I expect around October or November a "good news for One Piece fans soon" type of announcement.
If it's not this year, I expect it around the time the collections are finished.

You guys do realize that they don't have to make the announcement at a Con right? In fact the only time I can ever remember a One Piece announcement at a con was when they were announcing they got the rights to the series initially.
I could totally see them making a post on their blog saying that the deal finally pulled through and having some contest to celebrate it. Not trying to sound like a jerk or anything, but if we do get an announcement at a con, I don't think it'll be for a while.
That's why I was never in 'WHICH CON WILL IT BE?!' crowd. I've been patient, and it will come. Unless a deal completely falls through (signs are pointing towards: unlikely) we will get more.
Now just think if they only got Season Four and no more, we'd have to do this little dance all over again.
i dont think we will hear an announcement after collection 8 it comes out september or november of next year i say early next year
My bet is sometime before the end of the year. One piece is too big (popular) a show for funimation to drag their asses with the licensing unless it toei dragging their asses.
'Toei dragging their asses' is pretty much the assumption at this point.
I am honestly wondering how Mike knows when FUNi will announce more episodes. I think he just has just already started dubbing them lately but has too keep his mouth shut about it..I mean we haven't gotten a interview with the cast all summer! There is a good chance they just started dubbing season 4 lately!

please don't get my hopes up!
I'd be careful, last time we thought we had good news about Season 4 was when there was an assumption made about what Mike McFarland said. Better to just wait and see then make inferences from a word or two made on the fly.
I LOVE how the logic of some people here is.
"Since all One Piece announcements have been made in the internet/FUNi blog, the next One Piece announcement will be made in the internet/FUNi blog."
Doesn't anybody find something wrong about this way of thinking?
One Piece isn't in the same place it was 4 years ago. It has become more popular, and it has gotten a lot of fan support that has captured Funimation's and even Viz Media's attention(One Piece Podcast, gatherings, etc.). One Piece is bigger than it was before, and just because all past announcements (which was years ago) where made on the web doesn't mean it will be the same this time. Funimation has received questions many times about the next season for One Piece on the web and in cons, if they're making an announcement for the next season I believe they will make it a big one, not just a simple blog post.
Well do you think we will get the movies too besides movie 8 which we already got….
I want season 4 onwards and all the movies that haven't been dubbed yet.
The thing is though is that Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is much more popular than One piece...I don't understand why when this show is in the 500's and that show only made it to episode 64....
I was in Best Buy roaming around not buying anything and saw the One Piece Collection 1 sitting on the tiny shelf of anime they have. At least 6 copies just sitting there on the shelf. I couldn't belive it.
Hope is still in the air!

It might have something to do with the Fullmetal Alchemist manga being only 27 volumes and One Piece's manga being over 60. But I don't know. [sarcasm]

It might have something to do with the shut up.
Firecrouch, can you please ban Lil Kis from this thread for a few days weeks months?
Eh, I don't like to comment on that out in the open, even if it may seem obvious how I feel. I want to keep the topic on track after all.
With that said, I don't have that kind of power, but if I feel it needs to be done, I can get the ball rolling. And I'm keeping my eye out.
I sometimes think Lil Kis is Mike McFarland or someone else from Funimation, trolling us all. After all, he`s atleast really pushing "Bring us Season 4" initiative.
I'm so glad I'm not torturing myself by reading this thread often. :)

You are a good man for that. You probably should wait till the thread title changes to read this thread. XD

I am literally so close to being on the same boat as you.
What am I doing wrong to get banned anyways? I'm following all the rulez.
Back on topic though when does the next collection of One piece come out?
@Lil:

Collection 2, Episodes 27-53 September 27th
Collection 3, Episodes 54-78 November 29th
Collection 4, Episodes 79-103 Presumably January 31st 2012
Collection 5, Episodes 104-130 Presumably March 27th 2012
Collection 6, Episodes 131-156 Presumably May 29th 2012
Collection 7, Episodes 157-182 Presumably July 31st 2012
Collection 8, Episodes 183-205(6?) Presumably September 25th 2012
The dates for 4-8 are of course assuming FUNimation doesn't choose to accelerate or decelerate their time table.

It's not that your doing anything wrong. It's just that you post things that aren't 100% thought out. And that kind of ignorance is what is getting people agitated. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but you might want the know what you're talking about more before you post questions blindly.

Rulez.
Always fun to follow.

Zach, these Futurama videos are awesome.

A bit late on answering this but I guess I mention this.
I do have an interview laying around with Mike and Luci from around March of this year. I don't remember all that was said but I do remember that Luci sounded as if she hasn't been in the booth for One Piece since they were done dubbing for what is on DVD now. A good sign of this was that Luci though they had dubbed up to the 300s or whatever she said during the panel. That is in fact incorrect since she said she wasn't sure herself during the panel and Mike corrected her during the interview.
Mike does know about Strong World so maybe they have/were looking at that. Then again Mike does keep up with One Piece anime in Japan so that may just mean nothing.

So does that mean he watches the simulcast episodes?

I think it has been said that him and Eric Vale are completely caught up on One Piece. They probably imported the DVDs for the gap episodes.
I wonder what Eric Vale's reaction was when he saw the recent episodes of Sanji on Kammabakka Island?
If I were Eric I would try to read the lines from the new episodes in my Sanji voice just for fun .

Well, we have to factor I said a interview IN THE SUMMER. There is still a chance they could have started dubbing in the summer.
If Mike seems to think we'll hear something good soon, then it probably means that Funimation and Toei have agreed that they want Funimation to continue dubbing One Piece. However, since we have not heard anything yet they are probably in disagreement over some other detail, possibly including price, what is included in this batch (X episodes and Y movies - I'm skeptical we'll see the TV specials but you never know), or some other detail that's transparent on our end but important on their end.

I think Toei has wanted FUNimation to do it for a while. If they have their finger on the pulse of things here, they'd know the fans are taking to it pretty well. I think it's just a matter of pricing and volume, or Toei wants to see how sales of Season 3 and the first Collection or two end up before coming up with a grand bargain to distribute more.
BTW, on an earlier subject, it seems that according to the latest ANN podcast, FUNimation upscales pretty much everything they put on Blu-Ray unless the Japanese distributor wants them to use theirs (or they have a native HD master to use in the first place.) This means if they really wanted to and Toei gave them the green light, they could in theory put One Piece 1-206 out on Blu-Ray if that's what the fans want. So if you want that, it could be something to ask them about at cons and maybe build some groundswell.
Right Stuf has Season 1 sets for only seven smackers.
Were some post's deleted in this thread? O_o
Yes thank God. ….
That's really cool. My S1v2 the box and one of the discs got kinda damaged during a recent move… Replacing it now might be in my best interest...
Better order fast, looks like the last printing for these set's.
Well I got Collection Two today. Same stuff as the first. Nothing noteworthy to report, just thought you'd like to know.
