To be honest Girafarig and Stantler need an evolution.
Also wobbufet maybe, with a name like Wobbugod :ninja:.
Also I wonder if the next game will be for 3DS.

So, is someone expecting a more complex plot for the game? All those new characters and that mystery character "N" (That i think could be either the bad guys boss or the champion, or both for a change) gave that feeling…
I bloody hope so. One thing thats been annoying me about the games is that they give us such a thin plot, when they could easily give us something more. I know Pokemon is about getting monsters to beat the crap out of other monsters, but a more complex storyline wouldn't hurt.
Oh yeah, and i'm loving the eagle too.
@Badass:
Like you all really care that what he did was illegal in Japan. You all seem more upset that he put a watermark there than his taking of the pictures.
It's got nothing to do with the watermark, it's the fact that WPM's a whiney bitch who thinks he's hot shit.
Also wobbufet maybe, with a name like Wobbugod.
Charizard evolving would be more likely…
The eagle can be named either Stephen. Or Colbert. There are no alternatives.

He's already a broken uber that is, flat out, overkill. He's already the only critter in the game that learns both physical and special reflection. Theres nothing you could do to improve him that wouldn't make him even MORE incredibly unfair, like adding even MORE HP.

I was going to name him Steagle.
I was thinking Steve. Just Steve.
Serebii has some new info up, which pretty much confirms the thing I was expecting. The green "rodent" Kibago is dragon type meaning that it's destined to become the new major powerhouse of the fifth gen and a probable competitor to Salamence & Ttar.
Nice info besides the rules of 3vs3 wich i find retarded.
Damn Sugimori art is a big help to like a pokemon i was hating that black thingy until i saw the art it actually looks cool now.

I've been hoping a Sugimori artbook for ages now, he can truly now stand on his own as a game desingner, this generation characters have been awesome so far.
Love being right, but i love more the fact that we will finally get out of that bad boss cliche with N (At least it ponts that way) so he wants to split pokemon and human and set the pokemon free uh? Interesting…
@Pokebeach:
…one of the screenshots shows him saying that he wants to split humans and Pokemon and divide them so that the world is black and white
That racist N… trying to segregate the world...

3 on 3 rules sound like they apply some traditional rpg group physics to it. Its cool, it means you can put a tank or a powerhouse in the middle… and also helps diminish the threat of making moves like surf completely overpowered.
And you can switch positions mid battle, which means you can shuffle a ground critter over to deal with an electric.
Of course, its moot if it works out like double battles in the past, where you have maybe 10 of them in the whole game. (Barring going through a cave with a partner, in which case you don't decide the team ANYWAY) Hopefully it happens enough there's actually a reason to build a team based around triple battles.
@robbybedfart:
3 on 3 rules sound like they apply Dragon Quest boomerang/whip physics, where the attack will hit left to right, doing the most damage to the one in the lead, and less to the one in back.
Which is really the only way to go, or else surf and the like that hit entire groups would become incredibly broken.
It also means you can put a tank in front to guard the rest of the group some.
Thats how I understand it anyway, I could be totally wrong.
It's my understanding that, for the 3 on 3 field of Pokemon:
[a] **[c]
–-----------
[d] [e] [f]
Pokemon A, from it's position, can only attack Pokemon D and E, with F being out of it's range. Likewise with Pokemon C, D, and F, who cannot hit the Pokemon on the far side away from them. Pokemon B and E, however, being in the middle, can hit all 3 of the opponent's Pokemon. Also, if B or E use a move like Heat Wave (which in a 2 on 2 hits both opponents), it'll hit all 3 opponents, whereas if A, C, D, or F would use it, it would only hit two due to their placement and range.**
I understood it more like Golden Sun, where you can choose the center of the attack and then it spreads out. I doubt there will be enough attacks, though, that make use of the system to think so much of it. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I'm just a pessimist.

yeah, I was still going off yesterdays updates. read the new one and changed my post accordingly. But that seems about right.
But yeah… it'd be nice if things like say, Plusle and Minun actually worked together. Instead of just in theory. Abilities and special attacks are useless when they only work .01% of the time.
So N wants to set the Pokemon free from people?
Hm, this sounds like it could be a really cool plot.
Especially since N sorta sounds like a good guy with his views.

Lame.

I'm actually interested in how plus and minus will work 3 on 3. What if you have two pluses and one minus? Do the abilities stack on the minus?

That'd be interesting. Normally I'd say thats bound to be such a rare occurance it'd be an easy thing to overlook, but the gear things have the same ability.
I'd guess it'll just react in the presence of 1 though, and the other will be useless.
Things like lightning rod should still be in total effect.
And themed teams are going to make even more sense than they did before, like rain dance team.
Assuming 3 on 3 happens more than 10 times in the game. Uggh. hard to get excited about a dynamic that may never come up. It pretty much has to be able to happen in the wild too.
I'd love it if this generation legendary trio appears just in teams …
First you have to fight all 3 at once but you just can catch one of them ... after catching one the remaining 2 escape and then you fight the remaining 2 and so on.
And I totally agree that those 3 critter teams should appear in the wild as well.
I'm liking 3 on 3 battles more and more. It adds a neat new element of strategy to the games.
Unless, there's only about a handfull of in-game 3 on 3 battels. Then I won't even bother with strategy.
maybe they'll release a Colosseum/XD move and have a whole game full of them? You never know.
Personally I'm not sold on them. I HATED the 2 vs 2 battles so.

I think that would be pretty cool. I personally loved Colosseum/XD, so a new game in that sense would be awesome.
These new batch of pokes are really awesome. I like the look of that green dragon poke…he's probably gonna be another 3 tier poke like the others. Hopefully he'll be really good. I could like pick my entire team just from what we'#ve had so far.
Say, will any of you use the Dragon über tier in 3 vs 3 battles?
Up to now there are so much awesome critters I wann use … I really don't know :)
btw. Does anyone know how much new Pokes are in this generation? And how much are already known?
I was just curious

I think the grand total will be 650 after this, so 157 new pokes, including evolutions.
I think we know somewhere around 15. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

We know about 31 actually.
Hmm looking on that list there are pretty much psychic critters in this generation ^^
So we have 493 pokes from the first 4 gens and we already know of 31 from the fifth gen and that make a fabulous total of 524 pokes
It's gonna be a pain in the ass to collect them all …
Some rumour stated that with these new pokemons of the fifth generation the overall amount of pokemon species will rise to a dazzling total of 600 different.
Well we will have mroe then 600, we have 493 i doubt we arent getting more then 120 pokemons so.
Anyway official site update http://www.pokemon-sp.jp/series/bw/#/index.html

most generations since the first have been about 100 critters strong, actually. Second gen was exactly 100, third gen was 252-386, so it was 134. Fourth gen was 387-493, so it was 105.
107 to get us to an even 600 seems pretty reasonable, though they obviously havent cared about even numbers for a while, especially when you consider 9 of those are starters, a solid 10 are probably going to be legendaries, (how can they be legendary if there's like 50 of them) and then the usual handful of evolutions of old things. We already know about 30 critters, and most of them look like they have evolving potential.
It seems psychic type is going to be the new water type in terms of abundance.

Yeah i kinda failed in my math :ninja:, looked at the actual region dex and i forgot that the dexes have old pokeys also but yeah, i think we will still get 107 atleast to make it to 600 but i really wanted a 150 pokemons generation again or something around that number i mean like you said we already have like 30 revealed if its only 100 it will be a lot already revealed before the actual game comes out and will kinda cut the excitement still with so many new features the excitement would still be there, still in my hopes is atleast 120.
Theres some rumors about getting pokemons from old lines after the Ishu dex just like in Diamond and Pearl where we would only get Electrivire, etc after the league and seems like we are getting a bunch of babies after the league so if this is actually confirmed its one more reason to add more pokemons like i said some time ago one of the reasons i like and at the same time i disliked some of Shinno pokemons was the number of old pokemons having new evolutions i wont say they didnt need it but 25% of the dex was babies and evolution of new pokemons, they could have added a lot more originals since Sugimori when creating the first bunch of pokemons said that he had like 1000 pokemons designed at the time more then 10 years have passed im sure he has 10+ now or atleast perfected a lot of those 1000 he had before, the problem is ingame balance and movesets its gets kinda crazy with so many new pokemons to try to balance and give movesets to all.
Bobjr yeah they are showin a lot of them, this place doesnt really looks like having a lot of water pokemons and thats a plus since we have toons already i wanted a fire related region since in Shinnoh we only got Chimchar line, Magmortar and Heatran but it doesnt really seem like it so yeah some Dark and Psychic types would be cool.
Arghh i neeed this game, i just hope WoW cataclysm doesnt come out at the same time i want to have time to finish pokemon storyline before getting glued on WoW again, I WANT THAT CHIPMUNK!!!
Customizable trainers would be awesome
And pokemon fusion evolutions
Oh, you mean like Venustoise?
We know about 31 actually.
I stand corrected
I forgot about the screen shots.
And I typed 550 total in my earlier post, but I meant to type 650.
I don't know why but I thought I read that somewhere:ermm:
Plus my math was off.
Customizable trainers would be awesome

No,no,no,no,no i dont fucking want fusions in pokemon let that stay in digimon please it doesnt even fit that well in pokemon world urgh i hope they never do that.

lol was kidding around just wanted to see what people would say xD
I'd also like to see them make it to where you could combine to attacks for one uber attack (example: Hydro Pump + Thunderbolt = electric charged hydro pump)
That would be nice, team/combo attacks would be ok :D.
They did it some times already like Pikachu with Swellow doing a thunder armor attack, Buizel combining Ice in a Aqua Jet to make a Ice Aqua Jet i would like that implemented in the games, i dont know if they would do it in this generation but in the next one i can see them doing that if they dont start 4vs4 battles :P.
That new chipmunk pokemon, Minezumi, is awesome as hell.
Customizable trainers would be awesome
And pokemon fusion evolutions
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Pokemon should remain as is. No new concepts or ideas should be introduced that will change anything.
Customizable trainers would be cool though.
Pokemon fusions?
Why don't we have the trainers combine with their pokemon, like with digimon?
NO JESUS CHRIST.
EDIT: Ahh Getsuga already mentioned this.
Every handheld before D/P/Pl stucked.
Oh man, went to my dad's house, clicked on this thread and it brought me back to this post. Didn't even noticed the criticism I got for this. (though I still stand by this)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAnd Luvdisc evolves i never though they would give an evolution to the thing ive seen it all now evolve Farfetchd please gamefreak.

If Luvdisc seriously evolves, they better be doing worthwhile shit to compensate for giving that useless turd an evo.
Humm they are doing what they are supposed to do, give evolutions to useless pokemons but yes i hope they make him usable also, design wise im liking the evolution, i hope it actually is the evolution i remember when people started playing the game though Shellos was Lapras pre evolution and then the thing evolved into Gastrodon and people were like wtf? XD.

I really doubt even an evo could make Luvdisc useable, but if it does, I'll lay off.
I knew it was a matter of time until a "Shitty-Tasting Valentine's Candy" Pokemon showed up.
I dud it Valentrout.
