Those fakes looked awesome to me and way better than 90% of the 3rd gen pokemon.
Pokemon's Fifth Generation
-
-
3rd Generation was okay, but it unleashed the epitome of hackneyed upon us with Plusle and Minun.
-
Those fakes looked awesome to me and way better than 90% of the 3rd gen pokemon.
Oh damn! I wouldn't say all that. You must really hate the 3rd Generation Pokémon designs.
I'll say 3rd Generation ties with 4th Generation… with 4th Generation almost breaking the tie.
-
Almost a quarter of the 4th generation pokemon were just expansions of old evolutionary trees.
Edit: Upon actually counting, it's actually just over a quarter.
-
Oh damn! I wouldn't say all that. You must really hate the 3rd Generation Pokémon designs.
I never EVER completed a third gen game. I played Ruby and Sapphire back when they were first out and barely any pokemon were discovered (Japanese) and I ended up quitting at the fourth dungeon. Thought the games were lame and the pokemon were terrible (only like a small few). Stopped playing pokemon until D&P came out and loved a lot of the new ones.
Decided to go back and play Emerald and quit at the seventh dungeon. Seriously, unless I'm trading over from FR and LG (which I don't have) the selection is terrible in RSE (seeing as how you can't really get most gen 1/2 pokemon).
Terrible design choice on their part. As far as I know, people like Gen 3 pokemon the least as well.
D&P were amazing except for 2 things that I can think of.
1:Terrible job of spreading out pokemon in the fields. Seriously, out of 400+ non-legendaries they could have used, 10-15 are in all the fields in the whole game WTF
2: Legendaries are no longer "legendary". There is seriously like 15-20 legendaries. VERY UNNECESSARY. The next generation better cut that amount down by nearly all (1 trio, 2 color legendaries, 1 ultimate, 1 secret. Anymore will cause RAGE to ensue).
I like very few RSE pokemon. The Aqua/Magma scenarios could have been really cool if they were executed better. I feel that most people are really attached to the 3rd gen because that is the generation where the metagame really started to take place (something I don't care about :\ too time consuming for me; I have had people send me their EV trained/IV best pokemon and, well, I don't really even use them. After I beat the story, I only really care about collecting pokemon….although I might care more about the metagame if I knew someone in real life that cared about it)

Yes, they were. I didn't quit in the middle of Pokémon Ruby, I actually beat it… but I didn't play for long after that.
The reason I played it a bit longer, I think it's because when I was in 8th grade, I met some people that made Secret Bases with strong ass Pokémon and I had a kick out of that. (I'm quite curious how they're going to do that in "TerraRuby" and "MarineSapphire")
I mostly used Kanto Pokémon, although, my love for Fire-type burns deeply so I used Torchic, but other than that, I just couldn't stand Hoenn.Stopped playing pokemon until D&P came out and loved a lot of the new ones.
I didn't like Diamond, but I did find Platinum interesting. I don't know why.
It was probably the new Battle Frontier.Decided to go back and play Emerald and quit at the seventh dungeon. Seriously, unless I'm trading over from FR and LG (which I don't have) the selection is terrible in RSE (seeing as how you can't really get most gen 1/2 pokemon).
Yeah, I also got Emerald. (My friend let me have. I don't blame him)
But, I also use it for hacking. Ah, Emerald, you're useless without a GameShark.
They serious FAILED with the time shit. Seriously. No Day/Night? I'd LOVE to see when EXACTLY I can get an Espeon/Umbreon.
FireRed/LeafGreen, I'll give it an exception with the time crap.Terrible design choice on their part. As far as I know, people like Gen 3 pokemon the least as well.
I'll admit, I liked few of the 4th Generation Pokémon, but ones like Bibarel, Abomasnow and new evolutions like, Magnezone, Lickilicky, Probopass made me go "What the hell" hardcore… but not like 3rd Generation...
Mmmm... let's see... Ludicolo (The Mexican "Jynx"), Exploud, Hariyama, Mawile, Swalot (Muk 2.0), Grumpig, and Claydol.
What the fuck?!Yes, everyone hates Hoenn, unless their very first Pokémon was Ruby/Sapphire, which is epic fail and brings me to tears for their shitty childhood… :cwy:

1.) Yeah, how many times I've seen Bidoof, Geodude and the King of getting in your fucking face, Zubat? (Jesus Christ Zubat! Don't rape my top right screen in Generation V please? Please?!)
2.) Yeah, they had a shitload of legendaries and I didn't like that not one bet.
Scrotum, I mean, Rotom, Emotion Trio, Dragon Trio, Heatran, King Regi, Giratina, Cresselia, Phione AND Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin and…...
Arceus? God Pokémon?! Yet, I'm positive that Game Freak already thought of Generation V Pokémon?!
Hey! Game Freak! Most beings that believe in a God, believes that they are actually "superior" and above all things.
They better remix that Pokédex.I like very few RSE pokemon. The Aqua/Magma scenarios could have been really cool if they were executed better.
Yeah! Hell yeah! They're my favorite villainous teams!
But, when I think about where they're located, I get depressed…How awesome it would had been that you actually joined one side, defeated the other, your leader go berserk, you stop him, by kicking his ass (and the other grunts asses), yet you'll have an advatage, because you know how they work/which Pokémon they used. Seriously! I just made that up and it sounded badass!
I feel that most people are really attached to the 3rd gen because that is the generation where the metagame really started to take place (something I don't care about :\ too time consuming for me; I have had people send me their EV trained/IV best pokemon and, well, I don't really even use them. Ugh… yeah, I know.
My friend is like that, "I'm EV training my Pokémon! It took me 2-3 weeks to train one Pokémon! I hate it so much! I'm going to EV train another Pokémon!"Sigh... I do miss one thing about D/P/P, now that I'm playing HeartGold... those Pokétches...
Overall... that rant was beautiful.

@Cyan:
Where does Marowak come in?
Branch evolution. Its only born a Cubone when it has its mother's skull, after all. I mean really, the flavor text says no one knows what they look like. ANd they have the same body type, similar colors, and basic head shapes…
"It always wears the skull of its dead mother, so no one has any idea what its hidden face looks like."
Cubone already has some of the most disturbing flavor text around. To actually depict how the family tree works would be ooky, so they sort of avoid the topic.
-
I always thought it just wore the skull of a dead Marowak lol.
Doesn't like. the First Game have you reveal the Ghost to be a Marowaka nd then a line just after saying it's Cubone's mother?
-
Those fakes looked awesome to me and way better than 90% of the 3rd gen pokemon.
I think some of the Pokemon in the last 2 games was less creative, and espacially for D&P any good pokemon that was creative (quite a few) were all sweeped under the legendary umbrella. (Shaymin for example) A whole chunk of it was evolutions from existing pokemon. And the rest were all meh.
As for 3rd gen, I liked it, but only for Mudkip.
-
Wow. Lot's of 3rd gen hate in here. I've been with Pokemon since the beginning, but I've gotta say, I liked the Hoenn region. Some of my favorite Pokemon are from the third generation.
I guess I never really missed what they took out from the second gen.
-
Mastermime rocks
As for the 5th gen reveal… fap fap fapuuh.. wrong thread.
I'm kind of getting interested in the anime again, I heard Ash has a dragon Gible and fully evolved types.. he also took on 2 elite 4.. pretty cool shit.
-
Pharoar looks badass, would really like to see it!
And Pryncice, just because I hate how Jynx looks,an update would be good…
-
According to Serebii, it looks like we're getting some details on the 11th.
-
@Badass:
Oh, I almost forgot to post these. These are the rest of the fake Pokemon I found. They look almost real and I was almost fooled, but sadly they ARE fake. This does show what others are expecting from this 5th generation.
Hopefully these will tide us over until we get more real info.

^Looking through these pics was like flipping through the pages of a new Pokemon handbook for me. It reminded me of how excited I used to get looking at each new Pokemon as a little kid. I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did.
[/hide]I'll put this outside the hide tags, since it seems a lot of people want to see what a pre evolution of Tropius might look like:
[qimg]http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc240/RoyalSkull/Gen 5/NewCocano_by_MagesPages.jpg[/qimg]I had to take two images out, but I'll make another post for them in a little while.

Here's that guy's deviantART. He even has Fake Digimon there too lol -
I want any new type. Like I said inthe other one a while ago, plasma and space(cosmic?) would work really well…I would like the 5th gen games to have something where they make the 3 regi's more usefull (just like w/ Shaymin) and Regigigas gets a diff form that cancels out also its ability
-
I'd have to agree with that. Togekiss would had been "perfect" as a Light-type.
But, of course, people will mention Normal-types, if so? I'd say, it can be a "Special" version of the "Physical" Normal-type.
Yet… which would have an advantage against each other?
You'd say Light beats Dark, but I see them resisting each other. The way I see it, normal types are just… well... normal. They have no real element, but that shouldn't automatically make them "light" types.
As for advantages, I figure Light types do 2x damage to Dark types during the day, and Dark types do 2x damage to Light types during the night. And if they decide to put in like an evening/sunset time into the games, well then Light and Dark can do 1x damage to each other at that point.
@Cyan:
I actually like the way Arceus looks. Incomprehensible and hideous, just the way I like my Creators.
Idk man, you'd think the God of all pokemon, humans, etc. would be all bad-ass like. It looks like they shoved a bunch of shit together and made his/her/its design.
The sad part is that, not only does it looks ugly, it's pretty weak too for a god imo. In the game, yeah it's pretty strong, but in the movie… Fuck man, he got rolled like a bitch. You'd think god wouldn't be dumb enough to get owned by humans and a bunch of fodder pokemon. Imo, Arceus should be like Whitebeard, with a touch of Jack Bauer for overall awesomeness.
And we need more Steel and Dark pokemon. Those types aren't new anymore; they've been around since G/S/C.
-
The way I see it, normal types are just… well... normal. They have no real element, but that shouldn't automatically make them "light" types.
No, what I'm saying is "Normal-type" attacks will be more Physical.
While "Light-type" attacks can be like Normal-type attacks, but it's Special. We can have two natural elements.
One relying on Physical.
One relying on Special. As for advantages, I figure Light types do 2x damage to Dark types during the day, and Dark types do 2x damage to Light types during the night. And if they decide to put in like an evening/sunset time into the games, well then Light and Dark can do 1x damage to each other at that point.
I don't think that can work out.
People on Wi-Fi have different time zones. And we need more Steel and Dark pokemon. Those types aren't new anymore; they've been around since G/S/C.
I agree.
-
No, what I'm saying is "Normal-type" attacks will be more Physical.
While "Light-type" attacks can be like Normal-type attacks, but it's Special.I always felt that Normal type pokemon were getting a raw deal, I mean here you have these pokemon that can shoot fire and control electricity, and they're just…normal.
-
@Badass:

That is very true.
Delcatty. -
If anything normal were meant to be the powerhouses in ATK and DEF, but the Steel and Rock type do it better.
-
That is very true.
Delcatty.Actually, the only good normal type pokemon is Aipom (because he's 1 of my 2 favorites along with Snorunt).
-
@Badass:
Actually, the only good normal type pokemon is Aipom (because he's 1 of my 2 favorites along with Snorunt).
Incorect, my good sir.
!
-
I like Blissy and Snorlax for thier shitload of HP… Wish there was more besides being big cushions.
-
Great normal type.
Serene Grace is a hell of a drug.
And of course, the thing with the most HP in the franchise.
-
Incorect, my good sir.

Okay we'll make a list:
Aipom (seriously he's awesome)
Porygon and his family
Snorlax
Dunsparce ( I think he's the only pokemon that's always high)
I'll throw Skitty in there too. -
Smeargle! A normal type that can be trained to use almost any move.
-

ditto .

Okay:
Awesome Normal Types
Aipom
Snorlax
Porygon and family
Dunsparce
Skitty
Smeargle
Blissey
TogekissThe Most Awesome Ice Type
Snorunt
-
regigigas and maybe lickilicky
-
Porygon is a beast.
Why you think it only had one appearance in the anime?Porygon > Arceus
-
Porygon is a beast.

In an episode that was banned.
Even I think he's badass.
-
Ever since they appeared, I always wanted Torkoal to get a pre-evolution and an evolution and Tropius get some pre-evolutions.
Farfetch'd was a pokemon that I would like to see an evolution of, but I couldn't think of any good ideas without leading it to having a sword.
@Badass:
In an episode that was banned.
Even I think he's badass.
True that. I have one of those things, and they are pure beast in every meaning of the word.
-
Militank.
Slaking. There's about 70 cirtters with normal typing, they've got some decent variety. (and theres about 100 water critters. They're by far in the majority.)
-
Evil evil rapeape.
Made me want to throw my controller at the screen while I was playing Colosseum.
-
The Mayor being the mian villain wanted to make me destory the TV. Anyway… That was one annoying fight.
Anyway, Ido like Porygon. There's something about that thing that makes him stand out for a normal type... He isn't some generic looking mammal.
-

Porygon is a cyber duck. Cyber. Duck. Let that awesomeness sink in for a second.
-
I was always attracted to the fact that Porygon was a manmade pokemon. His pure existence shat in god's face. Then he evolves, breaking his original programming, shitting in face of the scientists who made him.
Porygon says, "Fuck rules. I do what I want. CONVERSION!!"
-
@Badass:
As for 3rd gen, I liked it, but only for Mudkip.
This.
Swampert is still my favorite water pokemon to use. Give him Surf, Earthquake, Avalanche, and Hammer Arm and he can take out most everything. -
Conversion 2 > Conversion :ninja:
Anyway, I agree with robby that Miltank should be on that list. Attract + Body Slam is brilliant. Make them fall in love, then paralyze them, and then while they can't do shit you can heal yourself with some good milk drink. Then the fourth move is up to you since Normal types can learn anything. Not only that, he/she has a high def and special def. Easily one of my favorite Normal types.
And I have a PorygonZ right now which just obliterated Lance's Dragonites. ALL 3. God I love Tri Attack.
-
So everyone agrees that Snorunt is the most awesome ice type, then?
-
@Badass:
So everyone agrees that Snorunt is the most awesome ice type, then?
No, Mamoswine is the awesomest Ice-type ever.
-
@Cyan:
No, Mamoswine is the awesomest Ice-type ever.
Ppppfffffff
Mamoswine's cool and all, but he's not even a full Ice type.
Oh, and about this announcement, do you think it's gonna be something we actually care about or something about the new movie :getlost:?
-
@Badass:
Oh, and about this announcement, do you think it's gonna be something we actually care about or something about the new movie :getlost:?
I'm sure it's about Generation V.
We know enough about "Phantom Champion Z" or whatever.
Anyways, I hope the new Champion have epic music.
But, I think Shirona will always have the most awesomest "before the battle" music. -
I'm sure it's about Generation V.
We know enough about "Phantom Champion Z" or whatever.
I want the 11th to come fast for the news, but then again, the 11th is the last day of my spring break.
-
As long as the fifth generation isn't loaded down with water types (seriously, the water types I thinks are starting to be parodies of the other water types, and hardly any have unique type combinations), I will be glad. I hope to see some new dark and steel types, along with a dark-type gym. And the first gym better not be a rock type gym… if it is, I hope they use a Pokemon other that Onix and Geodude.
I also wouldn't mind seeing a pre-evolution to Tropis and Lapras... then each have a dragon evolution (tropis's grass dragon, Lapras ice dragon)... but a guy can dream...
Also, a poison or psychic turtle like pokemon... thus I can have my dream team of Blastoise, Torkoal, Torrterra, (insert other turtle), Raticate, and Zangoose.
-
Turtle team is awesome, next to Gengar, Blastoise is my 2nd favorite pokemon. I mean sweet geebus he has howitzer cannons coming from his shell. Put potatoes in those things and you got a certified potatoe shooting killer =).
Other than that I want more ghost pokemon for the 5th gen.
-
A group of starters that, in their second evolution, gain the attributes of the Fighting-Psychic-Dark triangle would be interesting. Make it so that the final evolutions are:
Water-Psychic
Fire-Dark
Grass-Fighting
