They typically drag whoever they can get their hands on at the time into the recording booth to do the animal noises. The fact she's playing a Yagura Bull tells me she probably has a bigger role later in the season.

I also finished watching the G8 filler, too.
That almost confirms that those episodes will have dubbed audio on the voyage.

Oh, well, I retract my statement. We're no closer to confirming a dubbed opening. Man, I can't wait to hear Kokoro No Chizu- don't care about the ending themes. Never have. I think there's only been one or two that I liked.

Luffy vs Usopp would be my favorite. Save the Franky cover for later.
Considering how packed this set is with plot and characters, I'd be disappointed to see three straw hats riding on bulls.

It was roughly 2 weeks after Season 4 Voyage 1 shipped from right stuff that it could be viewed online, so do you think it'll only one more week for S4V2?
Depends on whoever is ripping these episodes & putting them online. I doubt they'd have a set date. Also, is it really a problem for you to be able to import/watch a US DVD?

The Funi panel isn't until like 1:30pm est this afternoon. We probably won't be getting any One Piece announcements, since we got that huge announcments of stuff back in Late July. So I don't expect anything One Piece related today.

They also managed to get the latest Mamoru Hasoda film, The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki. Hopefully this means we get Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island sooner rather than later.
Even if The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki sells well I doubt they'd pick up Movie 6 specifically just because it's Hosada's work. How well movies like Strong World sell will likely be the sole deciding factor on getting other movies.

Pretty much, though FUNi has been known to use lines like "From the producer/studio/creator/character designer/whatever that brought you _______" I doubt that'd be the case in a film entry for a series they're already releasing, although I think it would be if Movie 6 was a standalone film that had nothing to do with OP.

I can't understand why the licensing of these crossovers should be so difficult, whether it's Toei meddling as usual or Funi unable to get their act together on it. The only other issue is the casting of Brook, but that will have to be done within a year for Strong World anyway, so I hope they can get it together this time.

I think it because the Toriko and One Piece crossover are considered episodes of One Piece. Because on Hulu, those two speicals are counted into One Piece episode count, while it isn't considered as episodes of Toriko in the episode counts of Toriko.
I get the feeling when FUNimation licenses the Toriko movie (and by extension the eleventh One Piece movie), they'll include the specials with them. Hopefully FUNimation would have the facilities to handle 3D Blu-Ray when that happens.
As far as specials go, I don't care much about the Toriko crossover and Toriko double feature thing. I'd prefer all the other specials.

I was able to get Season 4 Voyage 2 at NYCC this weekend for 30$! I've only watched a little of it, but what I've seen is good so far.
Toriko Episode 1 is the first half of the Toriko X One Piece Crossover. The first 30 minutes is considered Episode 1, but FUNimation for whatever reason could not get the distribution rights for the 2 crossovers. The situation is a little complex, since in Toriko's case, FUNimation simply skips the crossovers, (meaning Episode 1 is skipped over, and Episode 2 is renamed Episode 1 on FUNimation.com, the same goes w/ the sequel crossover), while with One Piece, the episode is skipped over but the episode count stays the same. Then we get a disclaimer saying that the episode in question was a "special airing, and will not be available for viewing".
Following the continuity of the Toriko simulcast, I assume they would start with Episode 2 and title it Episode 1, with every subsequent episode number being one-less. Therefore the first set will contain Episodes 2 - 14. I would love to see the actual 1st episode on there though.
Regardless, since FUNimation decided to keep the One Piece episode count intact, they will have to dub the specials eventually; unless they want to exclude those episodes from the DVD set with the same disclaimer mentioned above. It's complicated…

Sounds interesting! Or they might renumber the episodes on the DVDs- I wouldn't count that option out just because of the simulcast.

The funny thing is the first time I heard his voice at the end of episode 226, I was like "Umm…" I don't know, my first impression for some reason wasn't good. But then after listening to the first half of 227, I was instantly sold and I realized that this is how Aokiji HAS to sound in English. He just can't sound any other way in my mind after listening. It's funny how you can pull a complete 180 in the course of 10 minutes.
So, yeah, I finally finished watching the set. I didn't watch it all in one go this time around because I wasn't exactly super excited for the filler episodes. Granted they weren't terrible episodes, but I don't think they're higher up on my list of One Piece filler arcs compared to G8 or Ice Hunter. Well, the few good things that came out of the two Foxy fillers were hearing Foxy and his pals one final time until after Thriller Bark and (wait, he appears in that Grand Jipang filler at one point), as well as hearing the old flashbacks redone for the widesccreen video. There were definitely some funny moments in the filler, but the real fun for me came from the end of Davy Back Fight, Aokiji, and of course the first episode of Water 7. They NAILED Kokoro and Chimeny. In fact, I like the dub voices BETTER than the original and when you do that, you know you're doing a damn great job dubbing a show. I'm pumped to hear Franky, Iceberg, Paulie and the rest of the new cast coming to us in December. I'm totally pumped and already have it preordered, even despite not buying too much due to a coming move.
I'm sure you've all said this, but can I just reiterate how great it feels to not only have this show in the hands of people who give a damn about it, but people who actually like and follow the series/manga. Well, at least Sonny said he's far ahead in the manga, and I can only assume he's in Fish-Man Island with the current releases, which is just damn awesome that he cares enough about Usopp and the story to go that far. You can just hear how much effort is put into the dub and I can say I'm proud to have official, legal copies sitting on my shelf that I invested into. I know it sounds pretty cheesy, so sorry for that, but I'm just having a serious fanboy moment right now as reality that we are getting Water 7 dubbed very soon, something I was starting to think would never happen for a while.
One thing for me on a slightly less giddy side is Arlong's dub voice. I don't think it's bad at all and it does fit, but out of all the dub voices, he's one of the few I just don't like nearly as much as the Japanese voice. I'm not sure what the reason, but there's something about the Japanese Arlong's voice along with his laugh that is absent from the dub that stands out to me more while Arlong's dub voice wasn't nearly as memorable to me. I'm not bashing or anything and I still enjoyed the VA's work, but that's just me being a bit nitpicky about one of my favorite arcs. I'm just curious what your impressions on his dub voice were since I don't remember the discussion around season one and his flashback in the recent filler reminded me of my thoughts.
I picked up S4V2 today, and am watching vigorously.

One thing I noted, too, was that in Aokiji's final scene on the set where he's riding his bike, in the Japanese soundtrack, he apologizes to the dolphin as he's riding by, but nothing on the English track….wonder what happened there.
He does that in English in episode 225.
In fact, everyone must be so busy avoiding the filler, that I never saw anyone mention that we not only see Aokiji for the first time in episode 225, AND hear him speak for the first time, but we also get our second English scene with the Five Elder Stars. I know of that scene from the manga, but didn't know it was animated into 225, cuz this is my first time seeing these.
Chopperules I feel the same way about Funi's One Piece enthusiasm.
I don't watch any other Anime, not religiously like One Piece anyway. How are these same actors on those DVD commentaries? I can't imagine them being this enthusiastic about everything.
The first cartoon commentary I ever herd was from Funimation's One Piece. I thought wow, I gotta hear more from other shows. Listened to Spongebob and few other things and I couldn't believe how boring and uninterested they sounded. We really are lucky to have this team working on the show.
Their potential voice acting and love of the series is the only thing that will get me through SOME of the Impel Down, Marine Ford, and later Fishman Island episodes.
