When I get home, I'll head off to Liberty Garden to nab Victini.
Pokemon's Fifth Generation
-
-
I keep forgetting about Viciniti. I just care that little about the Legends of the game :/
-
On Route 3.
My current team.
! Obadiah: Level 13
! Douglas: Level 14
! Basil: Level 13
! Pidove: Level 11Getting rid of Pidove pretty soon.
Loving the game so far.
-
confused. Since Archeops is Rock/Flying shouldn't Thunderbolt not affect it? Cus I just got OHKO'D by it o.o
-
No. Electric attacks are null for ground types not rock.
-
Have spent the last hour looking for a level 15 sandile with moxie. Level 15 because they decided to make him forget bite at 16+.
-
I totally cheated and got a Charmander as my starter. But that is the only not legit pokemon I plan on getting. I need my Charmander.
Also no I didn't download the game. I downloaded the save over my router, edited it, and then uploaded it back into my Black cartridge. Fun times.
Impressed so far. I havent really played a pokemon game since Crystal.
-
Omg, just encountered and caught my first shiny
Shiny Darumaka/ Hardy nature.
-
Yay finally found my charger. A day to late to get serebi Bah.
Oh well got white and about to start.
-
So you mean to tell me that since gen 1 I've been swapping out my overlevelled electrics in order to combat Geodudes…..
I feel so fail
-
I'm so impatient…
got my 4th badge but gonna try get a water pokemon to lvl up for the 5th...
the 4th reminded me of a vocaloid, srsly...Team (I got other pokemon as well but this is my current team)
Pignite (Ryne)
Purrloin (Catrafal)
Throh (Chuck... and yes if I get the blue one I'm gonna call it Norris)
Sinisage (Brolly, but it isn't the freebie one :) I got lucky, so I have pansage called Brollina and a Sinisage called Brolly, so I can breed em and make little green monkey freaks :D just need another leaf stone... almost got a Panpour but it was in the water and I need a rod... no idea why I only got 1 HM ; A ; and I had no idea pokemon could now forget those O,o)
Victini (Mutori, and I got it this morning B) hellyeaaaahhh)
the evolved form of Munna... me forgot (Dreamer)I'm so original with my naming skills :)
but yeah I've been enjoying it ;D
[/got PKMN White] -

Its a REALLY common misconception, I used to make that mistake all the time too. It mostly happens to people that played gen 1, because in that game, EVERY rock type (except the rare fossils) also had a ground subtype. So we got used to geodudes and onixes and whatnot being immune to electricity… because they had that ground typing in there.
To this day I have trouble remembering which hurts what and what is immune.
But no, you weren't wrong in swapping out, they're still immune, they're dual type.

This post is deleted!

Yeah I got confused as well back in the G/S days when an electric type attack hurt Sudowoodo. Learnt my lesson since though :P
How easy are Sun Stones/other evolution stones to get in these games? Don't want to use them early on if they are hard to get.
-
They seem kinda easy to get at the moment. I have 1 or 2 of each.
I do hope you can buy them however. That was what I hated about Gold and Silver. They had you doing the Pokethlon if you wanted to get them prior E4
-
Well…I finally have discovered the horrors of Lenora. Thought I had a pretty good team training my Lillipup and Tepig (both up to 21 now) while starting to train a Tympole (Kururu). For the most part Lillipup got close to taking out Herdier with Take Down...until she decided to use a Super Potion on it and my little guy ran out. But the moment I brought out Tepig to take it out with Rock Smash, she brought out Watchog...and Retaliate. Tympole started wittling away but she kept using Leer with Watchog...before releasing Retaliate again. Quit before she wiped out my team (now I know why I kept that Pansage: so I can leave before a complete wipe out)...may need either a different strategy or a couple more levels so I can last long enough to have a strong gang to take out that Watchog. (maybe I should just use Bite instead of Take Down for Lillipup but I sort of wanted my Tepig saved for Watchog with it knowing Rock Smash)
-
I really didn't find Lenora that hard.
Two Low Kicks from Timburr took out the Watchdog pretty easily.
-
Just fired up this baby.
I love how if you examine it, the game points out that the Wii isn'r even scratched after going through two Pokemon battles.
-
Forget Victini, training time.
Dewott Lv. 24
Pansear Lv. 24
Blitzle (Wild Horse) Lv. 23
Timburr (Valentine) Lv. 23
Sandile (Cairodile) Lv. 19Cairodile has Moxie (Remember? It's that ability we all freaked about.)
-

I'm pretty sure they can be bought in the town that's exclusive to each game, that Black City or White Forest.
Though I think that's still after fighting the Elite 4 so I guess it isn't much help…
-
@Cyan:

Well I finally got her on my 3rd try. Pretty much two things turned the tide:
1. Learning that Lillipup needed one more level to learn Crunch (that made dealing with Herdier easier.
2. Having Tepig use Flame Charge once on Herdier, both finishing it off and increasing it's speed enough to get my first Rock Smash on Watchog. Also helped that Lenora used her only Potion on Herdier and that I wiped most of that away with a sacrifice Take Down by Lillipup.
-
First Four Gyms were hard on me but 5th 6th and 7th I pretty much ran through. Hope the 8th changes that.
Finished Dragonspiral Tower and current team
39 Samurott
36 Zoroark
37 Beartic
37 Zebstrika
37 Excadrill
37 Simisear -
Omg, just encountered and caught my first shiny
Shiny Darumaka/ Hardy nature.
Interesting, I just ran into a shiny swaddle (are however it is spelled) about 10 min ago.
-
I haven't poseted here yet.
I got the three in plus a few others as place holders
-
white version, currently in the middle of chargestone cave.
Team is:
Dewott
Zebstrika
Sawk
Krokorok
Archeon,
all level 33.Recommendations for a sixth member? I'm thinking of Chandelure or Durant to fill some offensive typing gaps, but then I'm still missing ice…
-
Starting to train a Petilil I caught when I got into the main Pinwheel Forest. Seems like a useful "mage Pokemon" with Special emphesis over all the "Physicals" I have on the team so far. (though it is making me think of finding a Pokemon with Drought…that way I can use her Chlorophyll and have one-turn Solar Beam when I get the TM for it...though to do that I need a Wi-Fi that will get me into the Dream World...and the luck of finding a Vulpix, other than that I may as well just teach it Sunny Day)
-
Does anyone else find the evolution screen a little creep? Before they've always just had a white glow… now they split apart into ribbons and atoms and swirl around like crazy and then reassemble. It's very Digimon-esque.
Went up to route five, skipping a few of the luxuries along the way, because I knew there were things I really wanted, and I got them.
Now theres a good dozen or so critters I have that I want to use, plus I know there's still some more wild ones...
Current team.[hide]
RAIGA.
HUSHPUPPY.
ROLL. (Renamed from BLUES. Just seems more appropriate. Despite the megaman joke.)
DANCER.
JELL. (Like Jill, only… jelly. Would have been Cell if it was a male.)
MOMO. His natures indicates he'll be getting a bonus in speed, and a negative in regular attack. That's… about the best nature I could hope for, really.[/hide] -
I really need to stop being stupid and get a Fly Mule.
-
So after burning Burgh's pokemon to death with my Pansear's Flame Burst, I celebrated by getting the liberty pass and got Victini.
current lvls:
Dewott lvl 26
Pansear lvl 25
Timburr lvl 23
Blitzle lvl 23
Tranquil lvl 23 -
Love the game so far, everything looks totally awesome and some parts of the story are a huge step forward from the previous games.
It´s incredible how useful Audino is. It doesn´t make any sense now to just go and train in the grass. Look for Audino and BAM! you got your levels!
Great stuff. -
Beat the E4 last night. (Damn them for canceling King of the Hill! It was only halfway through the seventh season!) Is it me or were they easier than ever? Most of mine were underlevelled (most were 48 with two 46)
Off to kick the rest of the world's ass now. Hank Hill style.

Well maybe you have good counters for them, but they do have less pokemons in the first turn, you can see in their comments that they aren't using their best, Cyber watch out don't spoil them XD, it's nice to see the league for the first time kinda meh if you spoil them, thats why I didn't.
Delete the last phrase(I did it in the quoting.)
-
whooops. Edited now =3
BTW. Should I repost the Friend Codes that was amassed about 15 pages back?
Or could a mod put them on first page maybe?
Edit: Goddamit. That Archeops completely wiped out my team without me getting a single hit in.
Edit Edit: Got the credits. Almost lost all hope with that one guy at the end. (Guy brought out his Hydreigon immediately after his first poke) Till my Chopper (Sawsbuck) just killed everything while at 18hp. I felt so proud.
-
Just after getting the first badge. That guy's strategy was just to spam Work Up until his Pokemon could one-shot anything. Luckily for me, even after all that Panpour's Water Gun did squat to Pansage.
Team Plasma's battle music is strangely catchy.
Current team:
Tepig (14)
Pidove (8)
Pansage (13)
Patrat (13)
Blitzle (8)EDIT: Holy cow, Audinos do give off huge amounts of experiance! Nearly six-hundred ar only level 9!
-
Audinos are amazing.
I killed a lvl 50 one in the grind for post e4 (which is scary big gap from 50s to mid 60s) and my lvl 5 Patrat went up to lvl 28. (It was also holding a Lucky Eggy)
-
Been sort of holding off on going through Pinwheel Forest until I got Mimi (my Petilil) up to a decent level…well that and all that real life stuff I have to deal with. I really love this little thing and know that I can't train it in the forest itself with all the bugs ready to eat it. (which...sucks for a Grass type) Besides, once in the forest, I can train my Tepig a bit more so I can burn up Burgh once I finally reach his battle just to get my terrible feelings of Lenora off my back.
-
I love how N takes you onto the ferris wheel and goes "oh by the way i'm the king of team plasma s'okay no biggie."
-

Haha definetly, when I played the japanese version I though he was just kinda of an emo, playing it in English makes him seem cooler.
I love how he uses the pokemons in the zone to battle.
-
I suppose now I need to start thinking about what team I wanna use. Kinda hard really. Especially at the moment when there is no Dream World. Which means I could make a team only to have them all come out with new and improved abilities at the end of the month -_-

Not all of the new abilities improve the pokemons, most of them don't do anytihing from them so don't worry about it XD, I have two boxes of evtrained pokemons from my HG/SS and I don't really want new abilities for most of them.
Plus if you aren't going to ev train that should be a problem :P, TMs dont end, leveling is super easy so np.
I have most stuff already in this game so if you need some pokemon just say it, Im going to train a Timburr soon so Ill probably need help to trade evolve it.
-
Man, I just got to Lenora's gym, and holy difficulty spike, Batman. When the first trainer out of the gate has a level 17 Herdier, you just know this isn't going to be fun. Time to grind in the Pinwheel Forest and find Audinos.
-
Minncinos are kind of awesome. If I hadn't just gotten an emonga and a solosis, both of which I've wanted since they were first teased like, a year ago, I'd probably be using one. Sing, encore, tickle, charm, and that really NASTY tail slap attack combined with technician ability… they're pretty dangerous. I guess it can be put in the top 12 rotation...
Man, and there's STILL a bunch of critters I know I want that I haven't seen yet. This is great.
-

I probably will have to give you a shout for some too lol. Atm I'm just catching everything new I see (and considering where I am there's tons. Really surprising when I see the likes of Driftblim and Politoed as catchables in areas)
And holy crap did I just see a Wild Metagross. This is pretty much like those hacks XD
At the moment I'm kinda tempted to use this lineup:
Sawsbuck Grass/Normal
Galvantula Bug/Electric
The Chandelier (can't remember it's name) Ghost/Fire
Whiscash (never used one. Always looked fun)
Something else.
Something else.Probably need to get a Psychic and a Ice or something.
And I totally wanted to use a Minncino since I saw that one spanking it's ass in front of Juniper.
-
Anyone else got the Collectors Edition guide?
-
'the hell, I just caught the legendary trio of this generation (the animal-ish looking ones). I needed about 15 ultra balls for all three together.
I'm not sure if I am pleased to have gotten them this ridiculously easy. It's like they didn't even try. -
lucky.
I used up 30 Ultras on a Sleeping Metang with 1HP left and still didn't catch the thing XD
-
I think my Pokemon must have the shittiest Defense/Attack ever. All by 2 of my whole team were wiped out in just a few moves by a Tympole and a Throh. Everything I did to them did minimal damage, but my Pidove was taken down by 2 bubblebeams from a Tympole that was 2 levels lower than it O_o
-
Tympole's are annoying little fuckers.
-

I took extra time because I was using Synchronize to get him with Timid nature, only caught him 4 times(when I finally got the nature) and I was like 2 hours trying, the other two were pretty easy.
Going to EV train Terrakion I really like the pokemon, plus the trio is considered Uber like every other trio before so I can use them in wifi random battles.
Yeah the frog is pretty cool I used it in my first play through, really liked it, its bulky and has a good moveset, Conekiller let me guess you are using Blitzle and Pidove? they are paper indeed, I also had them in my first playtrough XD, pain in the ass.
-
Anyone know where the Everstone is in this one? Serebii says Castella city but no specifics. I found out my Sawsbuck has the perfect nature for the future and wanna keep it for the egg.
Edit: Nevermind. Got a couple from wild Roggenrola
