It's such a small error. I don't care. I was just curious.
Funimation dvd discussion II ( UPDATED 8/4/12, FIRST POST FOR F.A.Q)
-
-
I'd actually be agitated if it wasn't included. It's really funny to see, and it's a defining moment of the arc (for me).
-
Quick question: Is it December yet?
-
Can't believe we're only a month away from (hopefully) getting this on RightStuf.
-
Yeah. I thought about that earlier today when I was calculating when I'd be done watching voyage 2. If it comes at the end of november, which is when i think it'll come, it's only four or five weeks away. if it comes as early as voyage two did, it'll be here in three weeks.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Clearly, I'm being too anxious in asking this, but, when do they announce February releases? I check rightstuf every so often so that I can order the next set asap.
-
With Strong World coming out how might chapter 0 be released? my personal theory is like a pack in comic with the DVD like other DVDs that do that or preorder bonus

FUNi does not have Episode 0. It was never given a home video release in Japan. When they announced Strong World they said they're trying to get Episode 0 but don't expect Toei to actually let them have it. And with them not having that I'm not sure they'd have Chapter 0 either.
-
One Piece Film Strong World: Episode 0 did see a very limited DVD release, actually.
It was a marketing tie-in between Shueisha, Toei and a company called House Foods.
You had to first buy their products (curry, IIRC), then order it by mail.Much like Romance Dawn Story, since Toei doesn't technically "own" Strong World: Episode 0 directly,
licensing it is a whole 'nother beast altogether. However, it's possible for the Chapter 0 manga to see a release in the States - just not thru FUNi.
Chapter 0 would most likely be released by Viz and distributed via SJalpha w/o a print release. -
I am guessing chapter 0 will be in SJ Alpha.
-
@LUFFY#1:
I am guessing chapter 0 will be in SJ Alpha.
Unlikely. It would be nice to have episode zero as a special feature, or a mini strong world chapter book, but I doubt we'll get either.
-
I really hope Voyage 3 comes out 3 - 4 weeks before it's street date from Rightstuf again like Voyage 2 did. I try not to get my hopes up but with whats on that set I just can't help it.
And I know this isn't the appropriate thread, but if you pre-order Toriko from Rightstuf you'll probably get it a week or two after One Piece: Voyage 3, so that's even more a reason for me to be excited. ^^

Excited more for Toriko than for WATER SEVEN? You're insane.

Trust me, I am definitely more excited for Water Seven. But getting Toriko just after getting Water Seven raises the excitement level by a lot.
-
Alright. I can breathe now.
-
I know it should go without saying, but it beats Voyage Two's cover out of the water
Naturally. Honestly, even though I get why they did it (seeing as the filler arc covered a majority of the set), I could have seen a cover with Aokiji VS Luffy working much better.
-
Hooray, my copy of Voyage Two finally arrived today!
…Meanwhile I'm still waiting for Voyage One and the last three 26-episode-collections... Which shipped over a month before Voyage Two did... Excuse me post office, what's taking you so long? :getlost: -
You might want to contact the post office. They may have lost it.
Turns out, the voyage three cover comes from the FUNimation shop. That's why it's only a thumbnail.
-

Good point. I just went and asked, and after several phone-calls I finally got the info I wanted… They received it on the 29th of September... and returned it to sender on the 16th of October.
So that's incredibly annoying. I just sent a mail to RightStuf asking if they could re-re-send it or something. Being that they only sent it back a week ago and imports from the US typically take a little longer than that to arrive at my place, I'm going to assume the opposite is also true and RightStuf hasn't actually gotten it back yet.

That happened to me once. Apparently because I left my apartment number off of the order. You gotta keep an eye on those orders, you could have had your DVD weeks ago.
-
I think I'd shoot someone if my Water 7 set was lost. I hope I won't be one of those people who get two disc 1's. Or Vice versa.
-
well after seeing that some of funimations december releases had been pushed back my heart very nearly sank. Thank god we are still having a water 7 christmas
-
I like the idea of a Water Seven Thanksgiving a lot better.
-
Currently re-watching all the previous sets in anticipation of Season Four Voyage Three (now on Whiskey Peak)…I still can't get over how cool Zoro is when he challenges Baroque Works. Just. So. COOOLL.
-
What? We have 205 other episodes we could be watching instead of agonizing over the next 12? I never realized…
-
Guys, I took a look at S4V2's cover and I think I know what was wrong with it, so I went in to fix and restore it in photoshop, and I think I did a good job. Check it out.
!
! Seriously, tho

-
Looks even better! Thanks, WTK!
-
…And with that all that's left is to wait a few weeks for the actual set to ship.
-
Really liking that cover, it pretty much has exactly what I wanted to be on there; Luffy vs Usopp in some capacity. Franky and the Merry are icing on the cake.
-
One thing I've noticed since the thumbnail was that this cover doesn't have the pirate skull border all the previous Voyages had. Guess they thought the cover was busy enough as it is.
-
Its either that or they'll fix it just before copies are shipped
-
Badass cover is BADASS!
-
thanks for the pic WTK. Now that i see it up close it just makes me like it even more, what awesome cover art cant wait to have this on my shelf!
-
Seeing up close, I not only see that Franky is a floating head (as pointed out previously), but also that the Luffy they used is in front of Usopp. If you look at Luffy's foot you'll see what I mean. It's more like Luffy is next to Ussop as opposed to him coming at Usopp.
Awesome cover though. The attention to detail on the Gum-Gum Gatling Gun looks amazing! Can't wait to watch this!!

I think the floating Franky head is just done for effect. That or they are too lazy to put in the rest of the body, though i like it this way. I cant really see a problem even if Luffys foot is slightly ahead of Usopp, it still looks as though he is attacking him.
-
It's most likely because the cover's busy enough and if you put his body in you'd have to position it behind the Merry, which would just not work since the characters are clearly meant to be placed above the background layer.
-
But why can't the covers look as snazzy as this? The Collection DVD covers have more substance than the Voyage season covers, but nothing special compared to the Japanese ones! The US covers are interesting, but always have elements which look out of place. The American illustrations are probably produced by someone with Toei, but who are they hiring?
-
They might do something like that when they do the complete season sets in the distant distant future.
-
I don't think Season sets will ever happen personally. A Season 2 set would be ridiculous.
-
I think we had a list going of consistency problems. It's pretty clear that FUNimation doesn't give a flying f*ck about consistency. Regardless, I'm not hating on this cover. It's fantastic.
I doubt we'll every get that high quality box sets for one piece. FUNimation occasionally puts out above par box sets (looks use ), but that's only really for some initial releases; their rereleases, more often than not, go down in quality. May I remind you of that 'under 30$' collections of other anime series? The cover arts for those were atrocious.
But yes, those Japanese sets look gorgeous. Even if some of the indside DVD cover art is somewhat questionable. (Shaded out aokiji, for example)
I'll miss the border, if it isn't there on final release, which i don't think it will be. By maybe it would've looked too busy, as Maron said.
And now that you mentioned it, the image does have minor depth problems between Luffy and usopp, if we want to get nitpicky about it.
And Usopp being in the side cover next to two Luffy's might bother me a bit.
Regardless of anything negative I have to say about this, I'll undoubtably be worshipping this set when it comes.

Has FUNi ever released a set that big? I don't think so. I know it would never happen, but I'd prefer an arc by arc set system.

Man, here I was liking the voyage three cover and you had to post that. Way to shoot the voyage three cover down.

It's unlikely, but not impossible.
If Madman can release an Uncut Treasure Box Set with 100 episodes, a complete Season 2 Box Set with 70+ episodes isn't that far-fetched. -

Yeah, but you never know…
I feel like a series as long as One Piece deserves complete season sets one day. One can only hope. -
If they haven't done it with DBZ by now, I doubt they'd extend the courtesy to One Piece.
-
I doubt FUNi would ever do complete season sets for One Piece. I mean 7 13 or so episode sets into 1? Not good on the wallet.
-
To my knowledge, the largest box set that FUNimation has released is the 64 episode complete DBGT set, there is also a 51 episode complete Soul Eater set released soon; so it would be plausible if season two were split into two sets. Although having said that, if you compare the prices of those sets then it would be cheaper to just buy the Collections anyway.
-
The new cover looks damn good up close. If all goes like usual, we should see these shipping out in a couple weeks or so, and I am pumped beyond belief. Luffy VS Usopp is also where I first started reading up-to-date in the manga, so it has a lot of memories for me.
-
What other arc has actually challenged the crew in such a way? The arlong arc was closest, but never on such a degree. This is the best arc, I think. I can't wait for it. I'm pretty sure ill watch these episodes ten times each.
-

They already have complete season sets for DBZ.
