, if you want a well-planned plot, then quit Fairy Tail and read something else (though people seem to pompously state that they are quitting often enough, but apparently that's mostly a bunch of idle "threats").
What I read it for, among other things, are the character interactions which are usually not too bad. So that's why your above-mentioned thing is what's bugging me the most. Ultear essentially made herself a mortal enemy of both Jellal and Meredy by brain-washing Jellal and destroying what Meredy held dear. She mentions that she wants to atone for her guilt now, and that's all fine, but I just can't see how she is being best friends with them now. Well, her conflict with Meredy was resolved before the timeskip, but I can't see how Jellal with his memory restored would ever completely forgive her or even work together with her. -
